This is a totally oddball question: Has anyone run the math on how big the leaves on that tree at the top right would have to be? For the distance from the car and the size they appear to be, it seems like they'd be massive.

Is the screeching wheels every second you go around any corner annoying anyone else?

I sort of liked it in the Gamersyde videos I'd downloaded. That was with headphones, though.

Tell me you're not serious.

Driveclub: the leaves are massive.

OK so I've played this game for about three hours and I gotta say it's pretty awesome! However I'm not gonna continue playing until the servers are back up. I want those challenges!

I feel that DC nailed the game play and the graphics and the sound. I do kinda wish there were more things to do with that game you earn. Perhaps add a spoiler to your car? Buy different rims? Create custom liveries, Etc...

But even as is, I love the game. Just hope those servers get fixed soon

Game looks pretty good. But I can't help but be let down by some things. Like I notice that telephone pole wires and passing tree branches will sometimes have jaggies. Also, the car that shows up in the side mirror looks really awful (super pixelated and muddy). Not sure if this is being too nitpicky. I don't recall Forza 5 having these issues (but I haven't played my X1 in months, so it's been too long to compare). Then again, there are other things that keep impressing me about this game graphically. So *shrugs*.

These server issues really need to be resolved fast. The game does really feel handicapped without the connectivity stuff.

I find it nitpicking indeed, but to each his own ofc.

Haven't been looking myself for these issues, but for everything thing this game is doing at once, if there are jjaggies and such, well it's fine by me, as this is a video game, not real life so inaccuracies will always be in all video games I would think.

Levelled it up to lvl2.
It's up to you, now, mates!

And if I tell you I could also have one race online with 5, yes I say 5! other people, I'm sure you wouldn't believe me.
Unless you're one of the guys I've rammed into in this corner or in this one.
Sorry bros, 'twas my first lap with the Zonda and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

Finally took Semi-Pro...screw you Alfie Smith!

Who are these AI racers? Real people, devs? Or just made up?

Still down for me. Not sure wtf is going on with other people being able to log on. It's fucking starting to annoy me though. I should be in a goddamn GAF club already ffs.

Yeah. IMO this is a major fail. They had an additional year to get the game and their servers up to snuff.. and here we are. I got the game 14 hours ago and I still can't do shit online :(

I'm playing on a 55 inch HD TV, and it's pretty close from where I'm sitting (since it's in my personal room). Might be why I notice jaggies more.

I will say this though, I'm blown away by the lighting. The changing day/night time stuff. And also, little things like leaves/confetti and flower pedals being kicked up and blown around. This game is impressing more than Forza 5, personally. I'm constantly being amazed by the background and the setting of the races. I'm someone that likes to race to relax (I'm not really super competitive). So this game is awesome to me.

I just noticed in a daylight race, the telephone pools had jaggies everytime I went over them. And I looked to my left to see how close someone was behind me, and in my mirror I noticed the textures were really bad. But outside of that, I can't complain. So yeah, prob just nitpicking.

Have posted previously regards my sympathies towards software development, but DriveClub definitely needed more time in the oven before release.

Would have delayed until following implemented/changed

Photo mode, replay mode, weather
Remove corner penalties (terrible design decision)
Ability to change car colour
Wider car selection (japan,us)
Elements of overarching story/tour progression to give it a more cohesive feel

Online not working is the straw on the camel's back, particularly when it's greatest strength is the point to point, leaderboard attack.

Still enjoying my time but feels like a beta product right now.

Has anyone managed a lap time of 151.00 on the Volkswagen Series championship?

I can't seem to do better than 153.00.. Not to mention the next class car I'm supposed to be using is locked out because we can't do clubs yet :(

Is that in the Rookie stage? There were a few stars on that stage that I had to do a few times to finally get them. That sounds like one of them. The hardest one for me was one of the first time trials with those tight turns and narrow track.

The nice thing about the stars is that you can fulfill them later. And if it's part of a championship, you don't even need to complete the series. Nice for completionists.

Whether this is good or not, I ended up lagging back on my second go around in some races so I could complete some of the stars and challenges without that really aggressive AI messing me up. The races on the rookie stage are easy enough, I could often catch up in the last lap, though.

I agree about the replay and weather, those really need to be here at launch. The cornering penalties I am getting used to though.

About car color change, how do you mean? I've created custom paint jobs.

I agree with most points, for car color however you can change it, problem is there's only 4 presets and for some reason they're not car specific. You also can't change the car color for a factory setting right before a race either for some odd reason.

I got online, and tried multiplayer races, they work very well. And there is a lot of events to select, shame that we can't create a private lobby yet.

I just notice that in all my online races I was only playing with 7 adversaries. Not 11. Is it supposed to be 12p races right?

Haha! Yeah. Would be interesting to see what reference pics they used for designing them.

This is the 13th most viewed thread out of 1,324 threads in this forum.

Must be the whole world refreshing the page every second to check if Evo had a breakthrough with the servers! :D

I can't believe how barebones the car customization is in this game.

Yeah that kind of sucks. I was never into that personally. So even in Forza 5 I would find myself messing around with car variations, and then realizing I had like no skill/talent and all my cars ended up looking the same. So I stopped messing with that.

But I can imagine for people that REALLY care about that, it's a big blow. Personally, I just care about the racing mechanics + the track/scenery stuff (I'm shallow I know). And damn, this game is doing everything for me right now. I'm enjoying it more than I was Forza 5 (I like the menus/objective stuff a lot more too).

I need to dust off my X1 and get Horizon 2 though. I actually really liked Horizon.

I thought orange and blue always worked well together lol. I hope we'll have a decent paint job before the League starts heh.

Dude, you can change your color in the garage by changing the presets. It's pretty inconvenient, but yeah..

You can ?, i want to cycle between red, blue, black, white etc... all i see is custom paint jobs/graphic decals which are aesthetically not my taste.
