The Washington Post: Activision Blizzard sued for wrongful death by family of employee who killed herself

This case should not be allowed in court until the lawyers in charge publicly announce their pronouns.

As a white person who identifies as a green rat it outright offends me.

Nobody made her, take off her underwear, spread her legs and shove a smartphone down there to send a pic to her manager

Nobody forced that manager to show that picture all over the place publicly humiliating her and likely causing that suicide.... I don't know if some of you realize this or not, but this whole idea of just bringing up something else doesn't magically make someone immune to the law or something. Its like saying "well nobody made him go outside when I was shooting my gun wildly your honor" and trying to force this idea that someone else morally doing something questionable, supports breaking the law.

So that person is free to have those pictures as they are of her, the other party as in the manager is not free to send those pictures out, harass the victim about it as if its some how fair play or open season or a green light simply cause they took the picture. Thats not really how any of this shit works and trust me on this, a fucking judge won't just laugh and let you go with this absurd argument. Look up those cases and tread lightly on that type of thinking, you might win a morality award for that shit, you won't avoid a prison sentence because of it and don't mix that shit up thinking THEM takin the picture means you can't be tried for harassing them over it or spreading the pictures without their consent etc.

Yes, there's a clear escalation of careless decisions at play here. Maybe she should have been more discerning about the type of people she shared intimate things with, sure. But that's her lapse in judgement versus the guy who received them sharing with his bros, and furthermore them deciding to harass her about it. Shit runs downhill. Any one of these people along the way could have acted like they weren't in high school and potentially avoid the worst of this situation. Stupid, naive or whatever you want to call it, she *trusted* someone with something personal, and was objectively betrayed by that same person.

Yeah, mental health is important. And yes, one is responsible for their own actions (and reactions) to things, despite their mental deficiencies. But I don't think in any world we can blame a person trapped in a room with gasoline and a lit match for burning up. As a corralary to this woman being responsible for her own actions and choices, everyone in the situation should be afforded the same autonomy, for better or worse. You can wake each morning and decide for yourself to not be an asshole.
