Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor |OT| One Title to rule them all

I was actually able to DL this quicker than I DLed Hyrule Warriors. Which was like 7 gigs or something. I've noticed with PSN sometimes you either get good or shitty speed, but it never seems to have anything to do with PSN or your internet. It's like if you log out and log back in you'll eventually get a 'good' download.

I was sitting on the fence with SoM but the influx of gameplay footage, positive word of mouth and critical reception finally got me to put a pre-order down this afternoon for the release on October the 8th here in Australia.

Then I saw the season pass for $30+AUD. Cancelled my pre-order and will wait for the inevitable GOTY edition (like with WB published Arkham series and Mortal Kombat). A shame but I'm not paying half the price of the game again for future content and extra in-game trinkets.

Can't find any claim you mention...?

Woah so on PS4 its 1080@60 and Xbone 720@30?
While they are a bit more official than random twitch streamers, because they are officially recognized as press (Received a Press kit by Warner Bros.) doesn't mean they are guaranteed to be right.

We also have people that can't tell 30 and 60 apart from major publications in the US.

Isn't the 60fps PS4 version just speculation? If what you say is true then it is an enormous difference that almost makes XB1 look last-gen in this case, but I'm pretty sure I saw someone mention that they played it and to them PS4 looked like 30fps.

With most people who claim something "seems like 60fps" I usually brush it off because so many people have no clue how to see if something is 60fps with their naked eye, as if they think 30fps simply means unstable choppy performance.

Wait, 60fps are confirmed on PS4?

At the moment I'm torn between PS4 and PC....If its 1080/60 on PS4 I'll get that one...

Mordor review copies were all PS4 versions afaik.
Does that mean sites like xboxachievements.com reviewed the PS4 version? I have no idea, it's not really I site I would visit that often tbh.

If you notice xboxachievements and playstationtrophies are sister websites, so they contain the same articles and reviews. i'd imagine it was a ps4 copy whose review was just automatically published on both sites.

I have a hard time believing 1080/60 on PS4 but only 720/30 on Xbox, one of those framerates is likely wrong. The plot is thickening quite nicely though.

I mean its quite weird how they dodged the XB1 question on the official stream that was posted here but my guess would be 720p/60fps.

I think resolution and FPS for Xbox One is so low, because they had to take the Kinect in account during development. Inexcusable though, but i dont think its the developers fault.

Yeah I just noticed the link in the top left, I was wondering why the review didn't seam very platform specific. Thanks.

EDIT: Actually they talk about the XB1;
A little inconsistent. For every stunning vista, there's the occasional lack of character detail and on Xbox One, even the odd instance of texture pop-in. Shadow of Mordor could look better.
wtf?
