If you're bothered by minor imperfections...then that's true of pretty much every painted toy/figure on the market.
there are difference between "
minor imperfections" and "
poorly made"
say.. when i buy a gundam scale model, i know that i will get a 99.9% perfect product
of course there are 0.01% chance of imperfection, but it's a "
well made" product so the chance are that low
UOT!?
It's not getting worst: this thread OP posted the first pics, and were ugly.
than we saw way better pics compared to those. how is getting worst?
plus, if a minor paint imperfection is bothering you, yes, you have to look closely: otherwise it means that it's not so bothering that imperfection.
And not, those are not appealing to the hardcorest of hardcore: for those, there are FIGMA of First Figures action figures: collectible statues for hundreds bucks.
This are 15$ toys.

getting worst by my personal observation over many threads and articles.
the first time it was announced, it looks like a premium grade toys. which was awesome and highly appealing to even the likes of me (not a nintendo stuff collector)
but suddenly link got that ugly-ass piss pole, yoshi got a seamline on his legs, wiifit trainer broke her leg then wear that cast of gypsum, and DK got that toilet, probably mexican food he ate after the initial announcement. they are definitely not the case on the prototypes
and then there's the paintjob and bending swords. with every details leaked, all i got was more bad news.
that's what i meant by "getting worse"
==========
$15 could get me a gundam. which like i said above: a well made product that's 99.9% of the time would be perfect made
i know, "so just get urself a goddam gundam u asshole! and get out of our thread!"
rest assure that is not a nintendo hater trying to stomp on the amiibo, this is more like a sad disappointment from fellow fan. because the prototypes are awfully nice it's misleading.
i understand that prototypes are supposed to be nice. but the gap of quality are just heartbreaking...
as a -very- casual nintendo stuff collector, at this point i probably won't buy them. but i will keep my eyes peeled for better lineup which i will buy. probably when nintendo have learned how to produced better amiibos with lower costs, just like bandai have with gundams
a more hardcore collector however, would most probably get each and every one of them. because they wouldn't want to miss any collectibles from nintendo. purely as a collectibles, without judging the price point. i mean, they even collected that cheap ass mcdonalds mario happy meals
and that's what i meant by "hardcore collectors"
If you're in a rush you pick the first one that looks Good Enough
If there's only one left you settle for that or decide to look elsewhere another time
If you're only option is to order online then you have to take the chance you get one that's got 'imperfections'
Pretty simple stuff, same as every other collectible.
of course. in the end, "stop fucking whining because nobody cares about your opinion"
but don't we all want a good looking product in our hand?
some collectibles did their fans enough justice that they didn't have to compromise with build quality. the initial prototype implied that.
it would be so much better world if nobody ended up with a link and a bended sword.
