I really should get around to playing some of the Genesis/Mega Drive Classics games. I could probably knock out a few of the backlog pretty quickly, too.

I got Skullgirls because I'd heard it was a good fighting game for beginners... But that's absolute BS, it doesn't even have proper button prompts (specifically, controller prompts). Sorry, but using "LP" and "MK" is stupid and counterintuitive, and doesn't really tell me anything. Tell me what the actual button for that action is. Making me do the work of looking up a list of buttons to cross-reference is just lousy design. C'mon, it's 2014, there's no excuse to not have controller prompts. Plus, they have it listed as full controller support, which is even stupider.

I actually have both a Deathadder and G400s, and completely disagree with that article, I prefer the G400s over the Deathadder any day, the G400s feels way better in the hand than the DA which I feel is way too big, the only plus side the DA is the mouse wheel is better. That's just my opinion though.

The fact it does still say "Button 3" and stuff is baffling. That being said, test out your buttons after setting them and play the tutorial, you'll feel a lot smarter afterwards.

Well, that's game 94 finished for this year.
Goddamn, Killer is Dead is a whacky game, especially the train level(Has the best dialogue out of all the chapters, imo)
The games world made no sense at all, unicorns, assassinations, giants, aliens, colonel sanders from KFC, robot arms, I don't get any of that crap, but boy was it an enjoyable ride.
Although the move that allowed you to regenerate health by using blood definitely made the game a bit too easy later on, a lot of my deaths were in the early game because I hadn't acquired that ability yet.

It is a good fighting game for beginners if you actually take the time to know what the buttons are. Did you even play the game at all or were you stuck on the menu screen?

What games are you referring to? Are they old games?
I thought mod that need external edit like SKSE are not supported. I just checked the workshop and it seems I was wrong. The modders just put link to SKSE on their mod page if it is required.

Yea games like UT 99. They work fine just run at 30 fps for some reason. It was an issue in windows 8 as well. Windows 7 had it fine.

I haven't finished the game, on chapter 4, but holy hell, I'm not kidding you guys, its probably one of the best horror games to release so far this year. It's really good and gets better and better as it goes on. I'm really going to recommend it.

Did you ever encounter that bug in Mission 3 that causes infinite loading? I've really wanted to get that game, but hearing people say they can't beat the game because of it is quite disheartening.

I bet half the mods on there require it. The Workshop would be a disastrous failure if they somehow regulated "pure" creation kit mods.

The tutorial actually makes me feel dumber. Going in there and having it tell me what to do in a different prompt language, while having the prompt stream be for input I'm not even using, is more confusing than just winging it and button mashing. I played against my friend, and just button mashed my way to victory multiple times. And he actually knows how to play fighting games, and also agreed that the lack of prompts is ridiculous.
That's the problem, I shouldn't have to take the time to know what the buttons are, at least not twice over. It's the job of the game to teach me that, in as simple a way as possible. Having to learn that X = LP = Light Punch? Lousy design. Learning that X = Light Punch? Good design. And yes, I've played the game. And even if I hadn't, doesn't change the fact that the lack of appropriate prompts is a dumb choice.

Participating in the 52 Games 1 Year Challenge that MRORANGE created was a great way to make me want to finish games in my backlog, it's really fun
Next year you should definitely participate in it(I mean, you can participate in it now if you want, but you'd probably have to be speedy gonzales to finish 36 more games before the year ends.

Oh damn, I'll keep an eye out for that. I went from XP to win8 (and then forced into 8.1). I haven't experienced anything weird, though I know about the mouse issues in some games on 8.1 (that has been mostly fixed but still can occur. Apparently if you run the games still affected in Win7 compatibility mode it fixes the problem most of the time).
Also, no D3D Overrider on Win8, but nVidia Inspector and GeDoSaTo have solved most of my issues.

Yeah, I probably couldn't do that, but aiming to beat a game per week doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll probably start that now. I don't think I have too much farther to go in Valdis Story.
I signed up for Harmonix playtesting a couple of weeks ago and got into a test today. The email was in my promotions tab and I figured it was worth mentioning in case someone wanted to check there or spam so they don't miss it. Unfortunately I can't talk about the game.

It's really sad that some of you are going through marital troubles, but this isn't counselling. I have no idea what went down, and I also don't care. I'm just going to start deleting posts. Deal with stuff in PMs or not at all.
Finished Mafia 2 earlier in the week. Great game, but it felt rushed. From what my friend told me turns out it was which is a shame because the game wanted to be more emotional than it already was.
My biggest complaint is how dull the game felt early on gameplay wise. Go to this spot, do combat for 2 minutes, drive back.
Tried the Mafia 2 MP mod but unfortunately couldn't find a non-laggy server.
Guess I should focus on The Witcher games since I was recently gifted 3, but I can't get into TW1. )~:

TW2 had a basic summary of TW1 at the title menu somewhere I think.
I hope we won't need to ask Durante to fix the port. Although I'm kind of expecting it might have a 30fps cap

I tried, really I did but the combat, constant sheathing and cut-scene interference was driving me nuts.

i tried 2 and boy did it fucking suck. on hard it reminded me a lot of doodoosouls in that you're constantly kiting and rolling around like a fool during combat.
