Announced at Falcom's shareholders meeting, release in 2023 in Japan on PS4/PS5/Switch
The stage is the northern sea "Oberia Bay" where there are countless islands large and small.

Who are the marine race "Norman" that the young adventurer Adol Christin meets in his land, and the immortal dead "Grieger" that attacks people...?

A speedy "solo mode" where you fight with player control and your partner's auto attack and support, and a "combi mode" where you operate a series of actions at the same time as a pair and fight against a strong enemy. New system "cross action" to challenge the battle in two modes!

Furthermore, in this work, it is also possible to operate a sailing ship running in the ocean!

Explore vast sea areas with nautical charts as clues, and sometimes challenge naval battles with enemy ships...

Add a new element to the "fun to adventure" which is also the real thrill of the series!

In addition, we have introduced a system such as a special ability "Mana Action" that greatly expands the degree of freedom in fields and dungeons !

"Ys X -NORDICS-" is a new adventure in Obelia Bay, the northern sea, with the young adventurer Adol Christin as the main character .

Please look forward to the development of the latest series by the development team of "Ys VIII" and "Ys IX"!

It's a new engine, both Kuro no Kiseki also running on it
I dunno if that makes me feel happy or even more frustrated tbh. Love the games, but they look like PSP games. This one looks about Vita level. Character textures are fine but those environments look like shit.

I put over 100 hours into Ys Lacrimosa (which ever one that is) and still have no idea how far along I was in the game when I stopped. I wonder how long this next one will be.

Seems like You are exaggerating, you can pretty easily finish it in 30 hours if you are not chasing 100%. I platinumed it in 80 hours and it including two playthroughs on hard and nightmare difficulty.

Just get a switch or PS5
I had YS8 on switch it ran like 💩.

& I'm not going to buy a ps5 again for one game, it will sit on the side gathering dust again for 6 months whilst I feel guilty owning a system people are struggling to get and would get much more play from someone else & then I end up shifting again.

Hopefully people let Falcom know there is interest in the YS series on Xbox instead and they consider porting to the platform in the future.

Seems like you don't know what you're talking about, because I tend to wander aimlessly in open world games and forget to do main story bits and games go on forever.

The good thing about falcom is they'll also release it onto steam. So the game is available on all modern platforms, they're pretty good about that

NISA, not Falcom. It's only market situation in Japan forced Falcom to develop Switch version in-house, they won't bother with Xbox version, and i doubt that they have resources for that. But NISA surely can make Xbox port, especially since there won't be need for a Switch port this time.

Hopefully, if it ever comes to Xbox, I hope people give the IP a chance.

Whilst the games usually have a budget look, the ost is top tier.

Nice!
The screenshot felt more like Ys 8 than Ys 9, which is great because the latter felt pretty awful imo.

Nice to see. I'm not really into the clothes but it'll probably grow on me. I like the ability to sail the seas should be really fun. Amazing series with great OSTs.

I like the series but they'll screenshots are far from a hugely visually. It looks a lot like they're last game with maybe a marginal experience that I would need to compare side by side to justify saying it would be a huge visual difference. These games are always pretty fun so time for those that want to play it to get the platforms and enjoy it. Sucks to be you if you don't have them LOL

Nice, looking forward to it!.

The art style in the screenshots is thankfully already looking 10x better than IX

Insert the Sony paid for the game to skip the Xbox conspiracy theory here.
You may have noticed that no one mentioned that. SQEX being a much larger company, and consistently putting significantly smaller games on Xbox over and over but skipping their main brand is different than Falcom skipping Xbox. But enjoy your strawman all by yourself I guess lol.

Definitely day1 for me. I saw this news last night on a foreign website and thought- finally, Adol is revealing his true self - making harem around the world, when I saw the title in Japanese.

No dicks. Certainly it won’t be a sausage fest.

Jokes aside, very much looking forward to it. And good thing is that it’s coming out in 2023 - and depending on the speed of localization, we may get it on 2024 over here… crossing fingers.

New 2 party system, I hope it will rejuvenate the feel and action. I hope they will do some comprehensive overhaul on the side quests formula as well.
