They better be saving WWE 2K15 PC for next fiscal quarter. My hype already peaked and died and I didn't even read the presumably bad reviews. :v

Whiny comment? Lol. The truth is whiny now. You're the arbiter of commentary now.

It's a shame you're completely wrong about the PC ports on these games. What are you even angry over? Being wrong repeatedly? A port that doesn't even matter to you? There's no believable motivation.

I'm sure a mod will step in to save you despite your very bold, initiating antagonism which somehow doesn't matter to anybody modding this forum, but - I'll quit while I'm ahead.

Wrong about what? All I said was that they could, not meaning will, have not ported it to the pc at all, just like with San Diego not porting RDR. Clearly by their sales they're gaining way more profit than what was expected. I never said nor implied that they won't because they've ported all the other GTA games. You said "LOL 18 months to port a game", which was wrong because they're not porting the old gen versions, they're porting the current gen ones. No one's angry, I was asked to support my claims earlier which I did. This thread had nothing to do with pc ports, but the sales that were contributed from current consoles. You brought up the past quotes from a pc thread and quoted it "three" times which was unnecessary. The port does matter to me, which is why I want them to take their time with it, but making statements like "LOL how long are they gonna take", isn't going to speed the process. As for the bold, if u had any problems with my statements, you can just pm one of them about it, and not use it to threaten my status on this forum. If I offended you in anyway, then my bad.

Grand Theft Auto continues to amaze. Ten million on next-gen alone? Uncanny.

It will be interesting to see if GTA 6 can match these numbers. Rockstar keeps raising their own bar.

It is going to sell even better isn't it.

Those numbers are goddamn insane.

Really speaks about an ageing audience and how the 18-35 male demographic is more powerful than ever.

For a 60 dollar/euro packaged game, that's insane. I bet this is depressing "consulz is teh dead" crowd very hard, and sending a message to doubting publishers that the market indeed still exists and that they should make better games to capture a part of it. (looking at Japan)

With years of legs, sales and pc version still to come out, I reckon it'll go on to sell 60 million in the end.

10 million next gen!? Jesus Christ.

Yeah, after only 1 year there's already a couple 10 million sellers this gen: GTAV, Destiny, Watch Dogs and I bet the new CoD.

Launched NBA 2K15 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC, as well as on iOS and Amazon devices. The title is the highest-rated sports game of 2014 across consoles and PC*, and has continued the series’ trend of year-over-year growth with approximately 5.5 million units sold-in to date.

By the beard of Harden, that's an amazing number. well deserved, NBA 2k15 is pretty damn good(and PC port and post support were fantastic so far)

highlights from the call

  • As a result of our strong earnings at quarter’s end we had nearly $1 billion in cash and short-term investments.

  • Grand Theft Auto V already has sold in nearly 10 million units on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, bringing total sell in of the title to more than 45 million units across all consoles.

  • NBA 2K15 enriched our franchises’ legacy as the number one basketball simulation that sets new benchmark for realism with each annual release. The title was the highest rated sport game of 2014 based on average Metacritic score across consoles and PC, and already has sold in approximately 5.5 million units to-date, continuing the franchises’ trend of year-over-year growth.

  • The WWE 2K franchise has quickly proven to be highly successful addition to our annual offerings. This year’s launch of WWE 2K15 outperformed our forecast with sell in to-date up more than 40% compared to last year’s release.

  • Finally, the launch of the Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth added successful new titles to two of our most popular series. We are gratified that consumer remained dedicated to these brands many years after their initial release and our teams are deeply committed to taking these beloved experiences to exciting new heights in the future.

  • During the third quarter digitally delivered revenue grew 64% year-over-year and accounted for 23% of our total non-GAAP net revenue

  • The single largest contributor to recurrent consumer spending was Grand Theft Auto Online, which continued to deliver stronger than expected results.

  • Recurrent consumer spending has been growing enhancements to the success of NBA 2K series, including NBA 2K15. During the third quarter it increased nearly 90% year-over-year, benefiting from both online play and significant engagement with the MyNBA 2K15 companion app.

  • A variety of other offerings also contributed to recurrent consumer spending in the quarter, including downloadable add-on content, WWE Supercard, which has been downloaded nearly 6 million times since its release last August and NBA 2K Online in China, which now has nearly 24 million registered users.

  • From an industry perspective, we are pleased with the performance of the new hardware to-date, which has exceeded our expectations. Consumer demand for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One appears to have been strong throughout the holiday season with a combined installed base of these platforms exceeding 29 million worldwide at the end of December, according to IDG estimates.

  • Next Tuesday, February 10, we’ll mark the launch of Evolve, the only game in history to win Game of Show honors at both E3 and Gamescom in the same year. Last month, 2K launched an Open Beta and the feedback was enthusiastically positive and well received by the press. During the five day Beta test, YouTube content creators and Twitch streamers generated an enormous amount of content resulting in over 3.7 million unpaid YouTube viewers and 1.7 million unique viewers on Twitch. In keeping with our focus on driving recurrent consumer spending, Evolve will be supported with a robust array of additional content, including a value-packed season pass that features four new playable Hunters characters available this spring and three exclusive Monster Skins available at launch.

  • Also on March 24, 2K will release Borderlands: The Handsome Collection bringing the critically acclaimed series, which is sold in nearly 23 million units worldwide the next-gen consoles for the first time.

  • We’ve also continued to invest prudently in online gaming experiences for Asian markets. During fiscal 2016, we expect to launch Civilization online, a mass multiplayer online game being developed in partnership with XLGAMES. The title is planned for initial launch in Korea and we are exploring potential on other Asian territories as well.

  • Digitally-delivered revenue grew 64% to $217.2 million, up from a $132.8 million last year. Revenue from recurrent consumer spending, including virtual currency downloadable add-on content and online games, grew 23% and accounted for 36% of digitally-delivered revenue. The largest contributors to digitally-delivered revenues were offerings for the Grand Theft Auto series, NBA 2K15, the Borderlands franchise and Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth.

  • Turning to the details of our full year outlook, we expect the revenue breakdown from our labels to be roughly 50% from 2K and 50% from Rockstar Games. We expect our geographic revenue split to be about 60% United States and 40% international.

  • We have 10 franchises that each sold more than 5 million units and an individual release 40 multi-million unit franchises and we have labels with 2,000 creative folks who are actively working on a number of projects. So we believe, can and will be the highest quality projects in the business.

I remember in a thread a while back about half a year before GTAV's release someone here was arguing that GTAV would assuredly sell less than GTAIV because the latter left a bitter taste in most people's mouth and Rockstar had lost its good faith. He was so sure of this that he was willing to bet $100 on it.

I wonder what that guy is thinking now.

GTA launches are one of the only video game launches that can be considered "events"

Happens once every 5 years or so
Congrats Take Two and Rockstar

It seems incredibly improbable they wouldn't report a 7 million unit game.

soo what Civ 5 sold a couple of million (steam sales perhaps?) in the last 10 months this far out from it's release? Something is up cause even then say bare minimum guess BE sold what? 4 million then?

Civ V is constantly on the top sellers, and both of the games were extremely popular during the summer sales. No idea what the split would be, I don't think BE did less than 3m.

10 million sold-in seems too high for GTA V next gen

I believe NPD numbers are no much bigger than 2 million. I know is just USA and don't include digital, still... 10m seems overshipped.

I don't think NPD includes bundle sales, and the PS4 one sold quite well.
