Yesterday they tweeted Bayonetta 2.
The day before they tweeted The Wonderful 101.

Doesn't Capcom still have their staff from DMC3/4? The world can only be in balance if this E3 gives us DMC5 and a separate new PG game.

Clearly the answer is Platinum Vs Platinum (PvP). Crossover game with characters from every Platinum game in it.

Pretty sure it would be several hours later.

Yeah, you're right, but it's still the same day.

I'm personally NOT expecting anything nintendo related despite my ardent hopes but it's the digital event could feasibly be the actual announcement with a hands-on demo a few hours later.

I can't get to grips with Rising 2 potentially maybe possibly existing

Neiteio, JC, somebody hold me
Hey man, I'm just as on edge now. And so is JC, even if he acts too cool to admit it. :p

Imagine if MGR2 is announced and they launch a trailer with a song on it, like they did with Bayo 2

They say the gameplay will be premiered on the IGN stream. If it's announced at a conference but gameplay isn't shown until IGN's aftershow stream then it probably isn't a major title, otherwise the gameplay would be shown off at the conference.

What? When has this ever been the case?

I don't really see Sony jumping on a PS4 exclusive from Platinum, they have enough stuff coming out of Japan that's PS4 exclusive or console exclusive as it is, 2nd half of this year is basically raining PS4 exclusives coming out of Japan, like P5, EDF 4.1, DQ:Heroes, Onechanbara Z2, Godzilla, and that's just the mainstream stuff I know about. Guessing this will be something multiplatform.

This is the weirdest way of announcing a new game... wouldn't it make sense for Platinum to tease a game... and then say "first details at IGN"

So a 2d metroid game with the same great exploration and a solid combat system and OTT boss battles doesn't appeal to you?

No because I remember the last time the franchise was given to a "stylish action" developer. :p

Metroid should go back to Retro.

How big is Platinum? Just so I have an idea of the scope of the game?

Edit: NVM. Wikipedia says 171.

171 employees.

130-140 active devs more or less - give or take.

80-100 working on Scalebound if it's AAA as MS claims. 2016 release...

Umm....not sure how they're managing.

Like basically every development group, from Nintendo EAD to Naughty Dog, they outsource some of the work required on each game. It's not literally just 171 people working on all of their games.

Plus, I was under the impression that a LOT of the work on Scalebound is coming from internet Microsoft devs...

Ultimately I agree with you. I would take a Metroid Prime by Retro over almost any other game. If it was going to be a Nintendo franchise I think F-Zero would be the best option.
