Microsoft to have new exclusive IP at E3, focus more on first party titles

I have to admit i haven't really turned on my white xbox one in a long time. I have just been gaming on my Ps4. Xbox One hasn't had anything exclusive like The Order or Bloodborne. I have to admit i am REALLY excited for E3. I really hope Xbone picks up steam.

I guess we dodged a bullet then.

High anticipation for Quantum Break and Scalebound, and a 0% for Fable Legends...all is in good place !!

A bit more love for Forza 6 would be appreciated though. =P

Poor Fable Legends lol. Still curious to try it out, being free and all.

Yeah I was meaning Fable Legends and whatever unannounced game they have. Seeing how non-Molyneux Lionhead does will be interesting.
Lionhead's been in a weird spot since Molyneux left in terms of leadership.

I'm anticipating Legends just to see how it plays but we need to see a new IP from them soon.

I agree, I don't get why they even decided to this direction with Fable. They should have done something new instead. Legends sounds like it will bomb, hence they opted for free to play model. Don't get me wrong, I loved Fable, the first one especially, but this multiplayer thing isn't where I wanted the franchise to go, I wanted them to focus on RPG and storyline.
I was hoping for Fable Legends to either be a turn based RPG or an action RPG with a story based campaign and coop. As it is now I'll still give it a shot but it would be a waste of beautiful art assets if it isn't fun.

I love this mythical hidden teams at Sony Studios that are creating millions of new IPs...

Your really cant disprove my point. It doesnt matter if there was a Last of Us. There will be a Last of Us 2...

So at the end, Sony isnt better than Microsoft.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Stahp.

FF14 on ps3 and ps4 is amazing with a controller, can even use macros. Has a sub though but it is a vastly superior game.

I'm not going to pay a sub for an MMO. I'll either take the Guild Wars 2/ESO model or F2P if the model isn't egregious. Neverwinter fits that bill for the Xbox One. Good try though

Yeah, not sure what you are talking about... ff14 craps all over those,, you get what you pay for, but I am not trying anything.

I agree, but would like to add something.

That's why I call it an itch, and not a criticism of their current model/approach.

I have no issue with 343i being nothing more than a Halo studio, but like Destiny from Bungie, that temptation do rise up every now and then, thinking "man, what if?"

And I have tasted the forbidden fruit before, with Omega Boost from Polyphony. I'd personally rather Polyphony make Omega Boost 2 than GT7, to be completely honest.

Scalebound and Crackdown gameplay slices would be sweet.

If Microsoft hits all the right notes they could have one of the best E3 shows ever. But Microsoft's history of making the right moves when the opportunity arises isn't crash hot.

In your opinion yes, but I vastly prefer ESO with its PVP content and Storytelling. XIV is better with end game and raiding though.

You are the first person I ever heard say that FF14 is on another level then ESO or Neverwinter, it is by far the best MMO since wow, and the regular patches have more content then many MMo's get in expansions.

Phil Spencer seems to have a better grasp on what consumers want than previous people at the helm of Xbox so hopefully that will translate to better E3s.

Fine with me. I think they should take a break from Fable anyway. Maybe wait till next gen for Fable 4.

Yeah that's my feeling. Maybe not until next gen, but give the IP some time to breathe while they do some other stuff.

Jesus dude, people are allowed to have opinions. Its called different tastes. I'm much more of a PVP player in MMOs and ESO is best on the market right now for that.

I didn't claim ESO is better than all of XIV just parts that I enjoy. I've been playing MMOs since Ultima Online Beta 4, I know what I like and what I dont like.

You say you're sick of console wars and then act like this with MMOs. There's a reason there are so many different successful MMOs, different tastes for different folks.

so basically people are expecting to see gameplay of games that they showed pre-rendered cgi trailers from last e3?

i would expect more announcements, and by more announcements i mean no cgi announcements.

I'll never understand this attitude. I'm all for a little genre experimentation within a franchise. A co-op brawler in the Mortal Kombat universe starring Liu Kang and Kung Lao works. A Persona fighting game turned out to be pretty good. An asymmetric multiplayer game based in the Legacy of Kain universe turned out to be really fun. I WANT a 3rd person Halo spin off focused on a Spartan squad and team tactics. A multiplayer fantasy co-op game set in the Fable universe sounds like it could be a good time. As long as it's not meant to supplant the mainline version, I don't see the problem. Go nuts. All I care about is if it's fun or not.

Why are you so defensive? I don't care about FF14 and it has nothing to do with this thread. We get it, your obviously showing your colors but there's other threads you can go shit up.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

I bet we still get at least 3 CGI announcements.

Well, yes.

We know close to nothing about Scalebound, so I would love to see actual gameplay and know more.

I agree with the general sentiment, though. The Scalebound/Phantom Dust/Crackdown trifecta was straight-up silly last year. I hope it doesn't happen again.

I bet we still get at least 3 CGI announcements.
Well, this time around I refuse to waste my time even thinking about them if this happen unless at the very least we know who's actually working on the damn thing.

Scalebound is a barely-ok reveal in my book, but somewhat passable given the baggage that the director's name carries. But PD and Crackdown were completely, 100% pointless reveals IMO.

You're right, I did come across as an ass, sorry about that, as for true colours not sure what you are talking about....I just got carried away with an opinion. A quick look at your post history and I can see no one is perfect.

Anything could happen but why do you expect that? They have plenty of games announced that we've seen nothing of like Scalebound, Tomb Raider, Forza 6, Crackdown, Phantom Dust, and Gears. Why would they announce more games when they've already announced games through 2016 that they haven't shown anything of.

In for a Cortana amiibo.

Seconded! Also really hope Phantom Dust makes it way to Win10 at some point. I know people think it's cancelled but I actually hope happened was that it massively increased in scope. It seems like the perfect revenue generator a'la Hearthstone, and maybe MS caught a whiff of that and rearchitected.

I don't necessarily disagree, but my first thought after reading your question about PD was...hell yes, I would love to see a sequel to Omega Boost!

Hah, I never played that game, I wasn't well versed in the video game industry at that time. But by all means, perhaps it would be cool!

so from heere on out is it just cgi prerendered announcements then actually gameplay at next year's e3?

i thought we are already over those after killzone 2. it seems like xbox still likes to use those kinds of things.

actually, what i think happened was those games weren't even in any playable state so that's what they did. xbox probably didn't think their initial business plan was going to fail (they most likely had a road map for the first 2 years of things they wanted to accomplish), so they made deals very close to the console launch hence we haven't seen much of the exclusive games because making those takes time.

not to mention, xbox doesn't have any presence in other conferences like gamescom, tgs, etc. they announce a game or two, not a plethora of games.

I understand, I have had the same thoughts some times, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter that much for me. 343i has literally done nothing but Halo, and while good, I haven't been a super fan of any of it.
Racing is Turn 10s forté, a genre that doesn't interest me much anymore.
Gears of War kind of inspired Bulletstorm, don't know if that counts.

Omega Boost was before my time so I can't relate. What I can relate to though is Lionhead. they made Black & White once upon a time, which was pretty interesting. Since then, just Fable. We're finally getting a new IP from them , though, so I guess we'll get the answer to "What if?" in LH's case. It will be a good E3, me thinks.

Why? Because they have other studios making games that have to be announced eventually.

-Gears is most likely only getting a teaser to close out the show.
- I see them showing off Forza before the actual conference sorta like Horizon 2.
-Scale bound, halo, tomb raider will all get demos, maybe crackdown.
- Fable won't get any stage time and will probably be shown off or given a date before hand.
-Phantom dust( while i believe still exists) I doubt it would be there.
- maybe the division gets a reel and a date. But I can't see another full blown demo
-Cod demo of course. If they have it
- segment on windows 10( maybe mention gigantic)and holo lens

That leaves plenty of time for an UndeaD labs mmo teaser, Rare reveal and possible demo of Joe Montana???

They tend to announce games super far out in advance. That way it always looks as though there's a full slate. I would expect the same this time.

That's not a slight by the way - they have a great line up for the holiday and I expect them to start doing well at that point. It's hurt up to this point with the huge drought since Sunset (with a couple nice things to help like Ori), but I'm hopeful this will be the only major drought for the console.

Sounds good. I hope it's a big-budget AAA retail title. I'm tired of "Here's a brand new series" reveals that turn out to be some $20 downloadable title.

Ori and the Blind Forest was one of the best games I've played across several generations. It does a disservice to developers that work hard on games like that to just toss them aside because it isn't $250 Ultra-Delux Super Turbo Collector's Edition AAA Generic Shooter #857, 2015 Edition.

That was the best $20 I've spent on gaming in YEARS. Seriously, some of those digital titles are vastly superior to most of the retail releases.

How many exclusive exclusives has Microsoft put on the XB1? I'm talking about games that weren't ported to 360 or PC or merely console exclusive.

SMFH. Every thread. Although I guess with this thread being specifically about MS exclusive to be shown it should come as no surprise.

Still though. Both consoles are great. Can we please put the list wars and console wars to rest, please?

I think there will be Gears of War, but I'm not sure it will be the new one.

They'll do what they did last year Halo imo: news on some sort of remaster and a teaser for Gears 4, although I do think they might give us a very small snippet of gameplay just so we can see it and get hyped
