I had that same issue making my wallpaper. I just used the main picture on their pages. It's smaller, but the background is transparent.

The E3 press kit has cutouts of everyone revealed up to Pac-Man (no Robin, Lucina, or Falcon).

I would suggest using something other than imgur to host the images. Too much compression.

How are people arriving at 38 characters currently?
There's 36 on the site. 37 if you count G&W. 39 if you count the Mii Fighters seperately and G&W. I guess there's 38 if you count the Mii Fighters seperately but not G&W...but eh, seems odd to do that to me.

The only thing about Ms. Pac-Man I'm not sure about is that her name will have to appear on the box otherwise it would look weird under "Pac-Man". Villager/Wii Fit Trainer/Robin don't have this problem. Unless of course the name simply changes like how it did with Charizard/Ivysaur/Squirtle and Zelda/Sheik. However, now that transforming characters were gone, this would be the only exception.
Also, why is she called Ms. Pac-Man and not Pac-Woman or Pac-Lady lol

I think it's similar to how they're saying Brawl has 39 characters, when technically there are only 35 on the select screen. So, in that sense, Mii Fighters are 3 separate characters.

People are waiting for official announcements on characters. G&W is obviously in, as is Ice Climbers (Smash Run stuff), Wario (assist trophies), and probably a Rhythm Heaven character (since all Smash Run characters so far come from series with playable reps).
But as far as officially unveiled fighters go, we're at 38 (counting Mii as 3 characters).
Any objections, Pac-Lady?
Mii is definitely three characters if you look at their moveset breakdowns, yeah.

I suppose there's a chance now that Ms. Pac-Man could be a Pac-Man clone along the lines of Lucina.

As for Ms. Pac-man, doubting that she'll be an alt costume. I think the rule is that alt-costumes can't change who the actual character is.
Yeah. People were expecting maybe 40 characters, but I think we're going to get at least 50.

Personally I don't count them as three as they aren't even usuable online. I can see why people might and I probably will when "officially" talking about the character count, but to me right now there are 36 characters. Infact, 35 if I don't count Mii at all since it's not usuable online and could also be banned from tournaments and casual play that won't include custom movesets. (Unless there's an agreed upon default Mii like every other character)

Yeah, I remember Sakurai had some quote that made people think there was going to be fewer fighter than in Brawl. And now we're here, expecting 48-50 fighters.

That just reminded me. Kid Icarus Uprising's pre-launch promo didn't feature anything beyond the first arc of the game, and that's fairly new. It really makes me think that we aren't getting unlockable content pre-launch, aside from third parties.

Either way it would be very shameful if a new smash game had fewer characters then it's prequel.

I don't see veterans ever getting a trailer without a newcomer. Ever.
Also, for the necomer trailer, do you mean to say that ganondorf, snake, and mewtwo will be in a trailer alongside a newcomer... or that they're the newcomer? If it's the latter, that will also never happen.

Funky on his hands and feet does seem odd but Dixie is the only logical choice now. If she has to be a clone she better be semi cloned. Her with a jet pack and bananas would really put me off. Her design alone gives me the idea that she could be very very unique as apposed to someone like Kiddy or K Rool. With Kiddy his body lends himself to another Donkey kong. With fairly generic K Rool I see him jumping high like Dedede, shooting spike balls like Dedede, sucking people in like Dedede and just basically using generic attacks that seem unique cause they are gadgets. Dixie on the other hand has the whole 5th strong arm that even Diddy doesn't have with his tail. The whole propellor thing just seems like a lot of fun as well.
