Still no SMT 4 news for EU

Well another direct and more silence, I'm gonna email Nintendo again but the last time I did they just said they had no info to give.

My EU stream froze on the ATLUS logo before Etrian Odyssey, and I freaked out thinking it was SMTIV...

That might be the closest I ever get to a real announcement

This shit is really unacceptable. It's been like ages since we got an official confirmation of the game. Never buying a region-locked console again.

Say what you want about gamer entitlement or whatever but I ain't even entertaining the thought of getting a 3DS before SMT IV is available on our lands.

Seriously, what is going on with SMT4 ? I'm starting to think it's related to SEGA buying Atlus....
Can't we have someone from Atlus answering about this ?

Worth organising a mass email to Ghostlight begging them to pick it up? I just can't see how Soul Hackers and Devil Summoner got releases, and a mainline title doesn't...

Damn Nintendo every European watching your snoozefest was probably expecting SMTIV why you did this is beyond my understanding.

Has SMT IV ever been officially announced for Europe?

Yes, last April, but just a trailer. We still don't know who is supposedly publishing, although it's a pretty safe bet it was meant to be Nintendo. Hopefully they're just holding it hostage until SMTxFE is closer to release.

Nintendo of Europe are the publisher. Nothing Ghostlight or NISA can do at this point, unless Nintendo has let the game drop and Atlus are free to hawk it to distributors again. I sincerely doubt that's the case.

I'm not going to bother waiting, whatever. Time to import.

Which also wasn't mentioned at all...

Considering we're (slowly) getting all the EO games and lesser SMT, I'm sure SMT IV will arrive if nothing has changed since the SEGA buyout.

Maybe they're considering just an eShop release.

Ridiculous. I'm guessing Nintendo are either holding it back to give fe x smt more traction or they have just forgot about it. It is disappointing because NIS have actually done a good job releasing Atlus games over here. I wonder if the Atlus, Sega and Index stuff screwed it up.

That's what I mean, if NoE have dropped it, contact Ghostlight. If they haven't, they'll be releasing it, right?

Has nobody really asked Nintendo what the deal was about SMT IV ? I guess nobody from the "gaming press" in Europe gives a shit about the game to bother to ask. It's been so long, wonder if they are still publishing it at all.

I've given up hope it's even coming.

Time to import a US 3DS.

Used I hope. They don't deserve to win more money by fucking their consumers with region lock in fucking 201X...

I'm so mad right now I'd get banned from the world if I spoke

Now would be the perfect time to release the game, the 3DS doesn't have any big games hitting for multiple months. It's ridiculous that there is another Etrian Odyssey being released in Europe, but they are skipping SMT4. It really looks like they decided to quietly cancel the game outside of Japan and USA without mentioning it so there would be no negative reaction. The lack of information on this game mixed with the lackluster lineup of games on 3DS in the future is making me unhappy with the future of the platform. I would have no problem with region locking if publishers were better with releasing games internationally, but with the state of publishing on Nintendo platforms this is completely unacceptable and it makes me want to stop supporting Nintendo consoles.

Why do people complain to nintendo about this? SMT isn't a nintendo game, its Atlus.

It's like people begging Nintendo to bring DQVII over instead of S-E. In that some companies don't give a shit about localizing games in certain regions.

Today was the day I have up hope of ever seeing it for sale here.

The way they handled that fucking EO trailer. Makes me think they don't even want to admit the game even exists anymore. And I'm someone who likes EO, so you'd think I'd be happy.

One day I'll import a US 3DS for it maybe, alongside Rune Factory 4 and countless other good games we will never see thanks to region locking.

Satoru Shibata specifically mentioned the game would be released, and given the history of Nintendo of Europe publishing third party titles some people had assumed Nintendo would be involved in bringing the game to Europe.

With us going nearly a year without news of SMT IV, and with EO:TMG actually getting announced before any news of SMT IV even though it was released later in every single region, I think it's time to officially give up.

Just going to cut my loses and import an american 3DS when I get the chance.

I am weighing up my options. But I will be discarding my EU 3DS in the process, so they will get one less new sale on this side of the pond as a consequence.

I'll see what sort of deal I can swing and go from there, I guess. At any rate, my Wii U and 3DS are going up for sale, and I'll use that cash to buy a US 3DS XL and whatever games I want to keep (probably just AA5 and Soul Hackers). As someone who doesn't love Nintendo first party too much, but enjoys a ton of the third party stuff we get, EU 3DS systems are a complete waste of time for me.

Why do people complain to nintendo about this? SMT isn't a nintendo game, its Atlus.
As far as we all know, Nintendo are the EU publisher of SMTIV. It was announced on their Direct, was listed as a Nintendo-published game on some materials or in some press asset FTP folder (or something like that), and was in their booth at the Japan Expo in Paris last year, if what I'm told was correct.

Nintendo can suck it. I'm through with them. Last hand held and last console I buy from them unless they make some huge changes.

It will come in the end (probably) but it's a Persona 4 Arena situation all over again. I've lost all the hype and I'll wait for a bomba bin sale.

Watch it be a digital-only release. Though at least that'd mean a way to play it without buying another fucking 3DS.
