What do you prioritise the most about gaming?

That I inject myself and my views into every game so I can feel self righteous and appease my narcissism.

Gameplay of course but I still won't play a game if it only has good gameplay cause it still needs other elements to add to it like a interesting art style, setting, character, character design, story, lore etc. It doesn't need to check mark all of these but gameplay alone won't do it even if it's the most important thing for me. Gameplay would need to combine with at least a few of the above to make it worthwhile.
 
Gameplay and good optimizqtions to go with that performance.

In otherwords, anything not using the Unreal engine almost always has my attention.

Yes, I hate that engine that much.

gameplay/fun are probably most important, but aesthetics/technology/music/story/world building all contribute
 
I would say "good gameplay," but that's an awfully vague term.

For me, it's three main things:

1. Combat that provides enough challenge to be interesting but not so much complexity as to weigh it down (e.g., lots of combos to memorize, precise timing required, hours of trial-and-error)

2. A world that is interesting and immersive to explore

3. Story and characters that are interesting enough to keep me engaged.


It doesn't need to have all of those three elements (few games do), but it needs to have some.

i can't stand looking for the videogame


there is no magic or sense of adventure in an open world... just emptiness and boredom


if a game with an open world is good, it's in spite of itself


so i guess i value the opposite of that... there's no need to hide good gameplay, put it right here in my veins

Ive changed my taste for 100% gameplay focus .... dont have anymore patience for shitty stories or/and bullshit markers on a giant map.

Single player, not open world, gameplay first games.

Thats it.
 
Nowdays? Simplicity and fun gameplay. I don't care about large open world games with endless content.

I don't want games to be some sort of chore checklist.

I can't really say. I can say though that mediocre gameplay can only support an otherwise good game so far. So like witcher 3, I was able to deal with it for about 60 hours. After that it became enough of a drag that I fell off the game.

Gameplay that's less than brilliant can still support a game for a long time, though. Often 100 hours or more if it's just "good enough". If it's downright bad, I cannot stick with a game long at all.
