Bloodborne: Impressions After 40 Hours (EDGE)

They played the trailer on PC, so....

Sure, and why not

They're just showing a video on the.. Whatever that video's playing on

Probably because it's being played back as a video on a computer screen streaming to the projector.

I really doubt they can conveniently get a mouse cursor to fade in and out in perfect sync with a specific shot being faded in and out in whatever video player they are using.
The source footage for that shot has a mouse on it.

So what is your explanation for the mouse then?

You level up your stats through the game just like any other Souls.

EDGE's impressions are kind of weird on this, they say your stats are determined by the trick weapon you choose. Maybe it's a combination?

That's fine, I just don't want there to be some classes that are a million times better than others.

I think you're onto something... I'm interested to see how far this rabbit hole goes.

Sorry guys, forgot you're not allowed to be even the least bit apprehensive about any aspect of this game! My sincerest apologies.

I think the problem is that most of your post is a knee-jerk reaction to a single players "impression" of a game they have yet to finish. That in the face of information that has come out less than 24 hours after said impression, people still cling to single out of context quotes.

You have the HNIC basically confirming the replay value of the game and breadth of weapons. . .yet here we are. If you're selectively focusing on only negative impressions, maybe don't do that. If not. . .then we'll you're trolling, and you probably shouldn't do that either.

When DS1 came out, I'm sure there were a great deal of people in a tizzy that certain gameplay mechanics had been changed from Demon Souls. And we know how hard DS1/DS2 bombed. . .

I really doubt they can conveniently get a mouse cursor to fade in and out in perfect sync with a specific shot being faded in and out in whatever video player they are using.

What exactly is your point?

It's also shot from an angle that would not appear in the game, since the game is always centered on the player's back outside of cutscenes.

Look, I'm very excited as well, and I'm sure it will overall be an awesome game, it just sounds to me like they have "dumbed down" certain aspects. I get the impression that this game is more focused on the moment-to-moment combat gameplay and might not be quite as deep as Souls when it comes to the more RPG-ish aspects. Which is fine, it doesn't have to be exactly like Souls. Hopefully it will still be just as good. Some of you have obviously already decided that it's the best thing ever, guess I'm not quite as convinced yet.

Nobody's saying you cannot be critical of the game. You are making claims about the game when we have no proof or indication that there is any truth to them.

Read the Edge "review". They've stated in the review that the world design blows the original Dark Souls out of the water and even said Bloodborne's world is a "masterpiece". I doubt they would say that if the whole game looked the same.

There's a cursor on my screen right now, NEOGAF FOR STEAM CONFIRMED?!

For all that is holy, "Are we sure this is PS4 exclusive" NEEDS to be the OT

Guys I never played any of the souls games. I know they are hard and that put me off. Anyway this one looks amazing and I get the itch to try it. Should I start with the older games first? Or go straight for this one? I have DS on PC but never played it.

Hopefully someone can help me out here, but I vaguely remember another ps3 exclusive having a mouse cursor in the trailer. I'm trying to figure out which game/trailer it was.
