I still think it needs to be done, necessary even, unless SE really doesn't give a damn about anything.

Game was made at 720p only yo.

I can't wait to see screens of the later locations in 1080p with all the bells and whistles.

Just a quick shot grabbed with dxtory. No problems running this at 3200x1800 with my 970 at least. Hope I can get 4K working somehow though.

Plays fine apart from the broken mini map.

So, I just want to make one point about this.

Preface: Durante is extremely talented, experienced, and dedicated. I don't want to take anything away from him.

However, he'd agree with me that the point of him fixing this stuff so quickly is that the stuff should not have been broken to begin with. The entire point is that this isn't that teams aren't able to do this, it's that they don't even conceptually think to do it. It never even occurs to them. It's mostly a cognitive blindness rather than a lack of ability. I'm also certain that Durante would point out that the only reason it takes him more than 5 seconds is that he has to reverse engineer things that are going on in the engine; if he had access to the engine, he'd be able to work much more quickly. That's the silent undercurrent of all three of the games he's fixed.

So true it hurts.

I have GeDoSaTo set to 1920 x 1080, but now the framerate drops are much more frequent. It constantly drops to 30-40fps in battles. And yes, I have the "Prefer maximum performance" setting enabled. My card is a 660Ti. That should be plenty powerful enough to run this game at a constant 60fps at 1080.

Despite earlier claims, this game does not seem very optimized.

Both in driver and control panel?

yeah, he fixes the mess the developers doesnt want/can/or bother to fix. but why he has to do that in the first place? the entire point of releasing a product on a platform is to use all that platform can offer, not just doing a quick job for a quick buck.

we need someone like him on Steam releases QA (if that ever exist)

Does the Durante fix also include the AF and AA or do i still have to force those in the Nvidia control panel for the time being?

Same thing but with a 670. UHD or FHD it's 40ish fps with drops. Without the GeDoSaTo it's 60 locked without a single drop. Everything is already on max power (since I built that PC actually).

Well, it's not a big deal, at least the game is no more a pixel mess.

I'm running it some way above 4K with an R7 265 and getting an FPS of 25-35, your 970 can easily do 4K. :p

So are the visuals in FFXIII-2 actually worse than in FFXIII? I only played the first one so I don't have anything to compare to.

AF you'd force through you GPU Vendors drivers. I haven't updated to the latest GeDoSaTo build but it supports various AA types. If you have a look at the profiles section there should be one for FFXIII (well I'm assuming that's how he's doing it) and there will be the resolution you render the game at and any other enabled settings.

You and I both know they aren't going to do anything.

Yep, and it makes me kinda sad.

It would be cool if you managed to get them to answer some questions about their PC ports in one of your future interviews with SE, though I could already picture their non-answers.

Mmm I can try. I already know some people asked through PR and they got bunch of nothing.

Yeah 970 can do 4k easily. I tried 5760x3240 and it seems to drop as low as 40FPS sometimes. Still more frames than the console version I guess though, hah!
