Well, I was saying given it's the same artist as Xenoblade Chronicles...

He is? i thought they changed artists for the one that worked on the other Xenogames.
It was mentioned a few times here,

The faces are weird but im not sure its only for the art direction, doesnt make sense to have different looking humans with small eyes at the same time, probably they use most of their polygon budget at the scenary and the characters are low priority, like Xenoblade, and they are not very good at modeling human faces.

Well, either way, the characters look close to their respective styles of art

I don't have much of a problem with the faces. I do however think that characters with stronger facial features (not sure if I'm using that term correctly) tend to look better in the artstyle Monolith decided to go with. Like Van Damme

You're right. It makes the "doll" look stand out and seem strange.

Magazine comes out on Thursday, but scans usually start floating around before that (generally on Wednesday afternoon). Hopefully we get some quick translations from a truster Gaffer/website.

Alright, according to the link there's 10 pages of content covering background story, characters, setting, and location, an interview with Mr. Takahashi and info on the New 3DS port of Xenoblade.

I hope that they won't just be reprinting the stuff on the website for a print audience. That's always a possibility.

Well, we shall see soon enough. Based on the preview, there doesn't seem to be much new, but who knows? At least the interview should be really interesting.

The interview says the world of Xenoblade X is about 400km^2, which is 5 times the Xenoblade. But I think he did mention it was about 5 times of Xenoblade in the past.

Can't wait to read the whole interview ^^. In Takahashi we trust.

I loved the character designs in Chronicles. They fit their world. The characters in X have a tendency to look too doll like, which is a common problem when translating the most common anime styles directly into 3D. Actually, that's not a problem in and of itself, it's just that these doll like characters are placed in worlds done to a higher level of realism, which makes them stand out. This problem is then compounded by other characters also done to a higher degree of facial detail and you get this uncomfortable setting with multiple art styles sitting next to each other that don't fit together. X looks great, but the art is inconsistent. The environments and some of the characters work together, but the faces of many of the female characters are too simple and egg shaped, thus making them look more like dolls than people.

Funny because with Xenoblade Chronicles, they said you needed 80h to beat/complete it. 300h is a tad overkill, imo.

That's probably just being thorough, as he's most likely checking every quests and all that side stuff if they work as intended. I doubt playing it straight without doing any side stuff will even reach 150 hours.

-Xenoblade was traditional RPG, whereas XenobladeX is an open world RPG. Xenoblade was linear despite having big world. XenobladeX you will get quests from different places and have more freedom.
-Xenoblade had 1 vocal song at the end, but XenobladeX has many vocal song. (Many for RPG)
-Mira is 400km^2 which is 5 times Xenoblade. So there is Dolls which can fly. Also you can check your location via gamepad
-Battle system is based on Xenoblade, but it's faster paced and more action packed.
-4 player party, you control 1 and AI controls the rest.
-number of unique monsters and equipments have increased from Xenoblade.

Hallway simulator confirmed.

Sounds awesome. Let's hope this isn't just PR talk.

Xenoblade Chronicles X's world is 400km^2. If it were a country it would be the 60th biggest in the world by land area (Bigger than Japan, Germany and the UK).

Do we have any good comparisons to current gen open world games? I'd love to see scale comparisons cause that is really big.

Yea, I think I will join them and hope I can choose between black, white, red and blue. Also, I might make my character look like Albedo.
