Tomb Raider isn't exactly a series that has ever gotten people excited. Probably because it sucked for so long. And we haven't seen anything from this new tomb raider except a short CG teaser trailer.
The last tomb raider was good for the first few hours. Then when Lara became Rambo and the story became convoluted it sort of lost its appeal. Was almost a representation of the series itself as a whole. Fantastic design early on, but them dragged down by bad design decisions in the latter points. Tomb Raider 1/2 were fantastic when focused on adventure, treasure hunting and fighting shit like Lions. But as soon as you started hunting other humans and the game got marred by bad gunplay in TR3/4 and beyond it just got boring and was pretty much like everything else.
Those first few hours of the last TR were some of the most engrossing gaming I've had. QTE's and all! Great pacing, the tension was incredible. You were thrust into the fear and determination of Lara and I couldn't put it down .... until I started fetching shit for the sorry crafting mechanics. Interest started draining fast after all that began.
And yeh there is 0 chance of FFXV in the US. Maybe like a 2% chance of it in Japan 2015.
We know very little about new TR, so there is not much that can generate excitement. Especially after several stupid mistakes TR2013 had. Still, it was very good reboot.
FF15 was not eligible because only games that have either confirmed or highly hinted 2015 could be voted for.
Not laughing at Yakuza, but surprised it's popular, and surprised FF15 isn't there. But there are just opinions of a few users.. so to be taken with a grain of salt. Some said they think KH and Persona is trash. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion anyway.
I forgot to vote, but Uncharted 4 would get my first spot too. Good list.
I'm glad The Order is in Top 10. Is depressing to visit The Order threads and only finding an army of haters with it's usual "a generic tps with beautiful graphics" comment. This stupid description can also be applied to Gears of War, and it was one of the best games of last gen. Why The Order needs to reinvent the wheel to be good?

I don't get why some posters are viewing this list as some kind of indication of quality of said games. It's a hype list, nothing more.
I mean, loads of folks were hyped for the Phantom Menace but that don't make it a better film than Empire.

I am sure they will drastically improve the gameplay to your liking in uncharted 4....
The gameplay will be refined with additions from last of us but I don't see it changing anyone's opinion on it. It has always been a love it or hate it gameplay and I love it.

The name is most assuredly "anticipated", not "hype". It's a rational fondness for the future, and I sure as hell wouldn't have voted or cared if it was "hype".
Well you dont have to worry since the PSX demo and the edge and gameinformer preview sounds amazing.
I would worry more whether the actual gameplay in Zelda is improved given the shit show known as Skyward Sword. Hopefully they have improved the gameplay from that.

Bloodborne at number 4? Cmon son. I've never seen threads for a game explode like those Project Beast leak threads. It was majestic to witness.
2011 had zelda, uncharted, and dark souls. the only missing piece was mgs.
i think the wii u needs more games people can be passionate about. if zelda is that one game like bayonetta was, there might be huge turnout for just that title. you would also see bumps for xenoblade and possibly splatoon and star fox if they're any good, and votes for those games would probably boost all the rest as well.
here's the thing though: bayonetta 2 received only 12 more points than skyward sword did, and skyward sword was the #5 game on that list.
mgs is traditionally a playstation franchise, and uncharted represents the most popular studio in sony's collection. i wouldn't be surprised to see the list closely resemble the top 3 anticipated games here, with zelda bumped down to #4 just because there would be passion and numbers on the sony platform.

I wonder if the list would change more now that maybe interests/anticipation have shuffled a bit for whatever reason. Would be an interesting experiment to see, I think.
I don't get it either. Seems rather... generic. I do want to play the 4th Uncharted though. I played Uncharted 2 and thought it was OK but was really impressed at the PSX what they had shown enough for me to try the 4th game in the series.

I really like them but they seem to make huge gameplay strides with this one, with combat sandboxes that are unrivaled in the genre. The Edge cover article was a wonderful read and has me properly hyped.
I mean I like the Uncharted games but they just feel like im playing Indiana Jones movies in video game form and gameplay wise the games dont excite me that much, I just enjoy the crazy scenarios. I just find it strange alot people take this as their favorite game series when its one of those games that is less video gamey and more movieish.

I would have loved UC4 this year, but there is more than enough to play for me. I hope Cuphead won't be delayed.

I have high hopes for cuphead, especially when a developer compared a gameplay mechanic to sf3's parry system, its language like that which will peak my interest.

Well, Uncharted can be really dynamic, certainly there is nothing that plays quite like that PSX demo. If the whole game is on that level and has some good storytelling and some nice changes of pace with puzzles and what not, it could be THE third person shooter. I'm glad they take the time they need, it worked well enough for TLoU.
