They are perfectly driveable in Forza 5, maybe you've got a very heavy throttle finger.

The preorder cars for Horizon 1 were available as DLC a couple of months after launch so I expect the same for Horizon 2

Not sure if anyone is going through and removing inactive people in the club to make room for others but just thought I'd mention I traded the game in so you can remove me from the club for someone that'll be active. Gamertag is Lord Wibble.
so, a friend of mine was yesterday here for coffee, and I put him to try horizon with wheel and all.
funny thing is that he was for vacation in Nice this summer, and when I told him that the area is featured in the game, he took the wheel and showed me around. "let me take you to the port", "here is the casino", "this is the hotel I usually stay", "I remember that kiosk on the beach", "statue blahblah", then he decided to drive me to the piazza. it was funny because I was watching him looking very carefully at each perpendicular road to decide which is the one he wants to take for reaching the piazza.
then, he was surprised to see the festival setup in the piazza area
he says that while scale is not of course one to one, place is definitely Nice.
so, whats the next step here? 1:1 scale? could/should be interesting, when we reach that point..

Would like to know this too. I think that in terms of mechanics and the way everything revolves around the player's experience, this is the best game I've ever played. It rewards everything and punishes very little, whilst making the whole thing feel challenging: you can push it as far as or as near as you like.
It's perfectly balanced in every way, shape and form.

It's the fact that if you say "Huracan" kinda fast, it sounds like the way certain accents say "Hurricaine". With the Huracan being the poster car for FH2 I thought it was a good pun to make.

I think I spend more time taking pictures than actually driving.
But it's weird. This game might actually be my GOTY. I played Infamous and that's an open world game but it has nothing to do in there. A racing game is more exciting than a game in which you are a super hero which has multiple powers - that just seems weird to me.
Like man, I have more fun with this game than I did GTA V.

Forza Horizon 2 reminds me of that moment Gears 1 loaded up for the first time. Half the time I can't believe what I'm looking at looks so good. Especially their daytime lighting. It just gives me that "next gen has arrived" vibe.
The last game to do that to me this gen is Assassins Creed Black Flag on PS4, specifically the parts in the ocean.

YES.
TDU and TDU2 were the closest we got to 1:1 scale so far.
Just exploring the island in TDU was so much fun because it felt like the real island, not a Disneyland-sized version of the island.
It would be amazing if we got a 1:1 replica of a location for FH3.

I couldn't choose between freedom and fun....so I'll make up a word: freefun.
And I'd just like to say, I don't play many games on my X1, but FH2 is exactly why I've kept it since getting bored of Titanfall not long after it's release. It's seriously one of my favourite games so far this gen, if not my favourite.

Freedom.
Variety.
You could say that about Forza as a whole but it's taken to the next level in Horizon. Narrow city streets, winding coastal road, hilly dirt tracks, gently curving highways, grassy fields... and you can race these in anything from an Abarth 500 to an Ariel Atom to a vintage pickup truck.
Then there's upgrades, tuning, showcase events, the ridiculous design editor...
'Possibility' as well.
Harmony. The game just works so well in concert with all of the mechanics there. it rewards the player constantly and makes navigating the world a joy (who REALLY uses fast travel anyway?)
FH2 is a sterling achievement and the best racer I have ever played. Well done to all at Plaground and Turn 10.
