Does that matters if the message is the same? I'd even argue that GAF being essentially an aggregator for gaming news is even more dangerous than a news site sharing highly disclaimer-ed insider tidbits. That's just me, though.

Well yeah, is GAF big enough on its own for any particularly damaging messages to have a significant effect or is it because of numerous gaming press sites like dualshockers not filtering the stuff on here and reporting everything in addition to their own stuff? There are different expectations for a forum compared to a gaming press site.

Holy shit! That looks terrifying.

My very first post on GAF very exited!

Some of them are going to happen like the obvious games that will be shown. But is E3 time and there are always many rumors that come at this time of year. Is best to keep your hype level low, to not overhype things and be disappointed. One things Yoshida said in past interviews was that he did not want to make the same mistake of announcing games two years before release. He wanted to announces games that would come out shortly after the announcement. Still one can dream that some of these rumors are true, it would be amazing but it just sounds too good to be true.

Welcome!!!, and thread carefully, double/triple check your posts before you hit "submit" to avoid the ever present ban hammer... *cowers*

There's more reason to believe its questionable. The description of each title seems vaguely superficial and 'bare bones' which in exchange lends little authenticity to the existence of these projects: for example the stereotypical setting of Uncharted PS4, being set in a 'tropical clima' is kind of anticipated and no revelation that no ordinary gamer couldn't rationalise himself.

Further more, dualshockers doesn't have much credibility.

People who are getting excited over some name-dropping and some scarcely detailed information lack some critical thinking.

However they seem like educated guesses. Who knows, maybe some of these will be revealed.

Holy shit, really? Why can't they just be excited?

Assuming ND would only have knowledge of ND related info, I deduce from your stance the following:

-Uncharted 4 gameplay not being shown.
-The last of Us 2 announced. Only title credits.

Here you have it GAF. News squeezed straight from the source of the nectar.

Oh god Syphon Filter was THE SHIT during PS1 days, please be real. Also Uncharted, Project Beast, Guerrilla RPG and The Last Guardian? Not to mention Square Enix there to probably reaffirm people that FFXV is on its way as scheduled (hopefully show actual gameplay instead of just having a guy show up and GRRM it up). If most of these are real Sony won for me. MS has Fable which has always held a special place in my heart. But Fable has been pretty crappy the last few games. So unless they completely start from the ground up and go closer to Fable 1, I can't get too excited over it.

I am scared of their supposed japanese title. I really do hope it isn't some timed exclusive title I really want multiplat.

yeah seriously...Jokes aside , Imagine being in that situation.

Ya. Getting mauled by nuts crazed monkeys does not sound pleasant.

Syphon Filter. It has been so many years that I forgot how that game even plays. I'm interested in Guerrilla's new IP.

My take:

  • Uncharted trailer - Likely. After the VGX teaser, they have to show something. I doubt they'll show gameplay though.
  • Media Molecule on Morpheus - No. Too soon for showing Morpheus games. I doubt they'll talk about it at all.
  • GT6 PS4 - No. They don't want to compete with Driveclub.
  • God of War 4 - Likely. We know it's in development, so a teaser seems a safe bet.
  • Kill Strain == Syphon Filter - Seems random. It's probably a new IP, possibly Vita.
  • Wipeout - No. They killed the franchise when they closed Sony Liverpool.
  • Quantic Dream game - Too soon. QD just finished Beyond, they won't release another game before 2016.
  • The Order 1886 - Well duh!
  • Ninja Theory - Nonsense. They let them go after HS, why would they work with them again?
  • Sony London - No idea.
  • Guerrilla RPG - Yes. They have been rumored to be working on it, seems like a good time to show something.
  • InFamous:Second Son DLC - Why would they show it at the conference?
  • Project Beast - Yes. Supposed to be the big surprise, too bad for the leak.
  • The Last Guardian - Yes. The title was not canceled, it will be the big game for the holidays.

Your deduction is believable, and I'd be very happy with that, if they throw in some FFVX/KH3 trailers too.

IIRC this is the same website that puts up a news post every time famousmortimer or thuway write a tweet.

By this standard, we can all be journalists. Also, I got a dm from them once. I guess that makes me an insider. I should email dualshockers. We want Syphon Filter right? I'll write that in bold ;)

Well, NeoGAF is just as guilty of that as anywhere else, my friend. I see your point, though.
Well, yeah - but NeoGAF's mods and administrators try to prevent that sort of toxicity by holding posters accountable for the rumors they spread.

Anyway, as for these E3 rumors, I'm always of two minds about this stuff. Part of me wants to stop caring about this nonsense and just worry about my own site and my own work. But this sort of thing also pisses me off, not just because it's spreading misinformation to readers (and making some healthy advertising revenue along the way) but because it makes people less inclined to trust gaming websites in general. In the fight for better game journalism all around, the widespread success of this sort of careless rumor-mongering seems like a major loss. It's already on Reddit, N4G... we've even gotten a couple of tips linking us to that DualShockers article. Bums me out.

(Who the hell posts an article like this when they don't even know who the source is? And why echo fanboy nonsense like "Gorgeous. They’re back with a bang" and "It’s shaping up to be incredible with jaw-dropping visuals"? Sigh.)

Stop playing with my heart. We all know the reason you're playing coy is because Naughty Dog reacquired the Crash Bandicoot license and is making Crash Team Racing 2
