Smash 5 won't be happening foe years. I'm fine not using my Wii u ever again and getting smash 4 deluxe. We're bound to get 3ds and Wii U content, all DLC included, and new content like characters.A more robust single player mode, and anything else that would benefit from not having to develop two versions for two consoles.
Plus an updated BOTW Link, possibly an updated Osyssey Mario, stages for them, a Xenoblade X (or 2) rep. Theres still much that could be done with a Smash 5.
A Smash 4 deluxe would be pretty much the Wii U game again. We'd be much less likely to get new content.
Nope.
I wouldn't be surprised if switch sales are 6 million right now. A lot can be sold in a month if Nintendo gets enough
Well I mean if you ignore that pesky 2012-2016 period I guess.
Unless you're okay with a sub-HD resolution on the Switch for both docked & undocked, I wouldn't get your hopes up for Tekken 7 on the Switch (for reference, the OG PS4 can't run the game at 1080p). DBFZ might have a shot, but sadly, not Tekken 7.
Uh... Yes there is.
The game is already 720p on the X1. As much as I want that game on the go, I'm not sure the Switch can handle it at all. Chances are it will be 480p or worse undocked.
Any word on the best selling third-party title on the system?
WOW @ Arms being a million seller already. Congrats!
They already did that (to an extent) for the Xbox One version. There is such a thing as downporting. They can pull back on effects, lower texture resolution, etc.
It's not worth it.
Most of the time when people around the net spout "proper account system" they are actually wanting transferable and multiple device licensing arrangements. For whatever reason they just can't wrap their heads around what an account system actually is, and what makes an account different from licensing arrangements.

The funny thing is that Nintendo actually has implemented account-based transferable digital licenses now.
You just have to do it via the console, not over the web.
What are the sales of BotW on Wii U? I can't seem to find them.

Are you being intentionally obtuse? That's exactly what people want. Having an account that doesn't maintain the digital games you bought from system to system is marginally better than scribbling your name in the dust on your Wii and Wii U.
Does it work for all my VC games I bought in the past?

Sold about 1,080,000 by the end of March on Wii U.
Probably won't end up doing much more than that. But for now, with both combined, BOTW has to be just shy of 5 million copies sold. Maybe even just around that with July sales counted.
Its shipment. Sales are probably near 600k.
5 million puts it ahead of the vast majority of Zelda titles. What's unique here is that it will likely keep selling at least through until the end of the year. Nintendo titles also skyrocket in sales during the holiday season so I expect it to do pretty well.Around 5 million 4 months later, sounds fine for a Zelda game, not groundbreaking though.
It's almost as if releasing a game in June when kids have a bunch of free time and you have no competition is a good idea.
Expect game companies to learn nothing from this lesson, as always.

Day 1 adopter. Got the neon console with a Pro Controller.
After Zelda, which I spent over 130 hours on, the console doesn't get much use. I can't get into handheld/portable mode that much since I don't commute, and because the flat back joycons hurt my hands for any game that can be considered complex--that includes Mario Kart since you have to hold down a button to go, then use the triggers while maneuvering the analog nubs.
I have little to no interest in Splatoon 2 and ARMS, so I am basically waiting on Mario and possibly Rabbids. But the switch does have a great Indie scene thus far. Once more games become available I will get back into my Switch.

You heard it here first, folks: PS4 doesn't have a proper account system either !
Didn't realize I could play all my PS3 games on my PS4 as well. Thanks for the heads up
The success of Zelda is a wonderful thing.
The success of Mario Kart is a depressing thing.

Sounds like an embarrassing fear to me, you ain't making your case here homeboy. Not entirely, a system launching with Bomberman and Street Fighter 2 sent a worrying message to gamers that Nintendo might be forever stuck in the past. There was also fear that Breath of the Wild being on Wii U may have killed the systems brightest hope.

It's currently the 4th best selling Zelda game after being on the market for only a few months.
It has a very strong chance of becoming the best selling Zelda.
Well said. I'm always so annoyed when people say software sells hardware. PS4 sold like mad out of the gate with ports of games people played <1 year ago. Wii U sold terrible but had/has great games.
Specs and features sell hardware, not games.
Get ready for every single Wii U game to get ported.
So...buy a controller?
You don't have to press any button to go in MK.

So its reasonable to expect it to sell 12 million for the fiscal year assuming they can boost production for the holidays, right?
Their forecast is 13 million.
Hopefully they can bump that up to around 15 million or so, but 13 would still be great.
The success of Zelda is a wonderful thing.
The success of Mario Kart is a depressing thing.
Fortunately Switch is also a handheld.
Both Nintendo and Rockstar should be looking at the golden opportunity here.

I'm still sticking to my guns with "Improvement from GameCube/Wii U", I expect it to do a bit higher than 3DS LTD but not hit Wii LTD.
