Have Rockstar said anything about story DLC? Doesn't look like it's going to happen at this point.
Yeah they said it's in development a few months ago

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswi...ine-Update-Free-Deathmatch-Race-Creators-this

Coming in 2014

Expect big things in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Grand Theft Auto V next year including:

GTA Online Heists. We know many of you in the GTA Online community are super excited for the debut of co-operative Heists. Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year.

GTAV Story Mode Updates. For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas.

... I just noticed it said coming in 2014, did story dlc secretly get delayed too? Fuck, this is gonna turn into another heists situation, isn't it?

I hope this means we get another Bioshock from 2K, as much of a disappointment Infinite was for some people I still enjoyed it and would love another.

10mill on next gen is crazy..

We still don't have the rumored DLC and heist yet.
I'll be playing this game for a while.

Didn't Irrational Games get closed down? I assume it's more likely we won't see another Bioshock game for quite a while if ever.

HALO MCC is four games remastered + a TV show + halo 5 beta access. It's a Halo fans wet dream and an immense value for non halo players. Comparing it to GTA and Calling this a remaster does not do this package justice. GTA is nothing more then an enhanced remaster of a game that people played a little more then a year and launchs in a busy holiday season.

I think some people around here are totally over estimating what GTA will do and underestimating what Halo MCC will do this season.

GTA V is a remaster of a multiplat game that came out a year ago and sold so well that few owners of last gen consoles that buy at least one game a year don't have it, and most of those who do have it won't likely drop another $60 on a game they bought for the same amount last year, especially in a time of the year when there are other, newer games coming out almost every week.

Halo is a remaster of four games that are staying exclusive to a single platform brand that (for the most part) are old enough to garner huge amounts of nostalgia for those who played them and as a result huge amounts of internet hype, so much so that people who have only played one or two Halos are interested in picking this up to play the other games they haven't played.

Add to the fact that GTA V doesn't seem like it will be marketed for shit while MS will likely advertise MCC as much as they can, and you can easily see that MCC will sell well whereas GTA V will do well, but not really groundbreaking levels. Keep in mind that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition launched in an otherwise empty month and only did 85k. I expect GTA V to do 100k-ish, but I don't think it'll push consoles really any hard or anything and it definitely won't be near the top for that month. MCC, on the other hand, IMHO has the potential to do 200k-ish+.

LOL I remember when Gaffers said this wasn't going to sell as much as GTA4 and interest was lost in GTA as a whole. I'm about to get my PS4 copy within a week.

Oh my god...I don't even...wow.

I mean we didn't even need hindsight to know how much GTA V was going to sell did we? Jesus lol.

Let's add to that.

Just go over to Amazon.ca, Amazon.com Halo MCC is KILLING COD GTA V and AC Unity. It already ranks 76 on best seller of 2014. And yes COD, GTA and AC is no where to be found. Halo MCC is going to be monster, media coverage and hype around it is breath taking.

Not that it matters much but certainly tells you the overall interest. I will be SHOCKED if it even does 5million combine by the end of this year. But it will definitely cross 50million mark with PC release. no doubt about it.

just took this a min ago, and Halo MCC ranks #60 on best selling item of 2014. And yes COD AC and GTA V are not even in the list yet.

I'm seriously covering my eyes...the hype for MCC back then, contrast to what we got now....even I feel embarrassed...

MCC is KILLING GTA V

I'm in tears. There were people that actually thought MCC would actually outsell GTA V, just lol.

They're doomed to become gaming's Atlas, to hold onto that L for all eternity.

GTA is a beast, I'm not surprised.
I don't know if Take-Two is OK with Borderland sales...

Please Rockstar, now release RDR on Steam. Please :(
(or on PS4)

I was thinking about GTA the other day and it occurred to me that games always throw heaps of content at you in the way of enemies, weapons, etc but GTA somehow incorportates all of that content into level design. Even the cars are part of the environment (which just happens to be interactive). That might be why I enjoy the game so much, it's just fun to explore or just do whatever you want because even if you're not doing anything it still feels like you're part of a world where things are happening. It's a great design structure and I wonder if it will ever wear thin?

I have bought and finished all the GTA games (including the original top down ones) and have enjoyed them all (fave part would be the soundtracks). I'm really looking forward to where else they can take this series and now with so much guaranteed success they can pretty much do whatever they want.

Well in all fairness if MCC actually worked the way it was supposed to it would have had better word of mouth and probably sold a lot better. It was the reason I was originally gonna get an XB1 last year. But yeah it was always silly to think it would do as wel as GTA V.

Holy moly, I thought V had a chance to crack the 50 million mark, but now it looks more likely that it will even crack 60million, possibly even by the end of this year.

It certainly wouldn't have shipped 10 million copies by now. Let alone sell.

It's 10 million shipped not sold through
It's shipped though, not sold.

There are probably millions of PS4/PS3/XB1/X360 copies sitting on shelves world wide.

Shipped is the key word :p

It's money in 2K's and Rockstar's pockets. That's all they care about. Retailers are seeing enough demand for the game that they purchased that many units to stock their shelves with. It's not like 2K is shipping copies to retailers against the will of those retailers. They're paying for it. It's money already spent.

The whole "It's shipped! Not sold!" doesn't matter to earnings reports.

Didn't Rockstar/T2 get into trouble in the early 2000s for cooking their books by sending more games for retailers than they had ordered? Can't retailers return unsold units for their distributors?

Do we know how much GTA4 did on PC?

Arstechnica reports numbers for March 30th 2014 for copies on Steam to be between 2.1 million and 2.6 million plus any physical copies, that 'one' tracking site says 0.8 millions, and it might have sold two copies through GFWL marketplace.

They really deserve it. The current gen port is very good. They didn't shove this out unfinished. More developers/publishers should take note.

I mean, I bought the game three times, so. You're welcome, R*.

Story DLC isn't even released either. This game has legs, wings and a rocket strapped to it.

Funny thing is, when I was playing GTA 2 back in '99 I NEVER would've imagined the franchise would become the biggest franchise in gaming.

Does this mean the next one will probably get released towards the end of the console cycle again then. You wouldn't want to make less numbers on another installment.

Man, thats incredible even by GTA standards. GTAIV hit 28m just before GTAV released, it took 7 years to get there... GTAIV is @45million after a year and some change.

Those are very good numbers, even higher than my own estimations.

Gamasutra.
Headed for $1 billion in digital. Good on TTWO.
I should qualify this. They've done $536 million in the past 4 quarters. I'd expect them to record another $100 million or more in the net quarter, which would put them close to $540 million for this fiscal year.

That's 28% growth, year-over-year from FY14 to FY15. They're three years from being a billion dollar digital company. But they could accelerate, if they continue to do well. After all, growth this quarter was 64% from the same quarter last year.

Whiny comment? Lol. The truth is whiny now. You're the arbiter of commentary now.

It's a shame you're completely wrong about the PC ports on these games. What are you even angry over? Being wrong repeatedly? A port that doesn't even matter to you? There's no believable motivation.

I'm sure a mod will step in to save you despite your very bold, initiating antagonism which somehow doesn't matter to anybody modding this forum, but - I'll quit while I'm ahead.

I wonder how many more years people will try to attack RockStar and GTA? They've done exceptionally well and they will probably do even better with their next installment.

Another game another lawsuit. It's ridiculous. They've done this for years. The public should just let them be.
