Nolan North: Amy Hennig/Visceral's Star Wars game is "in the style of Uncharted"

I typically don't get excited for Star Wars games, but I'll make an exception for an Uncharted-style game with Amy at the helm. That could be something very special indeed. Just pleeeeease for the love of all that is holy, don't make it open-world.

Edit: Amy's great, but using the "Uncharted" distinction with a Star Wars game doesn't really excite me. A Star Wars action adventure game would be great, it's the Uncharted bit that rubs me the wrong way. That shouldn't be the selling point and I love me some Uncharted.

Wouldn't mind if it was a game based on Han Solo, Boba Fett or something entirely different. Uncharted and Star Wars are two of my favourite franchises. Adding the fact that Amy is involved and you've definitely got my interest. Can't wait for more news :)

Not sure if I want.

Uncharted is good enough, with a SW games I want to kick ass with a lightsaber and a proper combat system. Focus on melee combat, please. Don't focus on the third person shooter part.

If this is a Boba game like some are saying that would be the sickest. I like the idea of Han Solo but it seems weird to have anyone but Harrison Ford be him. Maybe they bring back a re-imagined Kyle Katarn. I suppose there are several places you could take this.

Why? The original Star Wars trilogy is nothing but corny dialogue, male/female flirting, action scenes and shooting. Basically Uncharted.

Han Solo post Return of the Jedi or Kyle Katarn... Fett is lame. :p

Uncharted in Space doesn't feel right to me. A mesh of both should sound like a resounding win, but when I put them together it just doesn't work for me. Besides, her work should be able to stand on its own regarless of what she had worked on in the past. Uncharted is a fantastic franchise, but this Star Wars game should stand on its own merits.

You know what, I'll just blame Nolan North for my feelings on this one.
I still love you Nolan

As much as I absolutely love the Uncharted games, the last thing I want to be thinking when plating another game is that it really reminds me of playing Uncharted.

Really don't want a bunch of 'cinematic' 3rd person shooters that are far more concerned with extremely polished presentation over fun and interesting gameplay.

I consider this bad news as of now.

Dead Space Wars

It'll be great! Like Dead Space, but with no dismemberment. And none of the interesting tool-weapons. And without the cool suit. And without the horror vibe. And the wide array of enemy size/shapes with differing attacks will be replaced by humanoid aliens with blasters.

I'm gonna go cry in the corner.

So developers best know for third person shooters hires director best known for third person shooters and they're developing a third person shooter?

well shit, that seems like the unlikeliest of scenarios.

Personally, I look forward to shooting a Rancor's arms off

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Uncharted style games do nothing for me, I honestly get more enjoyment from those kinds of games by just watching the cutscenes on youtube and getting to skip the parts of the game where I'd have to play it

Damn it, I was hoping those rumours of an open world Star Wars game where you play as a bounty hunter were true. Not that I don't enjoy Uncharted's style but I much rather have open world over linear corridor travelling gameplay.

The first Star Wars movie was just a one big swashbuckling movie, with a charming rogue, a damsel in distress who doesn't shed a tear that her home and only family she really knew were has just blown up in front of her then also get "tortured" by a probe but shows no signs of distress or pain when resuced and the naive hero. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm really glad we're getting a ton of Star Wars games and movies in the next several years. One sub-franchise being Uncharted-like sounds amazing.

Could be good, I guess. Visceral has their moments. Big mistake making comparisons to Uncharted though, because now people will have insanely high expectations about it, and expect it to be as good, which probably won't happen.

Anyway, the more 3rd person games, the better.

Fun is the first thing I think about when playing Uncharted, what are you talking about?

Did you ever play Uncharted? Because I can't think of a single level in the series that had a "corridor" design (maybe in UC1).
