Star City (For All Mankind spinoff) - Official Teaser

Huh. I started S4 and TBH the Russian stuff is like the least interesting angle they could have gone with. I am curious just how many gay women in positions of power will be in the Soviet Union :p

I started watching FAM, but it felt too woke. The men didn't act like men from the 60's/70's. I had expected dudes who were rougher around the edges, instead we got soyboys. Could have been excellent if it wasn't ruined by identity politics-damaged writers.

It is worth it just to follow the RIDICULOUS arc of Ed's wife's character. BANANAS B A N A N A N A S S S S !!!!:P

absolute smokeshow though

I'm obsessed with the Mercury,Gemini and Apollo programs so I enjoyed the alternate FAM storyline (S4 was a bit EH ? though) So really looking forward to this.
If anyone evers gets close to Huntsville,AL you must go to the NASA rocket center ,I think I went comatose just staring at the Saturn V laying on its side and suspended .What an achievement of what we can do !

Yeah I watched a couple of seasons but eventually lost interest. The core concept of the soviets reaching the moon first and it resulting in an extended space race is awesome, and the show can be quite fun when it actually focuses on it. But all the other stuff is pretty bland, and the checklist of woke stuff just gets tiring. Instead of focusing on the political and technological challenges, a ton of time is spent on "but how would this affect women, queer people and illegal immigrants!!!!".

Pretty cool having the alternate take.

They've handled that aspect so far in the show pretty well and havent just made them cartoonish villains

The only problem is s01 is alot slower than the rest, theyll nees to start this show with more of a pop

i think i went until season 04 (when ed begun to fly mining ships or something like this.) but eventually lost interest too. The first 2 seasons were the best imho because the didn't split the timeline/technology a lot and went full scifi yet
It will be nice to see if they went all woke on the USRR too.

For All Mankind starts off amazingly well and then turns into soap opera schlock about wives being unhappy, kids doing dumb shit, women astronauts or whatever and dudes being secretly gay.

I'm watching to see NASA do cool stuff on the moon, I don't give a shit about housewives or a dude feeling oppressed because of his sexuality, fuck off.

This was my favorite show hands down for awhile. It started fairly strong and got better, then sort of started getting worse as the seasons wore on, a good bit of that involved things are complaining about in this thread. Even so, I still love the premise and I'm here to see where it continues to go. Lots of fun with plenty of characters that I dig.

Not sure what the story is with the spinoff, but you can tell by my enthusiasm for the original show that I'm definitely going to check it out.

Despite the people whining about the wokeness of For All Mankind, don't sleep on it!

I gave up on it when they killed Tracy and Gordo at the end of S2. The best characters.

I think I watched about 20 minutes of S3, but the characters were all old, the main guy had turned into a cuck, and his wife had somehow gone from working at the local bar to managing a space station. A sad end to a really good series.

Yeah, I can appreciate that. The show definitely went from "oh my god great" to "I still really like it, but it's something different" at that point.

New trailer

If this is tight, fast moving, and focused on the space mission then I'll take it. But I fear it will immediately devolve into the maudlin soap opera aspects that infested lots of FAM, especially since we already know much of this story.

I watched the first episode a couple of days ago and man is it a slog. The male characters just came off as super annoying. Does the show get better the more I watch it?

I finished the first season, but it had the same DNA throughout the whole thing. The only way I can see later seasons having improved is if they swapped the showrunner and writers' room.
