Miiverse stage like Pictochat, except instead of drawings it's the great and insightful posts you'd typically see on Miiverse.
Featuring actual miiverse posts
wait Miiverse is disablad when you're playing Smash.

I would actually like a Flipnote stage. It would work similarly to Pictochat. But Pictochat 2 makes that seem unlikely.

So guys, if Nintendo were to add DLC stages to Smash 3DS, what levels would you like to see?

If they're not in the WiiU version, maybe The Mole Train (DKCR3D), Zoness (Star Fox 64 3D) and Saturn Valley (Mother 2/3), as well as a new Icicle Mountain, if DLC brings back Ice Climbers.

Mt. Silver Summit (Pokémon HGSS): The Pokémon Trainer appears as a hazard and uses Ivysaur and Squirtle instead of their evolutions to recycle models. An icy mountain stage is nice now that the Ice Climbers are gone.
Sector 3 (Metroid Fusion): Lots of lava and surprise encounters with a famous enemy from Samus' past (not canon).
Wario's Castle (Wario Land 2): A typical castle. Sometimes water appears from inside.

Edit: Melee had an upward-scrolling IC stage, didn't it? I seem to remember it being really annoying.

Yes it did.

Posted some time stamps for the character breakdowns D1 did on stream yesterday in the FGW thread, so I might as well paste them here too.

Murasame Castle (because I want that new song playing on a stage and you can never go wrong with castle rooftop levels), Zoness (glad I've sold more people on that), Tane Tane Island (Mother 3), Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy (Yoshi's Island), Mario's Castle/Macro Zone (Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins), Kremlantis (Donkey Kong Land), SR388 (Metroid 2).

Thanks for those time stamp. I should give it a shot when I get home. I saw your other post but forget to comment on it.

Takamaru's stage would be amazing for Wii U!

Getting the Smash demo was really bad timing for my trying to play Bravely Default for the first time. Whenever I get the chance to turn on the 3DS I'm like "why play that when I can play a severely limited version of Smash". It's weird.

Anyway I've been getting really accustomed to Mega Man and how he works, and he's the one I'm most interested to try against human players. You can only get so good when playing level 9's.

I'm also fairly terrible with Villager lol. I know that with the right strategy he's awesome (and the tree is a killing machine if you land it) but I don't see myself being able to hold my own against others with him. Maybe more practice in lieu of playing Bravely Default would fix that...

Wario and Jigglypuff are excellent characters for this. Their high air speed combined with a fantastic set of aerials should get you used to the air. Wario's aerials are easier to land due to their long active hitbox but Puff stays in the air a lot longer. Try both out.

A Link main would have a good projectile game. :p

What's causing you to whiff? 'Landing aerials' is a really vague thing, and a lot of it just depends on how your opponent is moving; observe their habits, when they advance/retreat/shield etc. If it's a laggy aerial, make sure you autocancel it or use it off stage. If it's not, worry more about staying safe after it than always hitting them. In theory, I'm thinking it would help to space aerials just in front of opponents. Then it hits them if they come in, and if you place it right you're safe if they try to retaliate, and it might even scare them into retreating and giving you stage control. I'm not really sure that plan is smart right now though, since this game is pretty different from what I'm used to. I'm just kinda tossing out thoughts here, I'm not actually good enough to be giving advice lol.

I'm just really bad at hitting people midair with link/toon link. My air game suffers a lot as I can never land that last hit once i've hit them off the edge or way up into the air. I basically rely on ground smash attacks to KO.

I'll just practice some more, I guess. My timing is just way off.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if it's possible for Villager to recover with both Gyroid Rocket (side B) and Balloon Trip (up B)? I played the demo on a friend's 3DS and was able to do both without having to touch the ground first, but someone else has claimed that Gyroid Rocket puts Villager into a freefall state.

Yeah, Noriyuki Iwadare is a beast. The Ace Attorney games wouldn't be the same without his music., not even close. And he worked on Grandia too, as if the AA games weren't enough to establish his credentials.

Also, I'm starting to beat Lvl 9 CPUs in the demo with Villager pretty consistently. I think they do a very bad job of reading the tree though, and what I do is dodge a lot and abuse the tree lol trying to beat them with Pikachu is a lot more difficult, but I manage it sometimes by following them out of the edge and trying to throw them further towards the blast zone.

So much fun.

If you get on the gyroid, you will go into free fall when you get off unless if you land a hit on someone. What you want to do is use the rocket to clear a path for yourself, but not get on top of it, then use the balloons to recover. Balloons are pretty much better in every situation anyway.

Nobuko Toda is a woman. She scored a lot of the recent Metal Gear games.

I specifically looked it up suspicious of the "ko" in her name and the site I found said it was a man. :/

Not sure what you mean. Speaking of ATs, though, I -love- the new Sheriff AT. It even fires up and down as it scuttles through the air, lol.

For example, Ashley and Shadow do the exact same thing. Slow down a large area for all players sans the one who summoned him.

Don't feel too bad about that, it's pretty hard. Especially while still getting used to all the physics of a new game. Even still most of the time they can air dodge or fast fall or up b on reaction and beat your aerial attempt. And all that after you already have to sorta kinda guess if they're coming in high/low.

Some things to try maybe, dunno if they'll work at all: with Link, jump to just above where you think they'll be, and fall with a nair. The nair might even end while they're dodging, and let you double jump into nair again, or letting you intercept them with up B.

With Link's dair, guess where they're going and double jump just before you input the aerial. I don't know the timing on the spike, but that should give you plenty of time to poke the move out there, and let you recover easily.

With T. Link, I would think just try your best to follow them and space fair/bair.

Also, Masakazu Sugimori was the composer for the original and second Phoenix Wright.

Iwadare started on that series from the third game onward.

Man Sonic is just SO much better this time around. I don't know that I could main him, though, because my reflexes aren't good enough to handle his speed.

Edit: Melee had an upward-scrolling IC stage, didn't it? I seem to remember it being really annoying.

As a brawl sonic main, this is good to hear. Any details about what makes him so much better?

Uh, putting on the mask is one of her taunts. She keeps it until you do the taunt again. This was even specifically explained in a PotD.

She puts the mask and then removes it instantly, sir.

That's her taunt. If you figure out a way to keep it please do inform me how.

It's as good as the game allowed me. It's closest to the cartridge quality you can get, which, sadly, isn't too high (20khz/100kbit).
I guess they had to reduce the filesize somehow.

Good enough for me. Hopefully all tracks will be on the Wii U version as well so we can get less compressed tracks.

Well he mostly seems to have a LOT more kill moves. You should search for Sonic videos on youtube. There was a really close match between him and Yoshi, but I don't have the link offhand. I haven't played him yet, though, since I only have the demo and didn't get a chance to use him at E3.

Air dodging is so crazy this game. You can be in a dodge state for like 80% of your air time. You have to predict when they'll do it and attack around that. So tough.

Lvl 9 cpu is a god at dodging, sometimes.

Okay, since I love ya'll, here's the link to my folder containing the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS OST in MP3 (22khz / 160kbit):

Please give it a few minutes to upload the remaining files (might take up to 30min).
