The door leads to the bridge where the cleric beast is....
Its not a door to anywhere. Just a shortcut.
And soon, to a new area!

What a circle jerk this place is. I simply state I am holding off a full price purchase until a bug (that I notice and I don't have to play to notice) is fixed and a bunch of people come out of the woodwork to egg me on and make it like I am ready to bomb the FROM offices and I am on some crusade. I just offered my opinion on a message board. I fully intend to buy the game. I love the Souls series, currently playing through DS2:SotFS , and I am not sure why I got such a negative reaction to a statement regarding a held off purchase. I often hold off on games that have technical issues (mainly frame rate and frame pacing) and it usually pays off. I was faced with similar comments and interactions when I was holding off on playing GTA5 until a PC or next gen release and that paid off. I am drowning in games at all times so why not play them when issues have been ironed out. To the people who circled the wagons over my buying habits I am glad I won't have to deal with you any further.
Watch the video dude. Thats not going to be a new area.
And soon, to a new area!
Like I said on Twitter... this made me so, SO disappointed
Don't watch unless you want to be disappointed!
If the door was open now, it would just be a shortcut.

The world features Cthulhu. It very well could be a door with a magic portal. What new area?
The door leads to the bridge. The door is worthless.
If the door was open now, it would just be a shortcut.
Unless its a magic door that somehow defies the geometry of the world?
I already seen it before!
Geez you guys, have you played the previous Souls DLCs? They never connect directly to the world. Probably just teleport you to a new area. Similar to using the Tonsil stone etc. that's what I mean.
Because the video is suggesting with proof that its just a shortcut that lead to and from the Cleric demon.I know what it's about but usually anything DLC related is added later. It's not gonna be in the game yet. So people can try digging and they'll find nothing. The prompt is what makes me suspicious.
The theory is that they meant to have it be a shortcut at some point, but then maybe changed their mind? Why give you the Closed prompt? What's the point?

Don't let facts get in the way of his persecution complex...People jumped on you because you went way out into hyperbole world with your "pile of technical shame" thing, not because you aren't playing Bloodborne right now. Calm down dude.
Why give you the Closed prompt? What's the point? Could've just been a random door you can't open like the rest of the game.
Sounds like a quick hotfix to me. They decided to nix the shortcut, and just kept the default locked message up.
The long loading time made me a better player because I didn't want to go thru that every time I died. I was more cautious and played smart. It has it pros and cons. In my case it was pro.

That door will not lead to DLC unless they make it a portal of some sort instead of a functioning door. The biggest suspect for a DLC link for me was the closed ladder door in B. That area felt like such a waste anyway so it would be perfect for DLC.yrgenwerth

Some balance changes
Cannon: consumes 12 QS instead of 10
Old Hunter Bone: consumes 5 QS instead of 6
Choir Bell: requires 15 arcane instead of 20, 8 QS instead of 10.
Holy shit the bolded is super harsh.
RIP in peace Cannon
With a Rune and blood bullets you can still get several shots off. Seems reasonable considering no damage nerf.
Jesus what's with you guys and this crazy Cleric Beast closed door DLC hype? Lol, it's just a closed door...

Yeah, that trap door is my first guess for an entrance to future DLC.I'm more interested in the latch on the floor, in. It seems like it should open and lead somewhere via ladder, like the one leading to the Cathedral ward. Even the Sinister bell is disabled when you stand on it, making it seem like a shortcut.Byrgenwerth
I could always use some more eyes.you will see, you will soon see!
need more eyes!

It's a more than competent release from a developer known not to be the most technically proficient in their games.
But it's not? It does take time to boot up the game from scratch to the initial 'play online' option... this skips that, at least.
Why shouldn't we praise them? Some games never get patched, and that sucks too. Sure, it would be better if games were all launch ready when they're launched, but at the same point in time it's nearly impossible to release a large game like bb completely bug free. There's likely going to be some odd issue (if you talk to a npc y, then do xyz, it breaks the quest!) that playtesters simply never found... and it's great when those issues are patched.
At least BB was released in a fully playable state - it certainly wasn't broken and there was nothing significant enough to delay the release (and all the issues that entails). loadtimes were never a deal breaker for me. Matchmaking needs work, though -- I can get it working but there's obviously lots of room for improvement.
never caught that. i feel like the dead end on thewas supposed to lead to something as wellbig street in the unseen village
Still no fix for my biggest technical issue! Unless someone can fill me in on a lore reason.

Pretty sure there's a note in Yharnam that specifically says the Healing Church sealed the door on the bridge to prevent the scourge of beasts spreading to the Cathedral Ward.

Even for fromsoft this is pretty bad. I don't remember having slowdowns and when killing a group of enemies in DeS, DS 1 & 2
