I went to a gamestop way out in washington county. For those not from PA this is pretty far from any major city. Dude said there was a line when they opened. Demand must be insane if stores like this are getting lines.
Yeah it's a European thing only it seems. This tracker doesn't work in the US sadly
The reason scalpers are able to make a buck is because of actual demand for the hardwareby the general public. This never happened with the Wii U, and only happened with the PS3/PS4/XBONE/360 just before launch. The price settled right after release of those.
If there was no demand, scalpers would have a hard time making money as the market will correct itself right away.
Was there more supply available in the time after launch for those other consoles? I have a hard time believing the PS4 price would have stabilized immediately after launch if only five consoles per Gamestop were available in the the three-week period afterwards.

There were tons of consoles units for the Switch available at launch, too. Stores got as many as 40 to 50 units per store for the bigger retailers.
So annoying, second time it shows up in Prime Now in NYC (brooklyn) but doesn't let me add to fucking cart.
Said options but didn't let me add to cart. Now it's gone of course.
Is there a way to check best buy stock?Just got another one from Best Buy. My husband told me when I got mine at launch "where's mine?" And so I went there to get it. Every Best Buy is getting 5 and they do not have to be held to be ticketed.
I had a $200 gift card from when I bought a phone and $85 in reward ceetificates so I only paid like $33 out of pocket.

Funny you guys making up no more Neons coming in
There will be more coming April and with every new batch.
Just be patient
Do you know how to set up prime now alerts?
Nintendo sure love shipping batches in chunks of 20 thousand worldwide. It's gonna take forever before you can walk into any random store and buy one, isn't it?
Fine, friend who runs reviews for a moderately popular site said, via "Emails and press releases," that Amazon will be getting them back in stock tomorrow. Not tryna be Wario64 here (which is why I assumed not sharing would increase my chances; I'm pretty sure NeoGAF isn't changing that too much either way). I trust the dude enough as a buddy that he came to me as someone who wants a Switch asap with this.
Good luck and g'night!
Yup. I had alerts up and running with chrome and auto refresh plus yet alerts never alerted me of switches available. I just saw them twice while casually opening the app on my iPhone. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm getting my Switch from bestbuy.com delivered tomorrow evening, I'd be pretty disappointed with Amazon prime by now.
I have an opportunity to grab a Gray Switch + Zelda for $430 from a Facebook seller, I think I'm gonna bite.
Personally I'd advise against it. That's way too much, unless it's the spacial edition.
If it's used that's an even more ridiculous price.

They recently announced doubling their production efforts. However, Switches aren't just magically made, so it'll be a while before we start seeing this in effect. Maybe May at the latest.
Depending on your state, you're gonna pay about $400 with taxes anyway for a system and Zelda. $30 markup isn't much for the peace of mind, that's basically paying someone to do the legwork. My bigger concern would be warranty, does it come with the original receipt in case you had to claim manufacturer warranty( say you wind up with a faulty Joycon or worse, a dud system)?
It's new, unopened (he claims) I don't think Zelda is the special edition, but also new.Personally I'd advise against it. That's way too much, unless it's the spacial edition.

If it's new, he's only paying roughly over $30. It's not a bad deal at all.
Looks like that guys source about the Amazon restock happening today didn't pan out either
Yeah. They have also been shipping units via prime now, so maybe that's where they are allocating their stock.Nothing but bullshit. As expected.
Speaking of Amazon, they have been taking back orders for everywhere except US.
What? Washington PA is like 25 minutes from Pittsburgh and Wheeling. Both of which are good size as well. I can completely understand lines there.
NY, Long Island to be specific. Can't find it in stores anywhere. I'll ask him if it comes with the receipt. Yeah I figured the Switch would be about $325 after tax plus $65 or so for Zelda. So I'm paying an extra $40.
Edit: He says it comes with the receipt, he got it from Target

You didnt open it when you met with him? I made sure to check my box from the dude who sold me mine.So I ended up picking it up. It all looks good from the exterior, though I'm nervous to open it up and a bunch of months fly out.
And I was right, he spent $390 so I paid an extra $40 which isn't terrible right?
No it wasn't in the town of Washington, this was out in fracking country lol.
Edit: Now that I think about it, Cal U is nearby, probably all the college students snagging them haha.
Umm did you look at their seller rating? If it's too good to be true, it is.bout to pull the trigger on one of these gray ones for ~$250 on Amazon from a 'just launched' seller. talk me out of it.
Since it's new I would say go for it( especially with the receipt). Though I wonder from the seller's side, what exactly is the point of going through the trouble of getting a Switch to sell it for $30-$40 profit? Unless he's got a bunch of them and he's hoping to make a few hundred from the accumulated sales.
He said it was a gift but he didn't want it.
