Patience grasshopper, no teases or leaks will make the eventual reveal all the more sweeter.

:( Hmm, after waiting patiently for two years, it pains me not to hear any vague rumors about the game. To be honest I don't care about the info, I just want it to be reveled at E3. And if there is no smoke, I fear this E3 will be no show. I wish we weren't shown that tech demo so early, and then treated with a silent treatment. But to be honest I blame the internet. If the reaction to their reveal was not so ignorant, I am certain they would have been showing the game in its build up stages. But since the reception was borderline ridicule, it was probably decided by Sony that it is best to wait for the whole package before fully revealing the game.

You people hating on Platinum, you cray, cray I say.

Mechanically, they are the best of best. You might not like the games they make, but they are undobtedly some of the best crafted in the industry. In no way overrated.

Why are people hyped for Sony conference? Outside of maybe like Dark Souls 3 being shown there.

Don't care about DS3. What I'm Interested in seeing:

1. Gravity Rush 2
2. Level-5's new PS4 game
3. Rime gameplay footage
4. Updates on Drawn to Death (the gameplay impressions makes this sound really good. The color update improved the visual look of the game by a ton)
5. Update on WiLD
6. SFV new character(s)
7. One of these: GG's new IP, Bend's new IP, or MM's new IP

Why are people hyped for Sony conference? Outside of maybe like Dark Souls 3 being shown there.

Because many of their studios still haven't shown anything or they haven't shown anything in quite some time

Sony Japan - Nothing since Knack
Polyphony - Nothing so far
Sony Bend - Nothing so far
Media Molecule - Tearaway Unfolded. But still nothing on their new IP
London - Nothing so far
Guerrilla second studio - Nothing so far
Sony Santa Monica - Nothing so far
Cambridge - Nothing so far

Then you have what they have announced. They have a lot in their pocket, it's just a matter of what they decide to pull out.

Sony have been pretty lacklustre so far and haven't actually flexed their muscles. Loads of their teams are working on unannounced games and they've got some great indie/smaller titles on their platform.

They've also sparked up quite a few relationships with third parties in the West and in Japan.

PlayStation has always been about diversity and I think we'll see that at E3.

Hmmm... I feel like Microsoft's gonna have a good show. Sony already wins if they have No Man's Sky on stage IMO. But I hope this is the year Phil can finally talk me into grabbing an Xbone.

I am sorry but while I plan on getting No Man's Sky, I am burned out on it. I don't want Sony to spend TOO much time on it. Would like to see a little more on combat thought.

Hmmm, thinking on how the structure will be.

Sony: Start with the Current, Middle could be 2016, end could be surprises / collaborations

So if they start with current titles, releasing 2015 I would say No Mans Sky. If they start with future titles, like 2016, I would think maybe they open with Horizon. Or they want to get the 3rd party stuff out of the way, so they start with Star Wars.

With Sony's past conference, that would be a good bet with Vita sprinkles here and there... also VR too.

I'm really excited for E3 already. We already know that we're getting:

Ryu DLC for Smash
Street Fighter V
Animal Crossing Wii U
Dark Souls III
Fallout 4
Mario Kart DLC
Bloodborne DLC

Like those are pretty much all of my favorite game series right there. I'm set, and that's without any potential surprises.

I fully expect for the lights to dim and sony opens with UC4 and the trilogy bundle gameplay on the side (maybe some multiplayer beta)

Here's a hint! I'm going to have 7 GIFS so have fun to figure out 7 games.

Hmm... Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mirror's Edge 2, TLG, MGS V, Dishonored 2, Metroid, XCOM 2?

Possible alternates - New GG IP, Prince of Persia, Homefront: The Revolution, Fable: Legends, Hitman, Metroid, WiiU Vitality Sensor

So I'm thinking - Microsoft will have a good show but I think the issue is that we know a lot of what they have coming already due to how early they announced a lot of their games in the post launch panic to fix their messaging.

We'll get Quantum Break, Scalebound, Halo 5, Gears Ultimate, Fable Legends, Forza 6, Crackdown, Killer Instinct Season 3 and Tomb Raider for sure, but what could they pull out to really steal the show? Their line up is good, but it also lacks mystery at the moment.

They'll obviously have surprises, and I think thats what will decide how much people are talking afterwards. Tomb Raider needs to impress in spades to drown out any noise Uncharted 4 will make later in the day, and in the event Sony pulls out something like TLG which will probably dominate media and online discussion, they need something equally are eyebrow raising.

Maybe I've just grown tired of waiting for exciting first party titles. Bloodborne was amazing sure but every time there's supposed to be new info on something I get nothing.

Tldr lowered expectations but I'd like to be surprised.

8 days!

I really want the Dark Sorcerer tech demo to be a real thing.

Just blew my mind. Shit looked like live action film at times.

It was a real thing. There was a video on YT with dev showcasing the engine to the E3 crowd, he moved the camera, turned on wireframe mode, and more.

As of the next game from QD, it will be something brand new. They always create tech demos that are standalone.

What do you think each of the big 3 will open up with?

Sony: UC4?
MS: Halo 5 or FM6?
Nintendo: ?

Sony or Microsoft will open with a CoD mission. It's looking like Sony but I fully expect one of the 2 shows to open to a 5 minute gameplay section on BLOPS3.

Depending on who takes that, I think Sony would open with UC4 and Microsoft would open with Tomb Raider. Microsoft tends to hold onto Halo and Gears stuff until later in the conferences.

In a world of people complaining that we've not seen enough, you say you're burnt out.

I'm gonna go ly dow

Joke post?

The Tomorrow Children, Rime, the Witness, No Mans Sky, Persona 5, Star Ocean 5, Dragon Quest: Heroes, Uncharted 4, Until Dawn, Street Fighter V, GG's new IP, MM's new IP, The Last F'in Guardian, amongst many others.

I think Crackdown will get a short teaser or skip E3 completely. Also if Microsoft (as they seem to) have lost marketing on games like AC and COD which they had last year obviously that will free up conference time which will then be taken up with the games mentioned above. Phil did say a bigger focus on 1st party though so I think their E3 conference will be for 3rd parties who don't have their own one such as titles from Deep Silver or 2k as an example (Homefront and Battleborn marketing as my predictions for this)

Whoever has marketing for games from publishers like EA, Ubisoft, Square and Bethesda, well they own show to have that stuff they don't need to double dip on everything although they will do for Tomb Raider

Killer Instinct Season 2 wasn't announced at the conference, it was in the pre-show. Gears 4 will take up most of the Gears time but they mentioned the daily shows which are in the afternoon for Gears so I'm not really sure about that to be honest.

Surprises will be: Rare, Twisted Pixel, Press Play and (at a long shot) Decisive Games, purely because Kudo name dropped the latter in a recent re-org, can't see why he would do that unless they were close to showing something although it could be Gamescom.

New partnerships are also important to them, I think we will see new ones I'm not sure how many they can "renew" from previous partners, I don't expect Dead Rising 4 to be Xbox/PC exclusive again and if this was the E3 we were likely to see Ryse 2 announced well... yeh.

Strange that there has been so many years since we have seen The Last Guardian. Every year i have a small feeling that it will return only to see the TLG funeral thread being bumped every time. I know that it will one day come out so i am not afraid, i just want to see a small glimpse next monday. UC4 Gameplay + TLG tease = Mindblown!

I honestly don't think we're gonna get anymore Mario Kart 8 DLC, more so if the reports of the game's producer moving to the mobile games front are true.

I have little interest in Dark Souls 3 after playing Bloodborne, which is like a hundred times better, so hopefully that's more than just Dark Souls again. That'll probably be at Sony, right? Still, I'd rather see that than some generic western game that was announced earlier in the day. Which is clearly going to happen multiple times because these things are so political and Sony just has to have an unbearably long conference.

Damn straight! Preach!

Fun games with a lot of flaws but the flashy-ness kind of makes them be overlooked. And don't even get me started on the hypocrisy shown on aspects such as QTE's on Platinum games vs others.

No, people like Platinum because of the precision and depth of the gameplay mechanics in their games, not because they've been tricked by flashy spectacle. I think there's a divide on Platinum depending if you're the sort of person who plays games to have fun/be challenged or if you're the sort of person who plays games to be immersed in a world.

As for QTEs, the problem isn't that QTEs exist, the problem is the whole fight being a QTE. Like in Mordor.

Guerrilla Games and Sony Japan possibly showing up in a big way. Those two studios excite me. Oh and that Level-5 thing that's been teased.

In my fantasy la-la land, they announce more collaborations with SEGA.

The lack of announcements and info has left some people with their imaginations running wild My expectations are pretty tame though to be honest. It could be a wild E3, or they might need to hold their cards a little closer to the chest until later events in the year.

We don't really know what Sony's studios are up to, its pretty exciting.

Besides what we already know about (UC4, No Man's Sky, Rime, Until Dawn, etc.), there's the promise of so much new. A possible Suicide Squad game in the Arkham style? An RPG shooter about hunting robot dinosaurs with your tribe? An open world horror game? Having two different studios working exclusively on VR games? A really talented, creative, insane studio making what they promise will be a full fledged 3D modeling tool?
The Last Guardian?
All that on top of promised third party exclusives make the Sony conference a huge point of excitement for any PS4 owner (and hopefully Vita. Who am I kidding?).

Not necessarily. They did a demo video for Heavy Rain that included characters from it. I feel like they also did something similar for Beyond? It throws me for a loop that they did two of these, though, between Dark Sorcerer and Kara. They did file for the URL for a game called "Singularity" two years ago that was heavily rumored to be related to the Kara demo, so I'm curious to see which one they end up going with.

I think so. I mean, after 5 E3s of soul-crushing disappointments, I think I've gotten used to it.
Ya. Its been fun hoping for it every year. I think this will be the last E3 I reserve any excitement for it. If its there I will have a meltdown but if its not then I think I will throw in the towel.
until next year
