Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 |OT4| Nothing Stops This Patch!

Welp looks like no SCR for me. Although UCI is less than a mile from me, I couldn't get myself to cough up $50+ dollars to play a couple games of marvel. I may have considered it more if they had casual stations set up so I could just play all day but last year they didn't have any up until the end of night. Good luck to all that are joining.

I don't blame you, I am considering going to NW Majors but $55 is too much to pay to probably go 0-2. If I do attend, I'll just go as a spectator and play a bunch of casuals hopefully.

Yeah GGs. I choke too easily. :(

If anyone's up for some games later tonight when I get home from work, I'm available.

Failed to join. >.<

Edit: Kind of annoyed, I can't even join a random lobby. Keeps giving me the failed to join message. -.-

Edit 2: Sorry Kadey, I really don't understand why it's not letting me. Going to restart it.

You may have to open ports on your router.

So you got a copy for 360 again, Mango? I'll have to play you sometime(though first I need to renew my XBL. Ran out a few days ago. Will probably renew on the weekend + get a new controller since my old one's analog stick rubber has worn off and doesn't like down+forward/back very much).

Yessir. Back on 360. What kind of controllers do you use? It's kinda weird that I've basically become a pad player since my stick broke, though I've yet to find a controller that I 100% like.

Just the normal 360 controller. It's not perfect by any means, but it's what I'm used to at this point and it works.

send me a friend invite mango so we play again.
Will do.

I've noticed different inconsistencies between the wired controllers, old wireless controllers, and the newer wireless controllers with the rotating dpad. The diagonals on the rotator are kinda shitty. Left on the pad on the old wireless starts to go out after a while, though you can immediately tell it's less responsive than the other directions. And the wired controllers (older or newer/pc) it seems that down is less responsive than the other directions.

In my opinion the old wireless one is the best

I've gone through something like 12 different 360 controllers. Soul Calibur and Tekken destroy my pads.

My main controller is one of those Halo 3 green wireless pads that still works well(though the down+forward/back are starting to go out) and I'd still use it if not for the fact the rubber on the stick is all gone(it's starting to give me blisters, which is annoying). I used to use a wired controller, but that one's down+forward/back are completely busted(if I try to go down+forward/back, it switches between down and forward at light speed so the characters are teabagging like nuts). Just gonna go with a wired one again, because I've been playing less Marvel 3 lately anyways, so it should last a while. I'm honestly lucky to have only had to go through two controllers over the years of Marvel 3, heh.

Maybe I'll make a new Doom vid soon. I feel like there's lots of unexplored potential with stuff like fly -> light finger lasers -> plink dash df to overhead them covered by your own finger lasers and stuff like that. Also, I've been messing around with better corner escapes and ways to stall in the air and be lame for as long as possible. Like super jump -> finger lasers -> fly -> finger lasers x2 or x3 is just the tip of the iceberg. I could be doing much lengthier sequences like: super jump -> finger laser -> h footdive -> plasma beam -> plasma beam -> air dash -> fly -> finger laser x3 -> finally land.

Link to your other videos?

This all sounds just awful. Though I'll happily use it against Zero or Vergil.

I haven't done much, haha. I want to do more vids like this one (in-depth analysis with clear explanations of various Doom stuff). That one is very specific about the Doom/Dante THC combo ender, but after I made that I've had the itch to do some more broadly appealing topics. Eventually, I'm thinking of doing Doom tutorials on a bunch of different basic topics- how to covert consistently off of all throws, confirms at different heights, general combo theory, mobility, corner mix-ups with assists and cross-up footdive, etc.

Last night I was experimenting with fly -> finger laser -> df plink dash as an offensive approach option and it's still new and fresh to me, so I want to make a video on it while I'm motivated, haha.

Am I wrong in imagining that people are mashing directions against me online when I go for my TACs? Because honest to god, I'm picking a random direction and am usually shocked when they get broken more than twice in a row.

When I play you (and others) I usually just go random direction unless I'm starting to notice a pattern over a long set (like they only go for up because they're better doing an infinite in that direction, or they want to steal my meter so Vergil isn't as derpy, etc)

Much like FSLink I just mash directions unless I notice a pattern. You seem to go for the same direction 2 or 3 times in a row probably thinking that I won't go that direction again.

I think you tend to go for more up and side TACs, so the majority of the time I pick one of those. But now that you've said it's pretty random, I feel dumb for thinking you would side TAC in order to get the combo going back to the corner.

...people do that?

I could be wrong, because I don't really go for TACs. For some reason I thought if you're in the corner on 2P side going right-left, you can start a combo and do a side tac which gets Frank coming in from 1P side left-right to push the combo back into the corner. Now that I type this out, I don't even think this is possible...?

Beef playing TAC mind games in the forum!

Not really, lol. I just get confused when people continuously break them. I can understand why God's Beard was able to do it when we played thanks to the Secret Tech, but online play is a mystery. The only time I decide to go for down TACs is when I notice that I'm low on meter, but I don't really pay attention to my meter.
