Crash was made for the ps1/ps2. Games would be terrible and outdated gameplay wise nowadays. Dont know why so many are jumping on this bandwagon for a return. Just let it stay dead. Naughty Dog moved on for a good reason lol

Yes. Characters in the game sit down and play the actual game on a PS1, and the player controls it.

Why is that? I have more trust in the quality if Sony are behind it.

I doubt Sony would give it to one of their major developers if they were doing it. Seriously doubt naughty dog would even consider it.
And it's just nicer to have things on all platforms ha
Seriously tho it's more the whole it was multiplat for a while I'd just hate to see it go back to a single platform

I'm curious how a Crash released today would play.
Insomniac is the perfect candidate for this. They are really good at making this type of game.

The only Crash Bandicoot titles that anyone really remembers were the original three. Much of the nostalgia surrounding these titles is due to Sony's heavy marketing during their time. Sony pushed Crash as the "Anti-Mario" just as the entire Playstation library was pushed as "Anti-Nintendo" and it just blew up from there. It's basically the same stunt Sega pulled with Sonic in the early days of the SNES.
The games themselves are massively overrated, ranging from average to mediocre, and you'd struggle to find anyone remembering a game in the series past the year 1999 when Sony was no longer marketing them.
Crash Bandicoot just doesn't fit today's gaming landscape, especially on the Playstation 4. Your average Playstation 4 owner wants mature, violent games. Fallout, Call of Duty, Metal Gear Solid...these are the games individuals on that platform what to play, not cutesy run and bop platformers. If customers wanted to play those games the Wii U would have blown up.
Personally I think the Crash Bandicoot series is best remembered as a relic of the 90s. Let the Bandicoot sleep the long sleep and remember him for what he was.

what the hell did I just read?
Replace Leafs with Crash.
Honestly the best case for the Crash to return is the sales numbers for the latest R&C. I find that to be the best reason to be hopeful for this.

There's clearly a thirst for mascot style games in the market. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that Ratchet & Clank is at worst #3 on the monthly NPD charts. It's been the top selling title overall in the UK for two weeks now. People are going to be very surprised.
Your chain is unyanked. You play it twice. It's mandatory both times.
Yep.
That and the lack of an Activision mention in the credits means I'm super hyped for this E3.
Make a Crash game you intend to profit on and see who sends their lawyers after you.Holy shit o_o
Stupid question, is there no way to check who hold the rights currently?

Actually a brilliant idea. Someone make up a Kickstarter and see what happens.
We asked [Activision]. It’s not something we can offer for this.
Remember when Sony was doing the Naughty Dog 30th Anniversary Fan Art Design Contest and they couldn't have Crash Bandicoot fan art eligible for the prize?

If Activision refused giving them the rights to include Crash in a fan art contest, how could Sony be able to do all those things in OP now? I think Sony got the rights.
Like a linear 3D platformer I hope. If they somehow make Crash into an open world game I'm out.
What if it's more like Jak and Daxter 1 (Or its sequels without the guns)?
I know that's not exactly what many here want but if given, would that be acceptable for Crash?

Bit of a reach there. Is there any mention at all of Crash there?Since the Uncharted 4 easter egg without any Activision mention, it's obvious Sony have the rights now.
Those games are open world.
I don't think anything is wrong with the existing Crash formula, Nintendo have proved that sidescrollers can still warrent a full retail price so I have complete faith that a linear 3D Crash would still succeed. The whole identity of the franchise is being a 3D game that progresses like a sidescroller, anything else just wouldn't be Crash.

I can't think of anyone but naughty dog who is up for the task, and i don't trust modern naughty dog to do it justice
