Played more of the demo, getting the hang of things on the controls but I still want shield on L lol. In general, my hand sorta starts to cramp on the OG 3DS so I'm not sure if I should get an XL because of that... yet. As besides the hand cramping, I can see pretty fine on the OG 3DS screen despite its size.

That said, the gameplay I can't really judge 100% against CPUs because they have stupid ridiculous reaction times. I can't really get a feel for what's possible at high % for combos because the AI always air dodges as soon as it can when hitstun is over -- something that a human player definitely won't be able or choose to do every time (at least not this early in the meta).

I've been playing Link the most in the demo because he's the one I'm most familiar with. It seems like he can KO pretty decently if you don't use any of his KO moves at low%s (things like Ftilt, Fsmash, Up B). You're going to want to use his Nair, Bair, and jabs at low%, maybe a little Ftilt if you think it's worth losing a bit of its KO potential because of stale moves. Use his boomerang and bombs, too, obviously but it doesn't seem like either of them will help set up for combos like in previous games -- they're more for keepaway as far as I can tell.

You really just need to be conscious of stale moves at all times just like in Brawl. Stale moves feels like it's just as strong as in Brawl, which is a shame as it's only compounding the issue of the large blastzones. They really shouldn't have kept stale moves the same and gone back to how it was in Melee (only damage is reduced, knockback remains the same).

But anyway, Link does feel better than he did in Brawl and part of that is because of some of the key changes: Up B is stronger at its base without needing to charge it (the charge also doesn't get in the way of using it out of shield), Ftilt is stronger, boomerang is actually usable for damage, Nair is better (it feels like it's out for a longer period of time than Brawl but it's hard to tell), and of course his grab isn't terribad when you whiff it.

I could see Link actually being somewhere in the middle this time around but it really depends on how the other characters shape up (especially some of the newcomers who have much stronger keepaway like Duck Hunt or Robin).

IntelliHeath

As in "Heathcliff"
Although others have probably done it, I've been cataloguing things for the site and was just finishing Kirby hats

Look so adorable XD

Yo Intelliheath have you found any new links with Ganondorf's faster moves? I'm seeing some good looking shit outta his running shoulder popping them above him now for setups.

Not yet. I have seen hashtag talking about his customization moves which sound amazing! :)

So weird Isaac isn't an AT, is he a trophy?

No one found Isaac AT or trophy.

So i just got the Nintendo club platinum NA demo and i cant get through a match without it freezing half way or so. Crashes to home screen.

I just purchased a used 3ds xl and have no other games to test with. Im using a micro sd inside an sd adapter for the download. Any ideas where the culprit would be?

Can i redownload it if i delete it?

SD card sounds likely. You can redownload the demo any number of times as long as you don't format your 3DS and delete your shop account.

I'd try redownloading it first.

What we know is that Smash is VERY intensive on 3DS, so far it cannot multitask like all other games can and has to reboot your system when you close it.

What i'm guessing is your SD may not be Class 10? If so, that's probably why, it may not be fast enough.

I'm probably wrong, but it's an idea worth considering.

So you can customize the controls in the full version right?

Yeah. Worth noting that you couldn't seem to change what functions there were, just reassign them. What I mean is, like, I could move grab to Y, but then L had to be a jump button. I couldn't move grab to Y, make L shield and leave X as the only jump button. But maybe I was just too dumb to figure that out? Hard to tell, its all in Japanese lol.

Thanks for all the info as well as others. Going to try what is suggested here.

I'm English so I have no idea what you just said, but sure why not...if everyone can use them.
Just because it exists to be used in the game (like metal bats for baseball), does not mean it should be allowed for competitive play when money is on the line (in the case of baseball, a major leaguer cannot use a metal bat because they could seriously kill someone lol).
You're confusing custom moves for character gear. Character gear is inherently randomized and unbalanced, and would not be allowed at tournaments.

Custom moves are just options for different ways to attack.

A more apt comparison would be a pitcher opting to use a curveball instead of pitching straight.
Oh, I'd want Custom Moves in tournaments lol, I was just directing my comment towards allowing 100% of the stuff included in the game for tournaments, like items.

Wow, Greninja's Substitute is a really good kill move, especially if you opt to teleport above the opponent. Killed heavier characters like Charizard and Link at 80% or so.

Edit: Although Prism Tower might just have small blast zones, too.

Uh, that's a horrible parallel then because nobody's safety is on the line if you use items or whatever in tournaments

Try a repair first.

If you just got the XL you could just go back to the 4GB card that should have come with it.

But their money is. Spending thousands a year to travel around to tournaments is quite a big deal for a competitive gamer, and allowing something like a random explosive capsule spawning in front of them to determine the outcome of a match is unfair IMO.

His up smash got buffed too. It's now capable of killing Link (a heavy fast faller) around 120%, which I believe makes it a bit stronger than ftilt. The fact that it does 19% fresh is nice too. His back roll is much better now too.

Earlier someone mentioned Zero having matches against a Duck Hunt player, right? Are there any links to that?

So after having played the demo, did I just get rusty or did the level 9 CPUs get a lot...faster? I dunno, maybe it's just the controls, but I feel really sluggish compared the computers, like my inputs are taking longer.

That or they just have prescience.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
So, what's the actual names of the new stages?

Is the F-Zero Stage called Mute City, or just F-Zero?

CPUs have intentionally insane reaction times. The higher the level they are, the quicker they are to react -- LV. 9s air dodge as soon as it's possible, they powershield, etc etc. CPUs aren't that great to play against because of that as a human can't hope to have those same reaction times.

You find cosmetics for your Mii as you play. Those are cosmetics. Unless they're tied to some achievement or something?

Most of the Mii customization parts are found the same way as other customization parts, though the Waluigi hat and top hat are tied to Challenges (playing as Luigi 3 times and making 8 Mii Fighters, respectively).

I love how smooth this game runs and even manages some great looking visuals. The screenshots of the 3DS version had left me worried but it looks fantastic in motion, I can't wait for the big experience on the Wii U. God help you if you want to go to the home menu and launch something else though, after playing it I would easily believe the explanation of the hardware not being strong enough to have the game and Miiverse running at the same time.

I don't know if it is just Pikachu, but it seems you need a lot more damage done to get a guaranteed kill.

This is based solely on the demo of course. Can't wait to give Lucina a try.
