This is great news, most of their back catalogue was in major need of a digital remaster and this box set is pretty cheap which is pretty surprising. Anyone else going to bite?

The Cars multi-platinum first decade is being boxed up into a freshly remastered retrospective set, alongside a new single-disc, career-spanning compilation.
The six-disc box, titled The Elektra Years 1978-1987, is scheduled to arrive March 11, and features digital remastering supervised by frontman Ric Ocasek. Each of the six albums the group released for Elektra Records during the titular timespan are collected in replica sleeves featuring the original artwork a process overseen by drummer David Robinson, who designed the bands album covers.
Bringing together all 60 tracks from the bands early discography, The Elektra Years includes The Cars (1978), Candy-O (1979), Panorama (1980), Shake It Up (1981), Heartbeat City, (1984) and Door to Door (1987). The sole entry not represented is the Cars 2011 reunion effort, Move Like This. The CD version of The Elektra Years is available for pre-order now, with a limited edition vinyl version featuring a different colored disc for each LP scheduled to arrive June 7.
