I have a question that I'm not sure if it was answered with this update. When I press the PS button to go to the home screen from an app, every time I do so there is a controller battery life notification that pops up- is there any way to disable the notification completely?

So after the update my ps4 couldn't enter sleep mode it would always lock up. I did that fix where you change the power saving from 3 hours to always on Thursday. After 10+ gaming sessions since then it hasn't screwed up once.

No, the instructions are somewhere inthe thread but you change the power saving thing from 3 hours to always on and it fixes the bug.

Really glad I checked this thread before updating. I tend to always use Rest mode to let batteries charge and keep any downloads going. Haven't used it since the update, and haven't encountered any other issues.
After reading the initial reports about issues, here on GAF, I would shut down the system instead of putting it into sleep mode. I did place it in sleep mode, on Thursday, so the system would pre-load AW when it went up. My system also locked-up and I had to unplug the system to power back up.
With the tips provided by fellow members, I went into safe mode and did the database rebuild and changed my USB power setting to always on. I've place the system into rest mode, waited, and powered back up several times without issue. Thanks, GAF.

Do i need to change it to always and then back to 3hrs? I'd it at 3hrs before, and still got the bug yesterday

The only problem I've had since updating was TLOU crashed, but I couldn't reset the system from any menu.
But I did notice, after finding the Evolve Alpha taking a ridiculous amount of time to download, that the option to stay connected to the internet in Rest Mode was turned off.
Did the update change the standby/rest settings?

Yeah little blue dots keep flickering in and out. Cant seem to use the screenshot function to capture them.

All the workarounds are bullshit, so yeah, stop trying and wait. The bug doesn't occur every single time, so, people try things and when they successfully wake the machine from rest mode once or twice, they come rushing to the internets to post the "solution".

Playing Diablo 3 and fans are running higher than normal as well now. As well has having NO FU&£%NG SOUND either this is now a joke of a firmware update. Sony suggested a reinstall from safe mode. Tried that with no joy. PS4 is only 3 months old and has worked a treat until now. Wish there was a way to rollback update

Also share play is pretty cool but stay away from FPS's with it lol. I tried to play a friend's destiny crucible (he lives a couple hundred miles away) and I couldn't even hit an enemy with the ~300ms latency.

This was "reported" yesterday and it does not work. I have tried every suggestion in these two threads and I still have issues with my 3-week old PS4. The only thing that works (unless your PS4 is just randomly turning off) is either do a full Power Off or leave your PS4 on full time so that it pre-downloads COD:AW.

same I kinda feel guilty and bad at the sametime because my PS4 is running fine. Stanby works fine, no crashes everything works as intended.

I just turn mine off now. I definitely notice that my connection to PSN seems to be slower since the update?
Why can't Sony acknowledge this?
Haven't had issues either. None of my friends have mentioned any issues as well.
EDIT: I did have a problem where one frind couldn't SharePlay my games but everyone else I tried with could so I don't know.
Yeah, dozens of rests and not a single hang. Don't know what I did differently.

I started having a rest problem today. I haven't had the no sound problem when booting up though. One step forward one step back.

You must be new to software development. Apple released ios8 and it turned off peoples cell service. It can happen to any company. You won't find out all the problems until you release it to the public. Just how it is.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Software development isn't always easy and sometimes its hard to trace where a problem is coming from. And once you do, its not always a simple task to fix it. I doubt people are sitting on their asses and twiddling their thumbs. I'm sure they are attempting to fix the root of the error.
Maybe I'm just not pissed about it because I've only used standby by mistake when I didn't scroll all the way to shut down which is my default option.
This is the first time this is happened to be but i was using the youtube app to watch videos and then i went into the menu to load up P.T. and the PS4 totally crashed and turned off. It turned right back on as soon as i pressed power but it had to check the database. This is the second time its crashed for me since the update , the first was when i turned it back on from rest mode.

Man I have gone from maybe 1 hardlock a week before the update to at least 3 a day now.
Well I'm sure it's already been mentioned.. But after discovering I had the rest mode bug, I turned off the system by manually holding down the power button for about 15 seconds.. Waited for the light to go off then turned it back on, but held down the power button past the initial turn-on till a 2nd beep for Safe Mode.
Re-downloaded the 2.0 update from Safe Mode menu (Option 3# 'Update System Software') and my PS4 has been good since then. *knock on wood*. Not sure if it's a permanent solution - likely not - but it's working so far.
Of course the main workaround is just to turn off rest mode till a patch is out. But this bug isn't bricking systems.. I don't think it is anyway. It's just inconvenient.
