Slay isn't any dumber than Veigue, Rid, or Stan. Granted, Rid and Stan were localized to Reid and Stahn. Maybe we'll get... Slaey? Slaay? Slayy?

Not sure how this is a fair comparison. In the same damn game you have "Lion". To them "Stan" looks exotic enough if they ever show his name in English writing and it's still pronounced "StAHN".

Looks like a fusion to me. Though I didn't expect the playable character to literally fuse together, thought it'd be like a unison attack/link arte type thing despite "Fusionic Chain" being described in the systems.

Looks like it. Leila I think it was uses fire and he was partnered up with her when he did it.

Would be cool if the other human characters can transform as well.

Each of the not humans probably have an element corresponding to their clothing colors (obviously). Maybe that determines the transformation?

i only played very little of xillia, so i don't have a lot of experience with the tales series, but that trailer was pretty cool
slay's awakened form looks pretty badass
