New Dragon's Dogma Online information

Still no info on night time. I'm worried they'll nerf it and it won't be super dark and require lanterns to see.

Great information coming out on DDO. Man, this game needs to come out yesterday for me. If it hits all the highs that I had in DD:DA, I'll be a happy polski olgorki.

No voice chat?

I hope that means I can use pawn phrases like: "´Tis weak to fire" instead.

BTW, so far the features of the game sound more than great.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if they by some miracle imitate the F2P model from Warframe (and release it in the west) I'll gladly spend money equal to a full priced on it.

Meh, I'm fine with no voice chat in game. Don't need to hear more people with their mic's on yet seemingly placed on their speaker so I hear the game sound echo'd or random kids in the background but NEVER the person actually playing saying anything... or maybe thats just a console game chat thing.

Still though, plenty of alternatives these days if you desperately need it.

Ugh
The 4 starter vocations are lame
I want to wreck shit on sorcerer

Other than that,I like everything I'm reading

Can still rent out and hire AI pawns???

Yesssss!!!

I need this game! Capcom... Sony.... PLEASE!!

Old thread, but never noticed that full party pawns were back :D

Sorry for bumping this, I didn't want to make a new thread just for this but looks like they're sending the CBT1 invites since I received my coupon code today, anyone else?

I really want to play this in coop, I hope localization information isn't too far off.

PC will have voice chat, just run your own vc software.
Yeah, at least for my group of friends in-game voice chat is generally a minor annoyance rather than a feature, since we need to figure out how to turn it off so that we don't get double voices. (The fast, high-quality one from Mumble and the invariably more delayed and lower-quality in-game one :p)

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Very excited for this! Online DD? Hell yeah!

Where are they sending it? Email?

EDIT: Totally got mine. Sweet!

I need that localization. It had such a fantastic combat system that already proved it would work in multiplayer (since pawns were exactly the same as the player characters).

- players can create multiple characters in a single account
- on PC specs; obviously players with high-spec PCs will be able to enjoy better graphics, but basically if you’re running a decent 3-year-old PC that met the recommended requirements of most games then you’d likely be all right
- the game design is catered towards long-term continual play; there are levelling dungeons and areas, item-based hunts/quests, as well as random/limited quests/events that pop up when viewing notices in the lobby
- can form parties with pawns or other players; like in DD/DA, the pawns are AI-controlled, but you can easily ask another player to join in
- in-game party of a maximum of four members; you can play with pawns or other Arisen (mix and match pawn-Arisen combination as you like), or even play solo
- you can even get the NPC armour like Iris’ and Leo’s

These are pretty much PSO2, and I like it.

That's probably also why they're going with an F2P model - or, well, at least, that's what I'm hoping. It'd be hard to convince people to pay another $60 for more or less the same content as the original game, now with multiplayer.

Though it does raise questions about how they WILL go about monetizing aspects of the game. A stamina system doesn't seem likely, although who knows?

Think I'm quoting a pretty old post here, but I'm going to bet it's all based on Rift Crystals from the original game (which you could find plenty of, but could also buy).

In fact, Dark Arisen introduced a number of new uses for Rift Crystals, and could have almost been free to play I'd they'd made Rift Crystals harder to come by as loot drops.

Rift Crystals already
- let you hire pawns at a higher level than you
- purchase cosmetic items and upgrades
- unlock Rift Stones (which sort of act as save points in dungeons in Dark Arisen)
- reveal loot drops that require having their "curse" lifted before you can use them (another new addition in Dark Arisen)

It was obvious they were setting the stage for their next game to be free to play

For the folks who can't understand the Japanese language - would you be down to play this game even if it never reaches the West?

I think I'm willing to try playing DDO in Japanese, although I'd sorely miss the pawns' banters in English.

I wouldn't just because I think the latency with an action heavy game like Dragon's Dogma would be killer. I have no issues using a fan translation or whatever but the ping would be real bad.

The Game is IP locked so you wouldn't be able to play it anyway.

PSO2 had (it still even has, in fact) huge English community despite the latency.
I remember on its peak, English community channels were always full of players. It's not that bad, and there were English patch available. I hope someone will make an English patch for this as well.

Don't tell me that, no, no I've been trying to get a JP account on my PS4 for the last 2 months.

please , point me to a source there are way to many trolls on the INTERNET and I honestly cant trust you ( there is to much as stake here) where did you read that the game is IP locked, and so will it lock us even if we have a JP ps account?

Is this game even cross-play though? I don't remember seeing anything about that.

It's absolutely cross-play.

That said, there are limitations because of it, but they're more technical than graphical, especially now with the ps4 version out.

So this is out on PS4 now? Didn't Sony have a studio dedicated to helping translate eastern games to make things easier to bring to the west? Where's DDO at?

I spent an hour trying to make a Japanese PSN account and finally downloaded a beta ticket. You are telling me that the game will detect my IP and block me from playing?! Do you have a link?

Wow old post but I missed it back then.
Just some stuff from the developer team interview in Dengeki PlayStation:

- no voice chat
Lame, but PC and PS4 should be fine with external software and party chat, respectively.

- character generator is also like DD/DA’s customisation system, but with more additions; make handsome guys, cute girls, whatever you fancy
What additions are those? You could already do all that in DD...

- no, there is no Ur-Dragon-like boss
Yay!
- but there are raids with eight players!
...Yay?

Still no news of a localization I take it.

I was accepted to the Alpha test and I can confirm it's IP-locked. If you need something from their website, latest beta test FAQ has it too:

Q.日本国外から「クローズドベータテスト1」に参加することはできますか?

A.『ドラゴンズドグマ オンライン』の「クローズドベータテスト1」を、日本国外からご参加いただくことはできません。

Q. Can I participate to "Closed Beta Test 1" from outside Japan?
A. You cannot participate to "Dragons Dogma Onlines Closed Beta Test 1" from outside Japan.

Besides Street Fighter and remaking Resident Evil games, does Capcom have any other western releases planned? Seems weird they aren't announcing games for the west.
