Xbox One adds Xbox 360 backwards compatibility

They have to do it like this: "Today you can download Gears of War 3 on your Xbox 360 and, boom, you can play it on Xbox One(being a preview member)."

It makes perfect sense to make it available for Xbox One preview members on the 16th of July.

This would be awesome and make Games with gold even more value for Xbox One owners, simply release backwards compatibility at the same time for each 360 game that is available for free.

The Ultimate Game Sale starts on Tuesday. Lots of 360 games for sale.
Boy, that'd be a great time to add backward-compatible titles for preview members, eh?

One can hope....

Plants vs. Zombies wasn't made available with BC on July 1, I see no reason to think it will be different with Gears 3 on July 16.

I wouldn't expect either at this point in time, agreed.

Gosh, they're probably working overtime just dealing with all the feedback from the titles that are available for Preview.

Just a heads up that burnout paradise is on sale right now at 75% off. If you want it, pick it up as it will only last another 13 or so hours before the deals switch over.

I'm hoping to be able to grab Reach and Halo Wars via BC before the years end so I have every Halo game accessible straight from X1, would be pretty cool!

I still have my 360 under the TV, purely for Rez HD, Guardian Heroes HD and Outrun 2 HD. Does anyone know if these games are now downloadable on the Xbone?

Quick question, sort of related to this but I tried to grab Kameo digitally today from Xbox.com as I don't have my 360 anymore. Wanted to play it on my X1 but it won't let me use my Xbox credit as a payment option, it wants me to buy it using my bank card. Anyway around this? Really wanted to play it again :-(

For some reason they don't let you pay for 360 games with xbox credit from the website. You have to do it on your console. Hopefully they'll change this now so people with a Xbox One but no 360 can use their credit.

Cheers, I could have sworn they used to allow you to use credit on the website. What a bizarre feature to remove, what's more gutting is that the sale starts tomorrow and if there are any great 360 games I'll just have to leave them because Microsoft don't want to let me use my Xbox credit :-(

Can you buy a 360 game/get a 360 gwg title without downloading it onto your 360?

Edit: never mind ^

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
Man did that initial list ever got updated? I have bunch of famous games, and none of them shows up yet. Any news on when next batch of games be added?

No, not yet. It's still in preview, no word on when other titles will be added. Definitely in october, once the program gets launched officially, but before then it's anyone's guess.

I own it digitally as well so I'm super hyped regarding BP!

It has excellent DLC also so hopefully that can get that sorted too, it's been on sale on 360 this past week so get it quick!

I bought Kameo online via Xbox.com, now it isn't showing up in my ready to install list on my X1. Anyone know how long this might take? I have all my other available BC games already on there but Kameo hasn't appeared :-(

I'm having quite some fun with Super Meat Boy. I never actually finished the game on the Xbox 360, so it being on the Xbox One is pretty sweet. Can't wait for the other games in my collection hitting the Xbox One.

I was browsing the Xbox Smartglass app and looked at achievement challenges(which I haven't done for quite a while) and thought: What if developers could add achievement challenges to the backwards compatible games on Xbox One?
