Star Wars The Force Awakens character names revealed

Anyone wanna try matching up the original run of Star Wars cards and their numbers to these images?

Also, what if "Rey" is to her character like "Ben" was "Obi-Wan"
I went through the card names for the original 1977 Series 1 and 2 and got:

11 Artoo is Imprisoned by the Jawas
53 Battle in Outer Space! (shows x-wings)
67 See-Threepio and Luke
74 Luke Skywalker on Tatooine (shows Luke in speeder)
76 Artoo-Detoo on the rebel starship!
81 Weapons of the Death Star
88 Stormtroopers guard Solo's ship
96 The droids on Tatooine

For comparison:

#11 — BB-8 on the move
#53 — Poe Dameron in his X-Wing
#67 — Kylo Ren ignites his Lightsaber
#74 — Rey on her Speeder
#76 — Finn on the run
#81 — Stormtroopers prepare for battle
#88 — X-Wings in formation
#96 — The Millennium Falcon

I don't have photos, just titles but images for 11 matched up reasonable well, and 53 and 74 sort share a connection (xwing, luke in a speeder), but the rest kind of fell apart.

The early ones match up, but some of the others don't seem to, such as Kylo Ren's, as the blue set of the original Topps don't go up to 67.

Also, noticed while posting this, but beaten by FriendlyGoat.

It's possible we were looking at the wrong card sets for some of these, though, but that makes no sense, as they're all based on the New Hope cards.

I think the names are good. Probably better than the existing characters.

Id wager if the internet was around in the 70's, whiners would have stalked Lucas over effectively naming the main character after himself and using random names like Han, Leia, Chewbacca and Lando.

Those names look dumb too if you take their history away.

Good names. Rey Solo rolls off the tongue nicely.

Doubt the numbers are minutes since how likely is it that they have a cut that's even close to final? And if the Falcon scene is over an hour and half into the movie why blow it in a teaser?

BB-8 is cute and appropriate. Characters probably call him Beebee.

Poe Dameron. Well Dameron is cool but Poe is sorta funny. Hopefully everyone calls him by his last name.

Kylo Ren, I dunno about this one. Is it Keelo or Kai-lo? Either way sounds like a dog. Maybe it won't matter and he'll have a sith name.

Rey is fine, not much to say about it. Very plain, I can't argue. I'm cool with it.

Finn is a good name. It isn't the sort of name I expected for his character.

I think we can all agree that all of these are better than Sheev.

Pretty obvious that the numbers correspond to the characters level on the midi-chlorian chart, lowest being the one with the highest concentration per cell.

Or Kylo Ren McCormack.

I don't know what to think about the times. I really have some bad memories attached to "Poe", considering just about every "wanna be dark" teen from when I was growing up would use white-out to paint it on their backpacks or scribble it on their folders(because if you liked Edgar Allan Poe, you were somehow "brooding", deep and artistic). Urgh, vapid youth!

Dameron sounds cool though. Considering he's in military(a Rebel pilot), I'm going to guess many are just going to refer to him by his surname. Question is, is it pronounced "Damn-er-on" or "DAY-mer-on". I'm fine with either way.

Rey, I'm fine with. Finn, I'd much rather prefer knocking off one of the "n"s and having it as "Fin", or taking a little more creative liberty, "Fyn"(or Fynn, adding back the "n" would keep people from confusing it was sounding like "Fine").

BB-8 is perfect. I'm guessing they are just going to call it "Beebee".

Kylo Ren sounds very SW-ish. Though, IMO, it sounds more like a heroic name than a villainous name. I'm am glad at the absence of the stupid Sith naming. Darth Vicious, or Darth Killemall!

A lot of the names in Star Wars sound dumb at first. These sound pretty solid though!

Is anyone else pronouncing Kylo to rhyme with Tie-Low?
