I think we should take bets on when KHlover gets the game, since Germany and street dates don't really mix :p

They can't produce enough. The new shipment already sold out in Japan.

Well I can't speak to Nintendo's ability to manufacture carts but is there anything else those plants have to make right now? Any other super huge games? Might as well divert more resources to printing more copies to this game :p

I still have no idea why this game didn't have a worldwide launch. Seems crazy there's still a week until the official American release :/

I wonder if it has something to do with the fiscal year. In America, the fiscal year begins October 1, whereas in Japan it begins in the spring - April, I think. Perhaps NoA didn't want to split the earnings from Smash between fiscal years, so they pushed the release date back into the new year.

That's a total shot in the dark, but whatever the specific reason, I'm sure it's a marketing thing. NoA determined they would make more money and/or it would look better for their balance sheet to release the game in October rather than September.

Guys! Someone found an easy way to obtain custom moves!

We usin' speedrun techniques now!

edit: wrong link oops, fixed

this changes everything

I might feel scummy doing that, but it seems like it's gonna be hard to get custom moves, so looks like it's time to scum away!

Never thought about it like that, but I guess it makes sense.

Frame advance strat. Nice.

I'm pretty good at getting it everytime without it though....especially on higher difficulties where it seems they're slightly more common. This shouldn't make stuff much faster, but at least we have a guaranteed way of getting wrenches in Classic.

Yeah the fact that half the time instead of a custom move you either get:
A) Some Mii equipment
B) Some normal equipment
C) a custom move you ALREADY HAVE

it gets pretty tedious.

It doesn't guarantee custom moves though, just a custom item in general. So this will still take some time, lol

yeah, but....NoA doesn't exactly have their own financial report

It's not even guaranteed or broken, so why would they patch it?

You'll probably just end up getting a duplicate of a custom move. :v This does help speed things up a bit but it'll still be a tedious process.

What would the point of that even be?
To stop people speedunlocking stuff. I know its a painful way of unlocking stuff but this was the way the game was designed. If someone discovered a way to cheat at my game id probably patch it. Disable the home button at that point. But then Im a bit of a douche. :p

I asked in the other thread, but didn't get a reply.

Is Smash Run customizable in terms of length?

Watched a video and the 1 minute competition at the end of it seems WAY too short.

It doesn't even really speed it up much, just guarantees a custom item. You can get duplicates.

I don't believe so, but I haven't tried local Smash Run, by yourself there doesn't seem to be any outside of customizing music for it.

Fair enough but still seems like a game glitch, albeit a pretty inconsequential one.

Not a glitch, just an exploit since pressing home pauses any game you're in. :p [/semantics]

Since it's not broken, an exploit as tame as this usually wouldn't be patched out.

What exactly is happening here?

During Classic Mode, before a match you get a roulette. It can be stuff like

Coins x 200
Trophies x 2
Custom Item x 1
Coins x 400
Trophies x 5
...etc

and it'd cycle through them, and you press A to stop the roulette. Using the home button, you can "pause" the roulette to see where you're at, and if you see a red (custom item) icon coming up, you can "unpause" while holding A to guarantee it.

Oof, that's pretty painful. No idea why this wasn't included.

When the slot you want shows up, you press Home to pause the game. Then you hold A and reenter, which makes the game go "Hey, you hit A!" and land on the slot you paused at/before.

Ahhh thanks, that's awesome! :D

... It's 2014 and this is still a problem with something pertinent to gameplay? Trophies, sure, since they're fluff (Really, really nice fluff, though!), but these are alternate moves. Why?
