I am sad. Banned or not - I would have loved to see a real discussion about the way XBone is bashed here on a regular basis. I understand that GAF is just a very unique thing and crowds behave in certain ways that are at times not very intuitive, but man... the quality of many posts just suffers lately. GAF now is a lot less entertaining than in the hyped up guessing phase before the new consoless were announced. I am sure lots of it has to do with bolstering and buyers remorse and all those physiological effects.

But still: GAF is not as ccol as in that GT-documentary. :-(

You gotta be aggressive when it comes to opinions or ideas you disagree with. But you have to be diplomatic and witty, instead of acting feverish and volatile.

The Flames got Mark Giordano, just what the hell? OP deserves a ban for not only being off-topic but just straight up being hella wrong.

He had an email that appears to be PR-related. But there's no proof he was paid by Microsoft to say anything he did. It could easily be a case where he has a strong opinion and an incorrect assumption was made that he was paid to say it.

It's been said that PR people are free to contact the mods in advance about their affiliations, and some have done that, but I'm not sure everyone would think to do that if they're just posting here in a casual capacity.

I think there's a very good chance the OP is completely innocent. I just worry incidents like this create a culture where people are constantly second-guessing what they say for fear they'll "look" a certain way.

Are you saying he didn't have a total meltdown and act a fool? A lot of people can't see the forest for the trees in this thread.

He deserved to be banned for being a dickhead to a majority of the forum.

Don't care if he got banned or not, that wasn't my point, plus I've seen members be major dicks to other members and they're still here talking shit. So that's no reason to be banned if you ask me.

What I meant was let's not dismiss his entire OP because he got banned for being accused of working in PR.

I can't tell whether Samuel L. Jackson is doing weird shit on the side to source these .gifs or if they're just shopped anymore.

Do I win a prize for talking about my penis on the Internet???
Well OP is factually correct, this place is less than friendly to the fated Xbone. Sadly there was a touch too much angst and accusation in his post and well now he's hanging in the gallows for all the children to mock.

Edit: Thread title keeps leveling up

.

That's probably not the reason for the banning.

I thought his post seemed lighthearted, hence the stills from Aliens 3. But that's neither here nor there. It appears he was banned on the assumption he not only works in PR but on behalf of Microsoft. But we have no actual proof he works for Microsoft.

Come to think of it, the whole business about PR people coming forth about their affiliations doesn't seem like a foolproof system when someone could lie about who they work for. So if someone signed up here with a PR account, what's to stop them from contacting the mods, saying "I work for PR but not X, Y and Z," and then proceeding to work for them, anyways?

The point is, someone can work in PR, but that doesn't mean they work a specific company. Someone can have strong opinions about something a company makes, but just because they're in PR that doesn't mean they're paid by that company to represent that company.

I don't know. I've been let down so much I can't even dream of play off spot.

Playoffs are still at least 2 years away for the Oil minimum. Some good players up front but that lack of depth at center and soft defense is just going to keep killing them.

Really wish I could fast forward to a time where the Battle of Alberta is actually a battle and not just a contest to see who can avoid sinking closest to the bottom.

All the people delighted about the discovery of a Microsoft shill who didn't bother to read the thread made his point better than the first post.

I think OP shill or not made some points I agree with (I'm going under the assumption that the facts stated were accurate) that could've been delivered without being so fucking condescending. I've felt at different times that some people here really think owning an Xbox One equates to a crime or something, like someone can't possibly enjoy owning one. It's almost become pointless arguing about the merits of owning one, I just know I enjoy it.

bitch I'm taking calls.
At the end of the day, he was either posting scripted opinion as a PR man or an irrational fanboy posting inflammatory FUD. Both are disgusting roles and deserving of a ban.

Kiprusoff was never a great goalie and overpaying all these washed up vets kinda just hurt them in the end... They were 80 percent there but... Not quite.. Now it's dreaded rebuild time.

Off topic (lol) - ps3 was never a hot mess, it was a high priced, high end system. If you bought a 60 gig you never looked back

members and Junior are questioning if he was truly AstroTurfing.

Then there's this:

There may be some issues with reading comprehension on the end of a few users.

The website belonging to the email domain of the OP does not offer any products or services that are actually PR, instead they seem to offer a database of journalists and industry contacts which you can purchase from them along with other supplementary stuff that a PR firm may find useful.
