Agreed.
But have you ever seen a daily breakdown? They've been threatening to go weekly for years now, but I've never heard they even had access to daily. Do you know?
wait what?

But a MS win could give them an advantage and momentum going forward. It could be the start of MS consistently outselling the PS4. Which is the point I'm ultimately making. Give them an inch and they take a mile sort of thing. The XBone is now cheaper than the PS4 (and it's certainly not going back up in price) so MS has price on it's side now. There are millions of 360 owners yet to upgrade and when the time is right, now and in the future, are they going to opt for a more expensive system or the one they're more familiar with, which their other 360 mates may have perhaps upgraded to as well. And recently, parity and games not seeing a huge difference, means the technical superiority of the PS4 isn't as strong or meaningful to most, as it was 6 months or so ago. Price and power were certainly on Sony's side but one has been reversed and the other isn't so important to the masses if they are getting it for less and their friends have one too.
As I said, Sony will still be very happily with selling millions this holiday and MS winning takes nothing from that, but if they are behind and MS gains more traction, that lead can easily be wiped and gives MS the lead in a market Sony needs to really get behind and not let the competition steam roll them again like last time.
Wait til MS makes an announcement on whether they raise the price in Janurary. If they do, Sony has nothing to worry about. If the keep it at $349 well, they might trade some months as 1st place.I think Sony could be doomed in the US now.
I can't take anyone seriously when they say the DS4 is Mad Catz quality
Ehhh...technically that also came out for last-gen systems. And technically TitanFall's also on 360 and PC.Injustice was another one certain people conveniently leave out despite including Titanfall as a highly rated Xbone exclusive.
I highly doubt Xbox One could ever outsell PS4, regardless of price or games. When we look back at previous gen, Microsoft had a lead of +/- 7-8 million consoles by the time the PS3 launched. Still, even when the PS3 was priced higher, had less games (initially) and had the worse multiplats of the two consistantly, the PS3 since it launched outsold the 360 yearly by about 1 million consoles. The PS3 and 360 were equal in sales about 7 years in.
Even in those conditions, the PS3 outsold the 360. However, in this gen, the PS4 is competitively priced, more powerful and has been availible in many more markets than the Xbox One. So if the PS3 outsold the 360 (worldwide) on a yearly basis with bad conditions, imagine how much PS4 will outsell Xbox One with its favourable conditions. The PlayStation brand has a power many people here don't realise.

Because they got their UI right the first time?
I'm just talking US. WW, XBone has less than no chance to outsell the PS4.
He's obviously talking about US, not worldwide. The 360 dominated the PS3 in the US.
Imagine if they go back to this in January

1 million lead gone less than a month.
Well done MS
crack research team said:That helped gamers choose the Xbox One over the PlayStation 4, which was $400 bundled with Bungies sci-fi shooter Destiny.
That's kind of my take as well. And of course I wonder how much xbox will suffer in 2015 now that the expectation is crazy-assed deals. I just can't see the division being allowed to just lose money forever trying to win some 'war' that mostly matters to us.
That being said, if losing a ton of money for two months really does turn around the perception, then maybe it's money well spent? Just a little hard to wrap my mind around hemorrhaging money being a good thing.
I just don't understand some people's obsession with this. You want it because of the nostalgia? or people honestly believe it was better than Xbox 360s 2012 update?
This is crazy, it was a good UI in fuckin 2005. They have added shit load of new stuff since then, why would anyone want to go back.

Well done MS
wait what? the xbone has overtake the Ps4?
Because it's where most who post live, and it's like the only market MS gives a damn about these days. It's this outlook on things that shaped the perception MS wasn't a distant second or maybe last with the 360 by the western gaming media in sales. Also I expect a lot of over reaction by this same press crew when MS outsells the PS4. They practically did a liquidation sale one year after launch to try and change the narrative in the us.Why is everyone so focused about sales in the US. Even if Microsoft beat ps4 this month in the US, they still would be beaten worldwide. Therefore, still losing the month of November in sales. Yet, everyone will act like its some sort of victory. If you are going to compare sales then compare sales. Not just 1 country. Sillyness.

fighting the good fight.
Kinect wasnt a price drop

sorry, what?
ps4 has outsold xbone the past year. it is so premature to look way ahead and assume a november win will turn things around. that is overly optimistic it is downright delusional.
why are you suddenly thinking, "this win will wipe out ps4 in north america"?
if the ps4 winning for a whole year can't even wipe out the xbone, what makes you think xbone winning a month can wipe out the ps4?
these black Friday deals are just that: deals.
it is called cutting the price to increase sales volume. xbox is sacrificing their holiday profits, inarguably the biggest two months of the year, so they can place more xbones inside homes because they don't have anything else they can do right now. halo mcc was their last attempt at getting xbones to homes without resorting to a net loss, after titanfall and sunset and forza horizon 2 yet they still got outsold up to that point.
now, a temp price cut is a short-term thing. it'll go back up after the holidays and xbox will harp about how they won the holidays and how they're back.
Imagine if they go back to this in January

What I'm saying is it could be the start of winning it back, the cheaper price/bundles MS have gone crazy for gives them an advantage and momentum to gain back sales and if it continued then they could close the gap quite easily over the next year. I very much doubt MS will be putting the price back up to $399 come January. I believe it will stay at $349. If it does, then it's a real danger that could certainly see MS win back the US as long as Sony doesn't react much and be more competitive than what they are now (unlike in the UK where they have fought to stay competitive). If the price goes back up, then yes, MS I think will struggle again, especially early next year when Sony have stronger releases. But I can't see that scenario ever happening now. Unless MS are losing far too much and are losing a hefty sum per console which even for them isn't sustainable. But MS needs someone to buy their system and if anywhere, it's going to double down on the US and bite that bullet.
Price cut is certainly a short term fix, but if they stay cheaper than the PS4, than that short term fix becomes long term. And I know the PS4 still hasn't come down in price yet and Sony still have that card to play, but really if XBone wins Nov and or Dec I just feel, like in the UK, Sony could have done so much more in the US to soften MS attempts.
The Season of Xbox will begin on November 2, when Xbox One will be available for a special, limited-time promotional offer of $349 in the U.S.

The battery is shit. The thumb sticks are shit. The triggers stick. I've replaced two of them already.
As for the quality of Sony's first party efforts, some of you keep fighting the good fight. The reality is, they're simply not very good. I've played most of them, and the best BY FAR is a remake of a year+ old game. I do like Resogun though.
As for Driveclub guy, you should check out Forza Horizon 2. That game actually works and is very well executed.
Regardless, eye on the ball, I think the PS4 is the better system solely because of the hardware architecture. But I'm still buying far more Bone games because everything else is better on that side of the fence.
No stupid avatars. No commercials, everything is almost literally two clicks away.
Sign me up, please.

they are bringing the price down for holiday to get more xbones to homes during the busiest day of the year. they didn't announce a permanent price cut unless they plan to lose money this gen.
if they stay cheaper then that was never a short term fix to begin with, but we all know they specicifically said it's for this holiday therefore it is a short term fix.
I think Sony could be doomed in the US now.
