Halo |OT 24| In Before the Locke

On the topic of the classic Halo theme, I know we'll have a healthy dose of the Space Monks™, but I hope we here the full Warthog run in all of its glory, that'd get me more hyped than anything, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Warthog run would be delicious
They said they toned down steitzer from beta feedback. same with spartan chatter

That being said Reversal and PEEERRFFFEECT were the best steitzer additions to a halo game

Perfect was my text message to be for a while there

Speaking of Halo 5...are grenade hit markers (visible or audible) removed?

Did MasterBiggy or Ragnarok hack your account?
I think they removed them.
Biggest issues for me are still ADS and unlimited sprint. Can't wait to see toggle functionality for at least sprint, but I did like the DMR change. Still nowhere near as good as classic zoom of Reach or Halo 4, but much better than the scope in beta. The sides are completely devoid of visual info now though.
What's so hard about just giving us the option in the settings to choose either ADS or classic zoom?
I just realized: at this point my biggest concern about Halo 5 is the H4 style Steitzer announcements in multiplayer, lol. It's ultimately a small complaint, but they're seriously terrible. Announcements were yet another thing Reach did best (though it had a few unnecessary ones).

If they tone it down and make it sound a bit less digital. It would be fine.

That seems to me more of a....funeral piece

I actually prefer Halo's somber, more emotional tracks, so I dunno it really works for me.

Besides, typically quartets will play more demure, quieter tracks before the actual ceremony at weddings.

I've been seriously considering these folks though.

My fiancée and I are both huge video game nerds, especially when it comes to music and soundtracks, which is exactly the Videri quartet's MO.

Never heard of BoomCo in my life, why do they always seem to go with the 2nd-3rd place market leader?

Boomco is Mattel, a tiny mom and pop operation out of El Segundo. And their tech (sticky darts, multi-mechanical loading, accuracy and range) is second to none. Whereas you're named after an effete Spanish peacock.

That's amazing and hilarious. I was totally rewatching them this morning and last night lol

Also, did anyone else notice this?

Looks like Team Osiris. Locke, is obvious, and the woman on the right could be tanaka, and the other Vale, but the dude in the middle is definitely not Nathan Fillion.

EDIT: Well, could just be rehearsal. I don't know how MoCap works, but in Theatre and Film there are always rehearsals without all actors included.

Yup. I mean, it's not always a nightmare, but the fact that host is still so obvious and getting spawned killed is so frequent in that game...So the need to defend yourself properly is amplified by the speed of the game. Lack of hit reg really just makes frustration soul crushing. I played 5 games tonight. It's so great I can get into a game. It taps into my nostalgia and I get giddy. Unfortunately, hit reg like I experienced when Halo 2 first launched is still an issue.
Stuff like host advantage and bad spawns were par for the course for H2, but the overall hit registration is still definitely way off. It's a good deal worse than it was on Kai/XBC the last few times I played.

How old are you? What country or state are you posting from? (Optional)
26, as of today.
Alabama, USA
Get me out of this state
Whereabouts in 'bama? I spent a lot of time around Birmingham for work and I always enjoyed being there. Shockingly large amount of money in that area.

I wasn't a fan of most of the medals and announcements, but goddamn if "perrrrfect" wasn't immensely satisfying each time.

Fillion might just be doing voice.

Definitely rehearsal, they aren't wearing the black spandex mocap suits with the dots.

Yeah, I mean, the Halo 4 mo-cap actors were not the same as the V.O. actors.

The key thing for me about Reversal and Perfect is not the audio. It's the fact they exist. Reversal in particular is Halo MP nailed. For all the medal bloat, it's so good.

Check out the dudes with the energy swords in the back. If I was ever to cosplay (I will never) I would do it as the stand-in guy during a mo-cap rehearsal, much lower bar to reach.

I've already expressed my joy and excitement for new The Sprint episodes in the other thread. I remember it being mentioned a while back, but I had forgotten and didn't know we'd get it this soon.

I'm about ready to abandon Destiny and (despite issues) finish my play-through of the campaigns and get back into MCC MP.

See, it;s definitely a rehearsal what with the missing MoCap suits, but it is also possible that Fillion is only doing voice, even though he could definitely be the physical actor where are Steve Downes is short and a bit older.

I also gotta point it out, but in 2558 when Halo 5 takes place, Buck is 48 years old. Should he not have at least some grey in his hair?

Maybe he went through cryo sleep and/or he has good genetics.

I recently finished my playthrough of 1-4 and then ODST on Heroic and it was a blast, I never had any issues with the campaign.

Not necessarily... My dad is in his 50s and has zero grey hair and has never dyed it once. All a matter of genetics.

Clean living.

Actually Nathan Fillion is acctually 44 and doesn't have grey (arguments go here) and in almost 550 years we'll probably live longer and healthier (I don't care about this and am only responding to play devil's advocate, respond in kind).

Yeah, I just meant MP-wise. I haven't had any campaign issues either, just been working through it slowly due to other games taking my attention and forge soaking up most of my MCC time when I have booted it up.

Just met Rippin Heads and Golden Girl in Halo 3 ranked. (For those who don't know, they are semi pro players)

Rippin Heads accidentally betrayed Golden Girl and was just staying there looking at her dead body. Was hilarious. :D

In the retail space of "toy guns that shoot darts" boomco is less than 5 years old. And they really don't advertise all that much.

Compared to Hasbro with their multiple Nerf brands. So its not surprising that boomco hasnt made it into the mindshare yet.
