PS4 YouTube fix

I also had this problem, as I have a Google+ account and an associated pre-existing YouTube account that I bound to it when Google unified their services.

This kind of accounts is not being well handled by the PS4 firmware (note that uploading videos won't work either, even if you can log in from the PSN settings).

My solution was to make a new separate Google+/YouTube account for games related uploads, I also moved all my gaming related subscriptions there. Signing in with the new account worked flawlessly.

Figured out the problem I was having and probably quite a few people are having. Do not connect your PS4 to your youtube sub account, it wont work, it has to be your main gmail account.

Finally was able to upload video from PS4 to youtube.

Goddamn, thanks for this tip. It worked like a charm after several days of failed attempts at linking accounts. Sucks that I have to use this main account when all my stuff is on the Youtube one, though.

ugh..but i want to use my old YT account :(
This works for me found it on reddit hopes it works for you.

1. Make sure you are logged into the account you want to link, and go to the Advanced Settings.

2. Under "Account Information" you should see a weird looking email/login associated with your account. It should be something like <account name>-<random #>@pages.plusgoogle.com. (If you don't have this, it should give you an option to create one by connecting to a Google+ page.)

3. Log out of gmail/youtube. Log back in, but this time login using your unique @pages.plusgoogle.com.

4. Follow this link, and if you see PSN is a registered device, revoke access to it.

5. Go back to your PS4, and now login to the youtube app using the @pages.plusgoogle.com login & pw from before.

I don't have psn listed there. Just things like my ipad and iPhone are shown there. So it isn't a fix for me.

Yet I can link my account to youtube on the ps4 in the settings part (where it has the Twitter and facebook linking) but it won't allow me to upload videos or login to the YouTube app on ps4.

Edit: just noticed people talking. I have a YouTube account that I had all before this Google account stuff. I use that as I had already uploaded videos and had subscriptions and so forth. So that seems to be my problem. They should allow you to properly link that rather than having to link it to your gmail account.

THANK YOU, this worked for me. I can finally log in using my alternate acc :).

Tried this and I can see everything at step 2 but when I try to login at step 3 it won't let me. Says I have the wrong password, yet I'm assuming it's meant to be the same password as my google account.

You have to create a separate password for the @pages.plusgoogle.com acc at step 2 it's in the settings.

Awesome. Thanks guys. That did the trick. YouTube I s now linked on my ps4! :)

So strange it required all this though. I mean even wii u with mario kart was able to link ok yet a more powerful system with the ps4 has issues.

Holy shit it worked. Thank you! I had to add a password to my google+ account thingy (from the settings on youtube I think) so that I could sign in on step 3, but yeah. Totally working now.

Thanks a ton.

I'm confused guys, I have that weird email there already, how do I add the password?

Edit: Nevermind, it's right above it. I thought that would lead to my main account.

Yes, it worked for me, I created a gmail address and linked to the main account, now I can sign in.
But this hasn't fixed the video uploading unfortunately :/
If I share a video it gets added to the uploading queue but then it says that it's impossible to upload the video.
This is definetly bugged.

Thanks this finally worked for me, I kept trying to do it through Chrome on tablet, but it won't let you do it that way. Only shows up on PC, wonder if the PS3 YouTube will be broke now. I just have all my subs and everything on my original YouTube account so this helps.

Got it to work, but I can't upload vids to the account. I've tried a few minute long vids and a 12 second vid. As soon as I press share without trimming it says it can't upload. FFS.

Is this also supposed to fix youtube uploading?

I can sign in just fine. Can't upload anything for shit though, even with doing this.

I wanted to log in once, and a sign popped up saying I had to give the PS4 access to a whole lot of permissions, and even let it automatically upload videos to my account.

I didn't read them in full because I was tired and I actually just wanted to try doing that YouTube from the phone to the PS4 thing (it works), but is anyone else kinda scared at those permissions, or is it just me?

Uploading finally works thanks to this :)

I'm one of those who made the mistake of signing in with my sub Google account first. While signing in wasn't a problem, I couldn't upload anything until I tried this solution. Many thanks!

Thank you I can finally put my PS3 out to pasture for non-gaming purposes.

Tried this and I can see everything at step 2 but when I try to login at step 3 it won't let me. Says I have the wrong password, yet I'm assuming it's meant to be the same password as my google account.

These steps worked for me:

  1. Go to the Google+ page for the Channel you want to use on the PS4.
  2. Go into Settings for that Channel
  3. Scroll down and note your Channel's @pages.plusgoogle.com email address.
  4. Click the button below that to set up a password for this page.
  5. Now, use this email and password to log in directly to Google.
  6. Go to https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions?pli=1 and you will see a completely different list than you'd see logged in as your main account.
  7. If you see "PS4", click it, and revoke access on the right.
  8. Now, go to your PS4 and log in with your Channels direct log in credentials.
  9. Profit

If you are able to log in fine with your sub-account/channel, but you can't upload, you need to make sure you are logged in directly as that channel on the web, then go to https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions?pli=1 and revoke access. It is a completely different set of permissions than the main account. After that, re-login to the PS4 with the same credentials for that specific channel.

Mine still showed "PS4" from October 28th, even though I had revoked access on my main account. Once I revoked for the channel and then re-signed in on the PS4, uploads worked perfectly!

Basically you have to login with your Google Plus address.
From your main account, choose to view your Google+ pages, go into your Google Plus page settings, find your page's address in the Third Party Tools section, set a password for the page if you haven't already.
In the PS4 go to settings, PSN, connect to other services and exit from Youtube.
Login again while trying to share a video using the yourpage@pages.plusgoogle.com adress and your page's password.
It works.
Previously I tried with my main account and it didn' work at all, then I tried with my gmail accont and I managed to sign in in the Youtube app but still couldn't upload videos, now with the Goole Plus page account it finally works.

Still Sony needs to fix this s*it, uploading videos should work using the main account or the Youtube sub-account to log in. Not the adress of your Goole Plus page ^^''

It looks like Google did a mass wipe of PSN/PS4 permissions, so they've probably fixed it now. You will just have to re-log into it once more.

I can confirm it works now. I had a sub account that wouldn't let me sign into it but now it goes through without an issue.
