Twitch streaming coming to Xbox One March 11

Twitch CEO Emmett Shear told the Associated Press this morning that live streaming is finally on the way, and will debut on March 11 alongside Titanfall.

"It's complete integration," Shear says. "It's exciting because we've never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters' party is really cool, and it's another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters."

Notably, Twitch live streaming has been part of the PlayStation 4 since the Sony console's launch. However, the PS4's Twitch app was created by Sony with Twitch's help, and doesn't allow users to connect to other broadcasters' parties.

how is it more integrated than the PS4 version? By parties they mean you can join a normal xbox live party so can audio chat with the broadcaster? But I thought that was limited to how many people can join, and generally sounds like a bad idea waiting to happen.

This may make the life of some popular streamers very miserable. Think about all those party chat invites flashing on screen all the time.

Great, I'll start streaming Fighter Within and Lococycle. ^^
(who am I kidding, I'll be playing Titanfall anyway... no need to stream that though, since everybody will do it and nobody will be watching)

I thought the PS4 integration also extended to interacting with a broadcaster's game if the game implements that SDK...which seems at least as 'deep' a type of integration to me as party joining options, albeit game specific.

Maybe there's other things about the XB1 implementation too.

Damn Microsoft, how big was that cheque you wrote for Titanfall? As an Xbox One owner, I am not complaining one bit that Microsoft are treating the launch of Titanfall as a huge deal.

I hope they haven't rushed March's update too much to match Titanfall. If they managed to fuck that up...

Then again, that's probably why suddenly they have a beta for an update.

Most twitch streams wont have massive numbers of viewers, so it should be quite nice for most people.

Surely the CEO of Twitch is pretty clued up on things to make that comment?
