Inkling being new is precisely why it's a smart move. Put an Inkling in Smash, and the Smash install base now has Splatoon on their radar, whether the game's out or not. The Wooly World stage may have a similar effect.Inkling is a little bit too new I think. Even as DLC.
However, I do believe Inkling will probably be one of the first revealed characters in Smash 6. I also think Isabelle from Animal Crossing has a high chance of getting in.
Nope. There is no online play until a patch that comes out right before the game does but after the review embargo lifts. Take that how you will, I suppose.
For DLC alt costumes, Conductor Toon Link.
Mario Kart 8 has got me thinking about Smash Bros. DLC again. What does everyone’s updated wish list look like? Here’s my top five after Mewtwo (no Assist Trophies, Poké Balls, or stage hazards):
Any single one of those would make me happy.
Dear Ash:
Since you didn't fall for my masterfully worded trick question on the last page, I'll ask you this:
Have you tried an eight-player battle with Bowser Jr. + all seven Koopalings, and if so, was it awesome?
Ill take it that reviewers should wait until they test the online before they post reviews.
But they probably won't!
I have not tried that, but I should tonight.
A lot of them won't be able to even if they'd like to, like myself. I'm required to have my review online right at embargo.
Can you confirm.that Bowsercide on both players' last stocks results in sudden death, that you can assign multiple buttons.to shield, and that Bowser.can still short hop, air dodge, and then cancel the landing lag with Fortress?Well, I already mentioned blast zones feeling like they're smaller, but what else do you want to know? Probably depends on what your question is exactly.
Top 5 DLC would be:
1) Snake
2) Lucas
3) Chorus Kids
Those three really are all I want. But I guess if I had to choose a 4 and 5...
4) Dixie (I guess)
5) Ice Climbers
I don't think the Chorus Kids would be separate independent characters like the Ice Climbers. They'd be more along the lines of Duck Hunt -- one character (from a technical standpoint) "disguised" as several.
Don't say such horrible things! D:

Yeah, that's what I figured for most sites. Early bird catches the hits!
Anyway thanks for your impressions and good luck finishing the review. I'm looking forward to seeing where this scores. I am imagining between 8 and 10, so 9. I don't think a lot of people give credit to this series for what it has done for fighting...even today. Even when you look at the scores the first one got, people wrote it off.

The third one is easier than it seems. Hop, air dodge asap, and then mash up B. The timing is not very strict.I'd say Melee has gotten more than enough credit for its influence on fighting games, but I agree that Smash 64 and Brawl haven't gotten nearly enough. Wii U/3DS probably won't, either.
I'll confirm the first two tonight. Not sure I'm good enough with Bowser to confirm the last one definitively, but I'll try.
The idea of them in gameplay with rhythm sounds super fun. But I just have doubts about it...my hopes of awesome DLC are not so high, so that way I can be happy with the Smash we get.

I would probably scream with joy if they had you time button inputs to the beat of the BGM. Actually, why don't they just make a Rhtyhm Heaven: Smash Edition?
Is there some database for these gifs? I will host a Smash Wii U event in my student association and I'd like to use the 14 day one (Europe am plz =( ) to hype things up a bit.
Also, with all those release day embargo's and Nintendo not caring about them, I wonder where the Smash Wii U reviews are. Although it would be completely probable that reviewers don't have time to write articles because they need to play smash.

Still nothing on Isaac, Ray or Drill Dozer huh?
That additional European week will be painful.
Because a pokemon version is needed first.
Cool, I'll test it out in a bit then.
That would be amazing. I would main them (along with Mega Man and Kirby) instantly.
I'd rather hold off on the Inklings until the next Smash. Their attacks seem like the perfect thing to showcase effects-heavy paint splattering moveset that I wouldn't want held back in the interest of the 3DS version or 8-player Smash.
HEATH
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HEATH
Is it okay to ask why you're required to have your review as soon as the embargo is gone? It would be great if you were able to test the online features. D:A lot of them won't be able to even if they'd like to, like myself. I'm required to have my review online right at embargo.

I'm surprised you guys are holding onto hope for the Ice Climbers when Sakurai plainly said that as long as they cause issues with the 3DS, neither version will get them.
