I'm going to guess there will be screenshots, a recap of Bungie day/collector's edition shenanigans, a site update (or explanation of why it didn't go up) and maybe some Beta info. They could just as easily release Beta info next week before it goes up, but I think they'll want to make use of the exposure beforehand.
So any more word on if we will see the ship swoop in and drop everyone off when you land on a planet?

I don't think there has been any official word. It's probably a very script-dependent sequence that was cut like the destructible set-pieces seen in Public Events.

This. Its such a small thing that would add so much to the experience IMO. If other players could see my ship outside of the loading screen I would want to spend more time and shimmer on a better ship.
Isn't there also supposed to be a hangar in the tower? My guess would be that is where that big door at the center of the tower that was closed leads to..

The Hanger was in one of the side Towers. The Vanguard vendor and Future War Cult representative were located there, as was the Ship Vendor (I forget what her title was).

The Hangar was in the game during Alpha. It's the interior area to your right when you load into The Tower. It has two of the three faction vendors in there.

It was definitely The Hangar. I belive it was labeled as such on the map of The Tower? The area with the actual ships was on the other side of the gate/mesh barrier that was behind the Vanguard and Ship vendors.
Edit: Meaning we couldn't physically visit the ships.

Titan can hear and talk but doesn't watch where he's going and blindly rushes to his death.
Warlock can see and run his mouth about how awesome his space magic is, but doesn't hear the sniper firing his direction.
Hunter keeps silent to focus on the battlefield and spot her foes before they spot her.

Sorry, could you repeat that? Couldn't hear you over the gap in the poll between where Warlocks are and where Hunters are; it's so wide it's outside of sniper rifle range. Also my space magic is being really awesome and loud.

I LIKE ALL CLASSES.
It was blocked off in the Alpha. Probably an important NPC or the remaining two faction leaders are in there. Might be accessible in the Beta, we shall see.
