FWIW: I just called Best Buy to change my Pit/Falcon/Luigi preorder (from the glitch deal a few weeks ago) to ship to home since I've read so many horror stories here.
The website still has the 12/30 place holder date, but the rep told me to expect them 1/5 or 1/7 to ship out. First I had heard this anywhere, so just passing it on.

Can't speak for all GameStops, but although they are behind it seems like its at least guaranteed if you pre-order from them, so far. Definitely seems to be the case in store.
Also my store is getting Luigi and Pit in shipment most likely tomorrow, so keep an eye out.
As long as he's going to sell them to other fans for what he paid, it's cool.

Update: A few people managed to pick up Lucario from ebay so I have THREE in-store pre-order cards around if anyone is interested.

Yeah, I figure I'll be able to find them in the wild before January, and then just cancel the order. I don't want to risk waiting until January when they are off shelves just to have BB mess it up.

That is how every Target in MD that I've called so far has answered. "We can't find them" fucking insane.
As long as you pay the MSRP+shipping, I don't mind.

Aww yeah. I raced a bit as Cap Falcon (stupid Mii name restrictions) this morning. So happy that the "heavy" Mii is the same weight as Morton AND I can get a config that uses the Blue Falcon that has the same stats (or close enough) as my setup in the Gold Standard.

TBH I would rather have them sent out late, and guarantee to get them than do an in store pick up.
It shows that it is becoming more frequent from this thread that most Best Buys aren't getting some of these amiibos since Nintendo/supplier will fail to send them for some reason.

Full set of wave 2 arrived from GAME. In perfect condition, despite one box being damaged on the outside (postman probably dropped it since there were half a dozen boxes in the delivery!) Surprised GAME really delivered. I was honestly expecting them to arrive in a dire state. Kudos where it is deserved, definitely.
Kind of seems like most of them might as well fit that description.
