New Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer

World looks great, hopefully the optional quests are way more interesting than the previous game.

Gotta say the character models and animation are really not very good at all though :(.

Uh... I don't think I'm seeing the same trailer as everyone else. Definitely seems like it's going to be a great game, but it's pretty in-your-face ugly. The exception being when you're airborne and you can't see the lack of detail on the ground.

This looks so good.

So what is the format of the game like?

i really get a Monster Hunter vibe... and i hope its like that.

Nintendo uploaded the trailer in 60fps. 60fps confirmed? that would be crazy.

60FPS? wat? No way people.

It's not like Monster Hunter, it's an RPG.

Go look up some Xenoblade gameplay, it will be similar (although Xenoblade has no mechs).

To someone who was primarily interested in this due to the mechs seen in earlier trailers, it is a bit disappointing to see so much footage of the characters on foot in recent videos.

Game was never focused on Mechs. The stuff shown at E3 showed that.

Only thing that bugging me is more realistic character design.

I want them to keep their old character design more.

Ignoring the absolutely horrible character design, the rest of the world looks beautiful.

However i'm a bit dissapointed with the gritty palettes they are using, looks a lot less lively than XC, nothing compares to the vibrant colours they used there (like in Satorl Marsh).

Maybe this is due to the lighting? do they have day and night cycle and weather? cuz that would be awesome.

The xenoblade stage in Smash looks really nice. With the changes from day to night its pretty epic. very colorful.

I need this game in my life right now. Those environments were amazing, and I'm so happy they played that song that was in the E3 demo. That means it will be on the website. I'm so excited! I love that song.

I think the art direction is great, which is the most important thing to me. Looks way better than Bethesda's generic junk.

The only other game remotely related to this that I have played was Xenogears way back in the day. I missed Xenoblade, and obviously from the title this game has more to do with the latter than the former.

So to correct my expectations: with this game are the mechs themselves purely for transport, or do we expect both on-foot and mech combat a la Xenogears?

From day one, this game and a new Zelda have always been what I was waiting to release in order for me to buy a Wii U. Can't wait!

While it's looking good it strangely looks less complete than FFXV does, even though it's coming out sooner. Are they just keeping their cards close to their chest?

I have to admit; this jrpg is getting me more hyped than FFXV right now.

I wish it wasn't so rare to get a JRPG on living room consoles these days.

The logo transition and the WiiU popup at the start are moving at 60. The actual game footage is not.

Sure doesn't look like it.

Just try playing it at 30 FPS and then switch to 60 FPS. Literally twice the frames.

EDIT: Actually, you might be right. I was confused after seeing the resolution spike from 360p to 1080p.

Guys calm down. you and I both know that running at 60fps for this game is a technical impossibility.

Who knows what kind of crazy optimization algorithms they've come up with? There's certainly a huge incentive for Nintendo to invest in high-IQ human capital that is capable of such thinking. Still cheaper than selling high-spec hardware below cost... Let us dream...

Oh my gosh, I LOVE THIS SONG!!

*Hits replay over and over!

Lovely environments. Traveling with mechs looks awesome.

I gotta learn Japanese before April of this year!!!!!!!!!!

God, help me please!

Those environments are extremely compelling. The character design sort of clashes with them, but that's a minor quibble. Hoping there's not too much of a wait for the North American release.
