Are...are those the actual lyrics?

I should finish that mode one day...if it'll let me.

Captain Falcon will always be bound!
Hot on the trail! Tracking rogues down!
GIVE IT UP FOR THE CAPPYTAN
THREE CHEERS FOR THE FAAAAALCAN

God tier. After that the song kind of loses the plot in the most glorious way

So I looked at the Japanese amazon page for Smash Bros 3DS and noticed the buyer reviews were all over the place. Anyone that knows Japanese care to sum up why everyone is so divided?

Okay, so I looked over some of the one-star reviews...

Uh, there was one guy who said he was banned for cheating online, and other that said it was boring after five minutes. Cbf reading any of the really long ones.

A medley that incorporated the Blood Falcon theme would be great to see in the Wii U version. Heavily accented, deep-voiced Japanese vocalists seductively intoning random English words over autotuned shrieking can improve any soundtrack.

How to completely break the game and kill master core easy:
1) Learn some dodge patterns, you gonna need them.
2) Get Link's Custom B 2
3) Get some swords that increase attack
4) Get the +7 -40 sword. It'll have a critical hit effect.
5) Equip all of the above.
You now have an arrow that'll do about 30% when charged, equipment to do hella damage, and a piece of equipment that triples damage 20% of the time. You will KO almost anything within 5 hits. I can tell you with no ego, this is the finest sword in the game. If on your journey, you should encounter God, God will be cut.

I'm stealing this if I have trouble.
Peach's floating ability seems like the perfect ability for master core lol. Just floating off stage to avoid most attacks.

Any sword user should be able to equip the sword that makes stuff so broken.
But anyways, it beat lizard core in two hits, sword core in 5, and shadow you in 5. It is broken as hell.

EDIT: It's both a badge and a sword. Literally anyone can do this.

Even better. Finally I can get revenge for Melee/Brawl's nearly impossible Very hard/Intense difficulties for Adventure, Classic, and All Star.

Dedede's Side B 3 seems real good. He tosses it and the Gordo bounces back and forth in an arc once it hits the ground.

edit: yo the Yoshi up-b glitch on NinjaLink's stream.

I've loved every Smash item to date except that. It's not because of my anti-SS bias (I love the Beetle), but it's far too cheap for my liking.

Like, cheaper than Super Sonic FS cheap. It's just so easy.

Get some speed and run against it.

If you can at least move as fast as the gust bellows can push then all is good.

Okay, I've played online a bit with the North American version. There's nothing in my NDA about talking about online play in general, so I can elaborate on my experiences.

  • I only seem to be able to get into matches with people from Japan
  • Even against Japanese people it's not *that* laggy, but whether you get in a good "room" or not can greatly vary the game's performance.
  • The first match I played was particularly laggy, to the point where there was a good second of input lag sometimes
  • I've been doing pretty well in For Fun mode, all things considered. Won my first match by a good amount
  • I have a 50 Mbps Interent connection with an Apple Time Capsule as a router and I'm no more than 6 feet away from it
  • There are a couple of features listed in my NDA that I had not heard of before for the game in general, but it's likely because I stopped reading the news super closely once I got the Japanese version. No megatons or anything.

Would you say it's considerably better than Brawl's online?

Thank you very much.

Do you know anyone else in the press with the copy to test playing with another NA person?

Yes. Even only playing against people across the world I've never experienced anything close to Brawl-level crapiness. Matches typically take about 15-20 seconds to find a fully lobby and then only an extra maybe 20 or so to load and get going. Much better time overall, but still really shaky across seas. We'll see if I can't find anyone a little closer to play against, though.

Just played a For Glory team match and I was the only one KO'd. Expect your For Glory match percentages to go well over 200% because I was fully charged smashing people with Zelda at 160%+ and it even did the "huge hit/KO" lightning thing, but no one else really got close to being KO'd.

What's everyone's impressions on how Zero Suit Samus plays? Have those space heels really powered her up after all?

From what I've seen, she got a huge buff from Brawl to 4 because of the new changes. She hits hard, moves fast and keeps it stylish.

Speaking of, her customs sound amazing based on that text dump that was linked earlier in the thread. I'm going to start posting builds soon a la Pokemon Showdown movesets.

Unfortunately the other press people I know in NA don't have copies yet and we only received a single copy of the game here. : /

If anyone else around here is press and has an NA copy, definitely PM me and we'll friend code swap.

Been playing classic mode. Never ever pick a Zelda stage in classic because 9 out of 10 times it's going to be Spirit Train and that level is by far one of the worst levels ever if you're just trying to clear classic mode. If you want to have zany multiplayer fun with your friends, sure, it's good for that. But when you're trying to get to Master Core and you can't die a whole lot, having the train completely disappear out from under you while you fly to your death sure gets frustrating.

...Git gud?

Sorry. D:

Thank you for answering. Hope you can test it out soon.

Everyone knows this is the secret AAA+ Tier F-Zero song.

"When myopic confusion threatens your lunch, Falcon will be unleashing a Falcon Punch..."

Every song we've mentioned so far deserves to be in Smash, but this one, Shotgun Kiss, and Nintendo Land's Fire Field remixes are the ones that NEED to be in there. And maybe also Dr. Stewart's theme.

Would anyone like to play my brokendorf or broken mac? It'll probably just completely destroy everything because lolequipment.

You are going to be a reason why people are going to ban equipments :p What a shame that we can't really detect if characters actually use equipments or not

We should organize a tournament called "The Great GAF Arms Race" where all equipment is allowed. No restrictions. The more broken, the better!

EDIT: Wait, is equipment allowed in For Glory against randoms?

You can after the match, iirc, at least in local play. You'll see a circle on the character's portrait that shows how their buffs have been arranged. If it's grey, they have no equipment on.

Nope.

Bowsers with high speed and power galore!....assuming something like that can be made.
