Maybe it's just the weather condition or the shape of the land, but to me the draw distance looks really short here on both versions. Maybe not as bad as San Andreas, but still.

Geez, some people are so dramatic. I just don't see how less grass on the xbox one can hinder any enjoyment some one might get out of this game. I think its been clear for well over a year that PS4 version of pretty much everything will look or perform better, and as a xbox one owner I know this and I don't let it bother me the least. If the game is fun, I'll play it. IMO, Resolutions and fps as motivation to buy a game be damned!

That about sums it up.
I don't see how "less grass" could deter you from buying the game if it's the only console you can get it on and on the flip said I don't see/get how "more grass" could give you a sense of great superiority (though again, if you have the option of the two then it's perfectly reasonable to get it based on just that).
Just all very strange to me (lol).

I think there is something else going on as well.
Its like the PS4 is using a slightly different HDR set up or something. Its different but not in the normal PS/XB pop ways.
Maybe its just open world lighting being weird and I am confused.
It's a visual thing and it looks better. Is that really hard to understand?

What lens flare is DF talking about? As I'm sure that I've seen the lens flare where appropriate.
Just reading the first page of this thread, I can't believe there's so much bitching about this article being some embarrassing waste of time, or clickbait or something.
DF's known for comparing the technical aspects of different versions of games down to the last obsessive detail. They missed an aspect in their analysis and decided to make up for it. It is worth a whole article in itself because it is a difference between the versions. If they made it out to be some sort of life-altering difference that should affect which version you go for then that's one thing, but an acknowledgement of the truth should never be met with the embarrassing degree of defensiveness that's been on display here.
The Xbox One is technically inferior. It's a fact. Whether you let that fact affect your life is a different story.

Within the first 10 seconds you see lens flare on the PS4 version and not the XBox One version.

Did you look at the comparison video quality closely? They both seem to use a lighting effect in different parts of the video since neither video lines up time of day and weather exactly in sync.
I sometimes do that. Like Morodor is better on PS4. But I got it on X1. Why? Because I love the X1, and I was just in the mood to play that console. Sometimes outside reasons trump technical reasons.
But still, I see nothing wrong with people wanting the best out of their games. At $60...if you have the option to play the game with better specs, then it makes sense to get the best out of your money. So I can kind of understand where that poster was coming from. Sometimes I wish X1 also had similar performance, so I could just buy it on X1 without being torn on it.

Parity is a dirty word, any (non Ubisoft) multiplatform game should perform better on the PS4. The thing that gets me the most is it seems people want the PS4 versions of games to be gimped to keep XB1 owners happy. Why? where was this mentality last gen?
I generally buy all multiplat games on my PS4 or PC depending on the type of game and use my XB1 and Wii U as exclusive machines. I also use my XB1 to stream media but honestly that is its biggest advantage so far this gen. It is very living room friendly which unfortunately is exactly what MS intended.

I can feel the battery fading with each flash.
I know for a fact I've seen blue lens flare in the X1 build. Not at that moment in the video though.
I noticed it last night and thought I remembered someone saying something about "blue" lens flares.
Technically a cut-scene/camera shot with lens flare makes sense...it doesn't make sense if you're in first person as a human.

It's satirical in this context, but holy shit can we stop attaching "gate" to whatever the flavor of the week controversy is?
That aside, this is neat. I like comparison videos, especially when they're about something so specific. No one can really use it in an argument, it's just interesting. It speaks to the parity of the two versions that the grass was the only thing worth mentioning.
