So what's the first big tournament to feature Smash 3DS? (not these mini tournaments)
I really love Megaman. I didn't think I would, but I do. Yeah, his special moves aren't that great, and his recovery kinda sucks, but good aerials are awesome, his dsmash and usmash are great, his utilt is awesome, he's got speed and combo potential, and his throws are pretty good. He doesn't have ftilt or neutral, but whatever. I think his fsmash is cool, actually.
Anyway, just demo impressions, but I megaman so far, and I didn't even consider him before.

Mega Man's smashes more than make up for his weaker specials.
Thankfully, this is possible and Sakurai has mentioned things like that. It will be a shame if people consider Mega man shit tier...

Noticed Wario's UAir doesn't have as much knockback as before though he seems like he has better KO moves otherwise. (like FTilt is way better at KOing now it seems lol)
Also think his new purple alt is pretty sweet. No substitute for orange though!

Nothing yet that I've seen. I don't think we'll see anything too big until the US release is out there and probably not until a week or two after that.

I love that Alph's alts represent Brittany & Charlie.
Also, that Lucina's represent other Awakening females.
Overall, they did a pretty good job with the alt colours/costumes.
Although a (selfish) part of me kind of wishes there'd be more revealed in the Wii U version, I know it's not going to happen.

I love the alts. My only change would be to give Marth red hair for the Roy alt.

Funnily enough, the tournament that took place at my school yesterday was formed to be for Smash 3DS when it coming in the summer. It did have some smash 3DS there but it was far from competitive. It was a little section of 4 3DS right next to where the commentators were.
Yup. Now, even at 300%, it doesn't have that much knockback.

I knew I recognized that colour scheme from somewhere! It's been bugging me since that Famitsu guide leaked, lol.
It's a tad strange how some characters change skin or hair/fur color for their alts, while others don't at all.
It bugs me that one one of the Villager's alts has a different hair colour.
In a few hours:

That's a good question. I'm still hoping for DLC. Ice climbers on New3DS would be ideal. I'd complain about it, but i'll be on Wii U by then anyway.

Question for Mega Man mains with access to the game. Could leaf shield be useful for edge hogging? Like could you knock someone off, activate it, and then grab onto the ledge to keep people away? It bugs me that everything I've heard seems to paint the move as essentially useless.

It has barely any damage/knockback, so I don't think so. I've had it semi-useful when going in for grabs (to interrupt an enemy attack while I come in) but it's literally the only thing you can do besides shoot out the leaves.

I see a lot of potential in Shulk. I've seen streamers making excellent use of the Speed and Shield arts, and even the Jump art, using it to edgeguard by following people below the stage, spiking them and then leaping back to safety with the extended jump. To my surprise, it's the Buster and Smash arts that people seem to struggle with, since they don't take into account the debuffs that accompany the buffs, I.E. someone will switch to Smash to launch foes, but won't consider how Shulk becomes easier to launch, as well. I think Shulk will really shine once people get a handle on when and where to use each art, and once people get used to cycling through the arts in the heat of battle.

you have no idea. i did some artwork for a game company once and they had to approve it. they sent me a 35 page documents what i can and can't do. this character can't stand close to that or you can't have red near that character and trivial shit you wouldn't believe.
they had to approve it and checked every single color of every inch.
