Didn't IGN wait almost 9 days after launch to release the Destiny review? Ultimately, reviews released after launch, especially those that are reliant on multi-player are much better than days before. Otherwise we'll get the same thing about how Halo 4 was 9.8/10 of endless balanced fun.

I guess this review is really only about the H2A multiplayer?
Destiny is online only and was massacred for holding back reviews, you can't win either way.
Well it's really the only thing they haven't played before, no? I mean what are they going to rate Halo 3 that they didn't do in 2007 or tell us.
Obviously the updated Halo 2 campaign is huge, but I also think the most important thing about this collection is the unified menus and playlists, dedicated servers, cross-game playlists and completely new Halo 2 Anniversary multi-player.
But it's whatever. Reviews have never mattered to me before. Usually you can tell when a game is really bad, or if it's really good, and sometimes you just take a chance on the games in between. There's no doubt that MCC will keep me happy for over a year. It's pretty much all I'll play I think.

I'm not having a go at you, but you did talk about reviews not two days ago. I completely agree that reviews never influence whether i'll buy a game or not, which is why there's no point stressing about them.

think i had enough of halo 2 vista. finding that activation code was a waste of time. most games are dead and all people play is 16 ffa on lockout which is awful! everyone spawning out of each other's asses with br and snipers so you basically can't move around for 5-10 seconds without dropping like a bag of bricks.
You seem to have a knack for encountering terrible people online.

When I played H2A at the EB expo, I was so out of practice for the first game, the controller, 60FPS even, felt so foreign.
By the third game, on lockout, I was dominating though and it was so fun. The xbox guy was watching me because he said he knew i'd win.

Picked up my old 360 controller the other day. Feels so off now.
Got Sunset Overdrive instead of Call of Duty, I figured I'd pick it up around Black Friday when it's on sale for half off plus my employee discount. Sunset looks like it'll be more fun and hold me over for at least the week until Halo drops.
It's cool to see that the review embargo lifts on Friday, I'll post the review thread with the cool little banner VisceralBowl put together along with basic info on the game. are there any rules for the review threads? I assume same day, but can I post it in the morning leading up to it or is it more preferred that I wait until the embargo lifts?

CoD does look fantastic this year. We had a pretty cool midnight launch for it, Had it running on both XB1 and PS4 and they looks visually stunning and gameplay looked and felt fun as hell. I don't know how they did it, but it feels nothing like Titanfall, at least no where near as bad as I thought it would have, which wouldn't have been a bad thing. I just figured that going from CoD to Halo this Monday night would have been a bit too jarring. Sunset it is then!
Also, we were originally going to start handing it out at 11 to keep up with it's digital release which went live on the east coast at midnight, but since Walmart broke street date again our district manager called us and told us to start giving it out at 10:30. It was pretty cool.

That's too bad about CoD. After seeing a gameplay trailer I thought that they were really starting to try something new this time as opposed to just the same game for the umpteenth time. Still though... I'm impressed they actually tried something. A for effort?

I don't think he really had a point so much as just being curious as to our take on it (and whether or not we knew if HF has a speech impediment).

Have they said anything about split-screen yet? I saw some split-screen H2A campaign gameplay last weekend and tbh, it looked horrible. Vertical fov was really low, pretty much half of the singleplayer fov. But stuff like medals and score for kills were in weird places (on top of hud) so it might be something that is fixed in that 20 Gb update.

On the subject of Halo 4, I just played a couple matches and while it's still pretty lame, damn if 343 didn't score a winner with the thruster pack and Railgun. Really hope they return.
Maybe not at launch, but I'll be there.

Wrapping up my achievement guide on TrueAchievements and I'm down to less than 10 achievements of the 450 that I haven't pinned down. One specifically I was hoping someone here would have a lead on (before I resort to running around the map looking for it).
