Xenoblade Chronicles isn't that great of a game, the characters are bland and have annoying voice acting and I wouldn't care if Shulk wasn't in Smash 4.

I even hate Marth but wouldn't cut him. I try not to think of myself when it comes to what I want for the roster though, and I'm not that picky when it comes to characters.

You show me a few of Falco's moves and I would say the same thing about Fox. Doesn't mean anything, clones are an expected and accepted thing in fighting games.

Wouldn't they showcase her unique points in this kind of reveal trailer? This wasn't a random selection of moves, but something deliberatively chosen to showcase her. It seems odd that they'd showcase her and not highlight any unique points of her character.

That said, I think she's going to be a clone that heavily reuses Marth's animations, rather than a costume, but I really don't think she has any secret uniqueness waiting to be discovered, aside from obviously changed proprieties of her attacks.

Yeah, this makes a lot of sense. The best argument I've seen for her being a standalone character is that picture of her whole sword lighting up vs only the tip of Marth's (no sweet spot?)

Not a newcomer, but I want to see Wario honestly. He was pretty expressive in Brawl and Smash 4 has improved the expressions of all characters by a lot so he should be great. Also I think he'll benefit greatly from the more colourful art style.

That's a good one, but I'm not sure it's the right sort of track for a fight... Then again, Kraid's lair has a good remix in Melee that's also moody.

So I'm posting this because some people do not understand why the site layout is the way it is. I most likely won't respond to any post responding to this cause I don't want to partake in this dumb argument.

Here is an image of the mobile site:


Click the image and you will see a full image of the website from the newcomers all the way to the veterans. Newcomers have a wide banner for a reason, and it should be explanatory just by viewing the images. They are the ones they want to showcase to anyone visiting their site on mobile.

As you can see, Lucina is there along with every other newcomer. Using a square on the mobile site would obviously look odd with how every other newcomer has a rectangle.

Now here is an image of the normal site:

Every newcomer has a rectangle box except for Lucina, but we know she is a newcomer just by going to her page and seeing the "NEWCOMER" ribbon. Now why is that? I think it is cause Lucina doesn't have artwork to showcase on her page, but she technically did get artwork since she appears on Robin's artwork:

Of course people are going to argue "but it isn't on her page, so it doesn't count" and what not, but I simply don't see it any other way.

Now Mii Fighters didn't get artwork either, yet they have a rectangle, but here's the thing, there are 3 Miis there that wouldn't fit on a square showcasing them well. Here's an example from the OP in this thread:

So in conclusion, there is no way the website's layout could possibly used as an argument that she is an alt. Respond if you would want to.

The goal of the page is to make the three characters announced today the three newest icons on the page. As you size down your window, this means you can't have two of those three icons be wide 3x banners. The 5x window width allows for 5 small icons, or one 3x icon and 2 small icons. If Lucina and Robin were both 3x, that window width would break.

They put themselves in a difficult situation by announcing two newcomers and one returning character, the site was built with the assumption that there would be more recurring characters between or in conjunction with each reveal in order to keep things organized. This time that wasn't the case, they couldn't have two 3x banners at the same time without two small icons to act as buffer. Since there was only one recurring character, they were forced to demote one of the 3x banners to the small icon size on the desktop site.

On the mobile site this isn't an issue, since their layout does not need to scale to the same width. Accordingly, they can use the full banner size.

Anyone using this to try and justify Lucina being categorized as some alternate form of character is completely out of their mind. It is a simple layout issue.

In my opinion, Metroid 2 not only has the worst Metroid soundtrack, but one of the worst game soundtracks out there period. which is pretty amazing considering the series great history in the field.

Half of it isn't even music.
